Historically, O'Brien had not played white running backs prior to Danny Woodhead showing up at New England, so I figure Zwinak and Zordich have Woodhead to thank for their opportunities. O'Brien apparently "un-Caste" his mind a bit after his experience with Danny.

There’ve been no white “feature backs†under O’ Brien, but there have been “situational backs†(like Woodhead). During New England’s undefeated 2007 regular season (O’ Brien’s first season with NE, where he was an assistant to McDaniels), running backs Kyle Eckel and Heath Evans were usually permitted to carry the ball behind the ever-putrid Lawrence Maroney (who failed to rush for 1,000 yards that season) during “garbage time†of their many blowout wins. Eckel received 33 carries, scoring twice. Evans received 34 carries, scoring 3 times. It’s important to note that they weren’t running out of the traditional “blocking fullback†spot, either. Unlike Maroney, who was slow, small, weak, and possessed no elusiveness or creativity, Eckel and Evans both ran ferociously that season…

In reading countless articles featuring interviews like the one Truthteller posted above, I’ve come to the conclusion that it was Bill O’ Brien alone who gave us Wes Welker, Rob Gronkowski, Julian Edelman, and Danny Woodhead simultaneously flourishing. It was Bill O’ Brien’s dazzling 2011 offensive play calling (and he who limited the roles of Chad “Ochnocinco†and Deion Branch) that finally allowed two white pass-catches in the same offense to eclipse 1,000 receiving yards in the same season. It was Bill O’Brien who helped Gronkowski break the single season yardage and touchdown marks for tight ends. It was Bill O’ Brien who convinced Belichick to trade Randy Moss in 2010 after their infamous “locker room brawl†following a Week 4 win at Miami.

I wish him the best at PSU. Of course, it’ll take a few years to “cleanse†the program of Paterno’s black thugs and Caste-friendly (whites at QB, TE, OL, LB, and occasionally safety) positional recruiting.

As usual, nice job Thashen. Let's not forget, in a move to undoubtedly humiliate Woodhead (still a RB), fat Rex forced Danny to wear #83 during the 2010 season. My guess is he thought he would be mocking the Pats, by giving him Welker's number. Pats one upped fatty by signing Danny (at O'Brien's urging?) and he's comes back to bite Rexy on the @ss every time they play.

Here's a new article about Woodhead on nfl.com. Not a great one, but the weird looking writer does make some decent points:

Why did New York Jets cut Danny Woodhead? Rex Ryan's ego

I read this in an article concerning the upcoming Patriots-Dolphins clash…

In nine career games against the Dolphins, Wes Welker has caught 75 passes for 981 yards and four touchdowns, averaging 8.3 catches and 109 receiving yards per game against his former club. Those averages are the best against any team Welker has faced more than once in his career. He also has five 100-yard games against Miami with a 138-yard game at Miami (10/21/07), a 120-yard game at Miami (11/23/08), a 10-catch, 167-yard game in 2009 at Miami (12/06/09), eight receptions for 160 yards, including a 99- yard touchdown at Miami (9/12) in the 2011 season-opener and 12 receptions for 138 yards vs. Miami (12/24/11).

Let’s hope that Wes’ history of great success against Miami is an indication that he’ll get back on track after a string of 5 straight games without besting 100 receiving yards. In those 5 games, he also hasn’t had more than 7 catches. Welker will only need 39 more yards to achieve yet another 1,000-yard season.

Thankfully, the always-casteon “Pustule Twins,†Dan Dierdorf and Greg Gumble, shall provide their renowned brand of donnish analysis and racially-unbiased commentary! I hope that Welker devours the Dolphins’ all-tar defense on Sunday, and likewise, that Brian Hartline scorches New England. I want Dinkleberrydorf, the Negro-doting, acid-tongued Sleestack bigot, to seep with the melancholy tears of racial shame.

This article is a double edged sword. Someone high up in the nfl may take offense and send down word to the patriots to gut their offense and the patriots just may do that, get rid of all those pesky White guys. I've got the feeling that when Belichick retires, they mean to make that O coordinater the head coach. That guy'll even sit Brady down.

Once BB leaves that team is going have a dramatic demographic makeover. BB is probably the only white friendly (i use that term loosely) coach currently in the league. It will be interesting to see what happens when he retires - will McWigger take over? Or maybe he is grooming one of his unknown assistants that don't get much press.

Mangini could be an interesting candidate - perhaps him and BB have made up. He is the only guy out there that comes to mind that does not adhere strictly to the caste mentality. Who knows if he will ever get another shot as a head coach though.

I like Mangini but what about former OC and current head coach, Bill O'Brien? Seems very fair at Penn St but we don't know if that only reflects the programs sanctions.

Does anyone here know if Julian Edelman will be ready for the playoffs? He could be the Patriots X-factor.

I'm not up to pace on the NFL injured reserve rules but I think Edelman can't play in the post season at all.

Wow, thanks for the update. Bummer. Hopefully Woodhead will get an expanded role. I heard the Miami/Patriot game on ESPN radio and I believe it was Gino Torreta who even remarked that Woodhead was the Patriot's best overall back. Its a damn shame they don't use him more than just a decoy or for an outlet receiver.

The depth chart on The Patriot's official website is showing Logan Mankins starting at left guard (SNOW PLOW!!!) and the depth chart on NFL.COM is showing Donald Thomas starting for some reason. I don't see any injury reports on Logan Mankins and he started their final four regular season games.
