I'm a bit disapointed with Rooney in the 400. you have 4 years to prepare for the olympics in your country and thats the best you can do. I expect more from him. he should at least made the final. I'll cut him a pass if he was hurts, but that it.

A correction to my report on the 800 heats. For some reason, Lewandowski made the semis. I missed his heat (overslept), so apparently he got tripped up or something. Not sure. At any rate, that's good news and means that no one was eliminated.

Furthermore, I should mention a few other guys that made it through. I'm not as familiar with them, but who knows? Maybe they will surprise:
Marco of Spain
Lathouwers of NED (a splendid mid 1:44 PB)
Andre Olivier of South Africa (if he wasn't running the wrong time of year, we'd apparently all know him. He has a LOW 1:44 PB and looked great in his heat).

So we've got quite a squad in the semi-finals: Symmonds, Borzakovski, Kszczot, the young Bosse, Olivier, Lathouwers, Lopez, Marco, Reina, Geoff Harris, Lewandowski. Eleven guys in the semis!

Oops--add one more. 12 finalists. I hadn't realized that Pecanha of Brazil counts, too. Based on his record, I don't view him as a major threat, though.

Well, I did say beforehand that the 100m final would be all black once again. Predictable I know and very disappointing.Unless CL starts taking what those others are taking, he will not be able to compete for a long time at that level. I do not want CL to ever lower himself to that though. No non black man is anywhere near being a champion or even a finalist.Gatlin is a dirty cheat. DIRTY. Got his ass kicked last year twice by CL and next year runs 9.79. YEAH RIGHT.Bolt jogging a crazy 9.87 in the semi and blitzing past Dwain with ease sealed it there and then.I do not know how Bolt comes back from the beating in Jamaica to running 9.63 a month later???

I agree, though I am 75-25 that bolt is not on anything...but not sure if anyone else picked up on this...Bolt always visits some German Doctor every year, always before a major world championship where he sets a record or close to it, to fix his back...something to think about...Yohan Blake is too comical. I could see his stretch marks on his shoulders and chest, along with his bloated head from my tv. The guy is 22 and looks 32 - first sign of major HGH use.

I did feel bad for Tyson Gay, and a little for Powell.

I feel bad for none of them. I would bet my left nut that all eight finalist are on PED's. you want to think Bolt is some freak? fine I'll give him a 9.7X for being a freak, but 9.58 & 19.19 and you have to be on something. I only pray that they go back and test the samples years later and exposed them all as the frauds that they are.

Martina was slim and skinny and more of a 200 meter specialist in 08'. Now he has a chest like a female porn star. It's possible all 8 or on drugs, even Ryan Bailey has gotten much larger and is now running 9.88. The only feel good story (for me) about these drug cheats would have been Bailey helping out his ailing mother who is(was?) on disability welfare because she has Fibromyalgia. I have experience pain like this due to stress and have had to deal with it over the years.

Despite none of our guys medaling in the 400 meters finals, it was still nice to see 3 white sprinters out of the 8 in the final. Pavel Maslak just missed the final by an eyelash or we could have had 4 out of 8. The lane draw killed the Borlee Brothers and Solomon is just too young and inexpeirenced at the moment. All four of these guys I mentioned went into the 44's in London. Very impressive indeed and it was nice since Wariner failed to make it there.

I have no doubt about all three guys on the medal stand of the 100 finals. I also am around 95% that all 8 were on something. The times are just going to another level and these guys can run them over and over again. Not possible to do that when your natural. Just ask Ben Johnson who is one of the few to tell the truth as far as former sprinters. Many coaches, trainers and doctors have said the same thing. To run that fast twice in the same day is just not possible without the help of flinstones.

I'm looking forward to the 200 heats with Christophe and the 110 hurdles should be great.

I also want to see Sally Pearson show everyone on earth that she is the best that ever lived!

