Patriots 2012 Defensive Off season moves pre-draft.
Aaron Lavarias- He is listed as a DE, but at 248 I think he projects more as a OLB; Practice squad.
Mike Rivera- MLB, practice squad last year.
Ross Ventrone- SS Was jerked around last year from active to practice squad over and over. Hopefully this year will be different for him.
Alex Silvestro- DE, was on the practice squad all last year leading up to the SB. Hopefully will be on the 53 this year.
Steve Gregory- SS, a converted CB should see a lot of PT and possibly have a Pro Bowl showing in 2012.(Starter)
Trevor Scott- LOLB, will play both LB and DE in the 4-3. A good versatile player that will thrive in BB's system. (Starter)
Bobby Carpenter- MLB, I am kind of torn with this pick up as I believe that Dane Fletcher has much more potential then Bobby. But another white potential starter.

In my estimation in 2012 the Patriots will go from having one white starter on defense in 2011 to having at least 4.
This may be their best year ever.

Patriots also signed fullback Spencer Larsen from the Broncos. Because he was a college linebacker and did get some time on defense in Denver, speculation is he might be asked to play defense/special teams with the Pats, as they do not really use the fullback that much -- like the Colts, they go with 2 tight ends/H-Backs on most plays.

Following the draft, there are currently 84 players on New England’s active roster. Of these players, there are 39 whites, or 46%. Also, I didn’t consider TE Aaron Hernandez, nor LB’s Aaron Lavarias or Mike Rivera to be white. If I’d have considered those three players, the roster would be exactly 50% white.

QB – Brady, Hoyer, Mallett, Hartline

RB/FB – Woodhead, Kettani, Larsen

WR – Welker, Gonzalez, Ebert, Edelman

TE – Gronkowski, Herman

OL – Connolly, Gallery, Hix, Kopa, Koppen, Mankins, McDonald, Solder, Vollmer, Wendell, Zusevics

Like all of us here, I’ve viewed countless NFL rosters over the past 7 or 8 years, searching for white faces amongst a sea of darkness. Never before have I seen such a large amount of white players on the active roster of a single team. Couple the amount of white players with their distribution across every single position (especially WR, RB and DB), and this squad has accomplished a remarkable feat.

Naturally, this number will be thinned to a Caste-approved tally (likely 21-25), with Kettani, Ebert, Herman, Hix, Kopa, Zusevics, Silvestro, Koutouvides, Tarpinian, Ebner, Ventrone, and Koepplin unlikely to make the 53-man roster. However, a few key injuries to black players could allow 2012 Patriots to become the whitest NFL team since the early 1990’s Buffalo Bills.

Aaron Hernandez is white IMO. Half Italian, half Puerto Rican, the Puerto Rican part is probably mostly Spanish.

The Redskins released Gaffney on Tuesday, even though the 31-year-old receiver was coming off his most productive season as a pro, with 68 catches for 947 yards and five touchdowns. Gaffney, a second-round pick by the Texans in the 2002 NFL Draft, was in Houston for four seasons before spending three with the Patriots and two with the Broncos. He played just one year with the Redskins.

Gaffney's the prototypical journeyman receiver. He had the best season of his underwhelming career last year and the Redskins still didn't want him so I'm not too worried about him signing with New England.

I'm not too worried about Gaffney. He's an average receiver at best. Besides, whose time is he really going to cut into? Edelman will probably be playing quite a bit of defense, Welker is the clear cut best receiver on the team, Gonzalez needs to stay healthy and he can easily beat out Gaffney, and Ebert will probably be on the fringes of the league his entire career.

And, of course, we all know who's really getting screwed here. What does Danny Woodhead have to do to be given a chance to be the incredible offensive weapon he is?

And I read a mainstream blurb that one of the N.E. beat writers thinks Edelman may be the "odd man out," although he did go on to say someone would snatch him quickly if he was.

With all the white players the Pats now have, combined with the continuous addition of questionable blacks, it will be very interesting to see how the final roster pans out. I'd be shocked if they don't set an all time record for the "purging" of white players.

Addai, a late 1[SUP]st[/SUP] round pick in 2006, has been a colossal disappointment, particularly after his first two seasons (06-07 and 07-08), where he was considered (at the very least) an above average back, tallying around 1,100 yards in both years. He reminds of the Green Bay’s former starting running back, Brandon Jackson, in that he isn’t particularly good in any category critical to being a successful running back. He isn’t strong, or tough, or durable, or quick, or a good pass blocker, or a good receiver. Despite his gaudy combine 40-time (4.37), he doesn’t look particularly fast on the field, either. He was particularly awful over the past three seasons, even drawing the ire of several Casteon “journalists,” who agreed that he was arguably the worst starting running back in the NFL (which is quite telling). Although I remember him as a talented player at LSU, Addai often split carries with other backs and never even rushed for 1,000 yards in college. For what it's worth, Addai has no “off field” problems whatsoever, he is non-threatening during interviews, he doesn’t “Zulu” on the field, and he seems like a decent person when contrasted against his turd-hued comrades.

Now, at 29 years old and with a long history of injuries, he has been signed by New England. His signing could either be as a replacement for veteran Kevin Faulk, or, if they decide to only keep three active running backs (after Woodhead and Ridley), an indication that Shane Vereen may be cut or placed on the practice squad come September. Either way, Woodhead's role is bound to increase in 2012.

The Gaffney singing is surprising, given the fact that they are searching for a tall “flanker” and Gaffney, who is neither tall nor a flanker, was always more of a slot receiver during his tenure in New England (2006-2008). Tom Brady and Josh McDaniels, for whatever reason, adore Gaffney, a inexplicable love affair that was likely the primary reason he was signed. At this point, Wes Welker and Brandon Lloyd are likely to be the #1 and #2 receivers, with Branch, Gaffney, and Gonzalez competing for playing time in the #3, #4, and #5 roles.

