Ironic that the logo for the Negro Basketball Association is a whiteboy honkey cracka, Jerry West. Nowadays the great Jerry West would have at least a 4-year stay on the bottom of a roster, if he were even signed at all.

Very true. He would be a "defensive liability."

I was gone alot of the last few days but I did see some of the Suns vs Blazers and Twolves vs Magic games. The Suns game was a pleasant suprise. Miles Plumlee was named a starter and he is only in his 2nd season. The kid can jump out of the gym. He had 18 points and 15 rebounds. He was also blocking shots and changing many others. The kid has amazing talent and he will only get better from here. Goran Dragic also had a great game with 26 points to lead all scorers as the Suns blew out the Blazers. Alex Lin also played a little of the bench for Phoenix. They will bring him along slowly but he will eventually be a solid player and he is 7'1!

The Minnesota Timberwolves are off to a good start. They beat the Magic in overtime. Kevin Love had 31 points and 17 rebounds. He is back and he will be unstoppable this year. Pekovic, Rubio and Barrera all played good. Sved was quiet in this game but he will be fine. The Twolves have their next game on Friday Night. This will be the year they finally make the playoffs.

Miles Plumlee was impressive for sure, I still think his brother Mason has more talent then him though. I'm looking forward to watching him play, but he probably won't play much, if at all, this season.

As for Kevin Love, he has already shown himself to be one of the most clutch players in the NBA. I've seen him knock down game winning shots on many occasions, both in the NBA, and at UCLA. Not to mention he is one of the best rebounders I've seen in some time. He had a 30 rebound game a few years back. If he was black, he'd be talked about as one of the best big men in the league along with Dwight Howard.

Yea, nice to see the TWolves win but it was a bit concerning they blew a 4th quarter lead to a bad Magic team at home. Anyway, a win's a win and Vucevic is Orlando's best player.

If I have some free time, maybe tomorrow, I'll compile a "Caste Football NBA Guide" like I did last year. Of course, it will detail for the casual fan which teams to support and which teams to avoid like the black plague (pun intended).

I'm still hoping for a Jimmer Fredette trade. The Kings barely won in their opener last night and that is the 2nd or 3rd game in a row where they sst Fredette the whole game. Total Bull Sh**. Jimmer has proved he should be a starter and could be a potential all star. The Kings sucked last year and they will continue to be a below average team at best. If they don't pick up his option by the end of today, he is going to be a free agent at the end of the season. This would be great but I would rather see a team go get him right now.

They say sports is all about money. Not true. Ask Utah why they didnt' draft Jimmer and still won't trade for him despite the Utah Fans demanding it. The Jazz suck but they don't want a hometown hero who would sell out the place. It's the same situation in the nfl with Tebow and the Jacksonville Jaguars. These owners are pathetic. Two of the best guys who would play for next to nothing and the teams just ignore them. I hope all of these teams rot in a bottomless pit and continue to lose for a very long time.

Back to Kevin Love. He is a legitimate top 3 player in the whole nba. He can rebound better than anyone on the planet along with scoring 25 to 30 points a night. He is also a great shooter and passer. They don't come any better than Love. He has had so many 20/20 games and even a 30/30 games. For those who don't know what that means. It stands for 30 points and 30 rebounds. Neither Kobe, Lebron or Durant have ever done that! Love is in a class by himself. He can get some more attention in the mvp race if the Twolves can start making the playoffs and make a push toward the finals. It starts this year. Build a foundation and go from there.

Spencer Hawes dropped 24 as Sixers upset Heat. The Bucks came back from 25 down at half to make it a game. Rookie Nate Wolters was thrown into the fire early as Ridnour did not play due to sore back and Knight tweaked his hammy early. The rookie responded well with 9points and 4 assists. Not his best offensive output but he stepped up as a floor general when his team needed him on the biggest stage in sports,Madison Square Garden. Zaza Pachulia also had a nice game with 13points and 11 boards!!

Yes cdb15, I was going to mention Hawes also. He had 16 points and 14 rebounds this evening. He's avg. 16 points and 9.4 rebounds thus far. Let's hope he can have David Lee type numbers this year and become more well known!

dismissed by all the "experts" as yet another overachieving, blue collar, gym rat whose game didn't translate to the next level, point guard Nate Wolters continues to disappoint. them, that is.

in his second NBA game Wolters came off the bench and sparked a 22-point comeback, including a 10-0 run to close out the game, and helped lead Milwaukee to its first win of the season. Wolters finished with 14 points and 6 assists.

also off the bench, Zaza Pachulia was a key factor in the win. the physical center scored a game-high 20, while also dishing out 4 assists and knocking down all 10 of his free throw attempts.

some post-game snippets:

"We need a guy to come in and play with physicality in the paint area, and that's who Zaza is," said (head coach Larry) Drew, who also coached him in Atlanta.

"I thought that first half they just manhandled us in the paint. We got off to a little bit of a sluggish start in that third quarter, but the minute I put Zaza and John Henson in there, things did change."

The Bucks' bench totaled 66 points as Drew went with a lineup of four reserves — Pachulia, Wolters, Henson and Khris Middleton — and veteran forward Caron Butler down the stretch.

"In the first half, to say we came out flat is an understatement," (Bucks forward Caron) Butler said. "I thought Nate came in and was solid for us; "And Zaza was doing it all. He can't jump over a sheet of paper but he knows how to use his body."

Boston coach Brad Stevens was singing the praises of Wolters before the game, and the former South Dakota State star showed why.

"It might just be because I'm a mid-major guy and he probably has a soft spot for me," said Wolters, referring to Stevens' successful experience as coach at Butler.

Wolters has had to step into an important role after injuries sidelined starting point guard Brandon Knight and veteran Luke Ridnour.

"He (Drew) has shown a lot of confidence in me the last couple games," Wolters said. "He's keeping me in crunch time.

"This is unbelievable experience for me. It's something I didn't really expect to happen. I'm just trying to step in and do my job, and I think this will help me for down the road."

please pardon the double post, but i wanted to add a tidbit about Wolters.

in the three recent games to open the season (with one start), he's averaged 31.7 minutes of play, 10.0 points-per-game, 2.3 rebounds, and 6.7 assists. and despite being the primary ball handler, he's averaging only 1.3 turnovers. not a bad start to a career that, according to the so-called talent evaluators, should never even have begun.

keep up the good work, Wolters!

Who are the teams to root for right now? I haven't been paying enough attention to any team besides Minnesota lol. Sounds like Phoenix is one, any others?

In tonights Timberwolves / Lakers tilt, a total of 7 whites started the game

T-Wolves: Love, Rubio, Pek
Lakers: Nash, Blake, Gasol, and Kaman

The T-wolves are tearing it up tonight, leading 82-53 midway through the 3rd with Love already with 20 points and 12 rebounds

IF the wolves stay healthy it looks like they could be a solid 4-5 seed out west

It'll be interesting to see how the 'wolves do against better teams. The Clippers tonight have a pretty mediocre record thus far but are supposedly one of the teams to beat.

Shocking that the Lakers started more whites than Minnesota.

Saw that Ricky Rubio had a triple double. Very good news.

Jason Smith led the Pelicans in points in a losing effort.
