Central Michigan, which offers one of the
very few White feature tailbacks at the FBS level in
Saylor Lavallii, will be playing on ESPN2 at 7:00pm this evening.
if you've not seen Lavallii play, he is an excellent scatback with top-level change of direction skills and burst, though he doesn't have elite top-end speed. he also picks up a lot of yards after contact and is a far more physical (and thus, successful) runner between the tackles than his size (5-foot-9, 213-pounds) would suggest.
Ball State is CMU's heavily-favored opponent. they're led by superb-but-unheralded, pro-style quarterback
Keith Wenning, who already owns most of the meaningful passing records in school history, having broken most all the marks set by the properly-hued (and consequently over-hyped in years gone by) Nate Davis. Wenning has thrown 23 touchdowns to just 5 interceptions on the year.
Ball State also features the VERY athletic tight end
Zane Fakes. Fakes (6-foot-3, 237-pounds) was a record-setting tailback in high school, where he also qualified for the state track meet in the 400-meter relay. he's a unique talent.
perhaps the Cardinals' best defensive player is their leading tackler, sophomore linebacker
Ben Ingle. freshman linebacker
Zach Ryan is also amongst the team's elite defenders.