With talents such as Gronkowski and Hernandez at TE, I doubt New England will carry more than 5 receivers (none of whom play special teams, accept an occasional Welker punt return). Ochocinco, Stallworth, Britt Davis, Jeremy Ebert, and Matt Roark and are likely to be cut, with Edelman and Slater likely to make the squad based on offenseive/defensive/special teams versatility. Hopefully, Ebert can at least make the practice squad as a rookie.

As for the impending “all-time record white purge”…well, that could certainly occur. With Matt Light officially retiring, the Patriots are set at 39 white players on the roster (see breakdown above). I imagine that anywhere from 14 -18 white players could be purged in order to meet both league requirements for race, as well as intrinsic social paradigms. That is, keeping no more than 25 white players. With any luck, though, a rash of injuries could ruin their little pre-determined “roster blueprints,” an act of defiance that would utterly incense the Aryan-Wigger, Roger Goodell...

"Rookie wideout Jeremy Ebert was not in attendance as his class at Northwestern has yet to graduate, which prohibits him from taking part in the workouts. Free agent newcomers Anthony Gonzalez and Daniel Fells also were not seen on the fields."

Patriots' Vereen, Ridley battle to replace Green-Ellis

The New England Patriots' offensive attack in the Brady/Belichick era has never been predicated on having a workhorse running back, but the departure of BenJarvus Green-Ellis as a free agent did create question marks in Foxborough.
The obvious question is who will become the primary ballcarrier in 2012? It's been speculated that Stevan Ridley will get first crack at the job, but the Boston Herald reported on Sunday that Shane Vereen "served as the top back during practice" in the session made open to the media last week.


This doesn't necessarily mean Vereen is regularly leading the unit, since the media didn't have access to the first two OTA sessions. Vereen, a second-round draft pick in 2010, saw limited action last season but averaged more than five yards a carry on 81 attempts. His 441 yards rushing were second on the team behind Green-Ellis (667).
Of course, trying to make sense of the depth chart -- a Bill Belichick depth chart, no less -- is a pointless endeavor at this point, but Vereen certainly figures to be in the mix for some of the 181 rushing attempts Green-Ellis took with him to the Cincinatti Bengals.

The Patriots' RB depth chart also includes holdover Danny Woodhead, undrafted free agent Brandon Bolden and veteran Joseph Addai, who signed with the Pats this month after six seasons with the rival Indianapolis Colts.

Anthony Gonzalez released by New England Patriots

Anthony Gonzalez's stint in New England didn't even last three months. The Patriots released the former Colts first-round pick of the Indianapolis Colts on Tuesday. They also signed three players: offensive lineman Jamey Richard, rookie free agent tight end Nick Melillo and seventh-round pick cornerback Alfonzo Dennard. Some might point to this release and say the Patriots did Gonzalez a favor. He was going to get caught in a numbers game in a ridiculously deep Patriots receiver group and was unlikely to make the team out of training camp. We'll take the cynical angle: Gonzalez could have some serious physical issues if the Patriots already know he can't beat out guys like Donte' Stallworth, Jabar Gaffney and other veterans. He only has five catches in the past three seasons after a strong start to his career in 2007 and 2008. A first-round pick in 2007 in Indianapolis, Gonzalez has faced non-stop injuries throughout his career. He was absent from OTAs last week. Something tells us there is a little more to this story that we don't know.

Here's a pretty good article on Jeremy Ebert. He's called an "undersized slot receiver" at 6 feet and 195 pounds, which is ridiculous, another example of Caste math that regards small black players as large and average and large sized White players as small.

Hopefully Ebert will at least make the practice squad this year and patiently wait while the line of journeymen, has-beens and injury prones (Stallworth, Gaffney, Branch, etc.) in front of him falls by the wayside.

If he were put on practice squad it seems like there would be at least one team out there smart enough to snatch him up, I wouldn't take the risk and find a way to keep him on the 53, there is always the chance of stashing him on IR, something the Patriots have been accused of doing before. I mean the Eagles put Amendola on the ps and the Rams picked him up, although it was his second year on a practice squad, although he can choose to stay on the Patriots which may be the smart thing to do. I can't see Stallworth making it although you never know. I can't understand the loyalty to Gaffney. Unfortunately Bellicheck might not have the balls to start both Welker and Ebert, as much sense as it would make, but I am hoping Welker starts for the Patriots for the next two years to guarantee he will get at least 10k for his career, not sure if another team would make him the feature receiver no matter how good he is.

This is the 2nd write up this year that assumes Ridley and Vereen will be the top two backs for New England, despite the fact Woodhead was the #2 guy behind the law firm for most of last year and all the play-offs. Woodhead has averaged over 5.0 yards a carry for his career, but I guess that does not matter. The media sure cannot get Woodhead out of the picture fast enough.

Stevan Ridley, RB, Patriots: The Patriots let BenJarvus Green-Ellis go because they like the tandem of Ridley and Shane Vereen. Of the two, Ridley is ready to assume the bigger role, and even if they don't run the football all that much, there will still be goal-line opportunities galore for Ridley (The Law Firm had 23 TD on the ground the last two seasons). Ridley averaged over five yards per carry in 2011, and is ready for bigger things this season. He could be an instant starter for your team.

I’ll never forget when Matt Jones signed with the Bengals, some pompous black poster on a forum claimed it would be an opportunity for Matt to receive instruction and tutelage from Chad Johnson. One sad by-product of the caste system is that it gives some people a false sense of self-importance, not to mention reality.