Bolt visits German Doctor

Hi elispeedster,

I think that the doctor (Hans-Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt) is unsuspicious. He is the doctor of Bayern München and the German Soccer team. Bayern München is one of the best soccer teams in the world. Müller-Wohlfahrts reputation is very good. No, the risk is too high for him to do some forbidden things... If nevertheless, it would come to a giant bang.

Good overall assessment, WL. White athletes are doing very well in the infield as excpected, so I'm not going focus on that for now. I'm a little disappointed with the lack of medals in the 400/400H for men and 400 for women. I think there's a good chance one or maybe 2 whites will get a medal in the women's 400H tomorrow.

We've already had Rupp's silver in the 10,000, and he still has the 5,000 to go. We could still have Pearson getting gold in the 100H, Christophe a medal in the 200, Symonds or someone else in the 800, and several chances in the women's 800/1500 and men's 1500.

I'm willing to bet, when you tally up all the medals in T&F at the end, white athletes will come out ahead.

BTW, congrats to the American girl who won the pole vault, and I swear I saw a white American girl make it to the women's 400H final. I could not believe my eyes, was that for real, and who was that? How the heck did a white American sprinter make it past USA Track & Field? Impossible!

Jonathan Borlee

In the first round Jonathan Borlee ran 44,43 Sec. With this time he would be Second in the finale. This was a large error of him. It was not necessary to run so fast.

actually his reputation is not that good
he used a product that is legal in germany but illegal in other countries: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Actovegin

here is a great article about him:

"There are witch doctors out there. It was the same with Victor Conte. And he was pushing illegal drugs. And now he is a convicted felon. It is the same with Galea. These sorts of gurus get a reputation within athlete populations. And these high-dollar athletes who are desperate to do anything and everything to win, even at the jeopardy of their own health, go to these guys. That is the culture. It is not right, but that is the culture."

the 100m final was a joke
in france we had a little footage of bolt training before the competition showed before the race
the contrast was shocking: he was skinny in the footage showed, but then he looked like a bodybuilder in the race

he was beaten every time by blake when it didn't really mattered, and he said that he was ready physically (not injuried) but that it mattered more to win at the olympic games (= "my PED stack is designed so that i will peak at the olympic games")

we knew it would be this way before the season even started: http://www.castefootball.us/forums/threads/7828-Christophe-Lemaitre-quot-White-Lightning-quot-9-92-and-19-80!?p=220013&viewfull=1#post220013

the 2 other runners on the podium taking the 2nd and 3rd place have already been caught
what is interesting is that gatlin runs as fast as when he was on PED, while he is now 30 years old

he is a living proof that you can be on drugs at the olympics and avoid to be caught, even when you are suspected by every body and very known
the only way to get caught is to make a mistake with your drugs intake

My wife has Fibromyalgia and she's still out there busting her ass. when you got to work to pay the bills, you work. sounds like his mom is lazy and living off the government tit.

I have a mild case of this and if I get a bad day I can barely move out of bed. Thank god there aren't many bad days. I didn't realize I have a mild case of this because I hadn't worked out seriously in 10 years. So about 10 months ago I started lifting weights and I noticed that the extreme muscle tightness that I had under stress wasn't because of a sedentary lifestyle. These days I do 160 pound lat pull downs, 220 pound Smith Machine bench presses and I still get this tightness in my muscles. It has eased up though because of the exercise but it's still there.

Well, the great Sally did it today.

Sally Pearson--gold in the hurdles.

A Russian--I forget his name--won the high jump.

In other news--an Algerian (basically looks like a less tanned Adam Gemilli) took gold in the 1500, followed by Mexican-American Leo Manzano at silver. A Moroccan (again, think Gemilli) took bronze. Then Matt Centrowitz. Then a Norwegian guy. Astonishingly, team Kenya got beaten out of sight. Highest Kenyan was seventh. I think the last two finishers were Kenyan. All the east Africans brought up the rear. Fear of drug testing? Maybe.

And for the bad news--the 800 semis sucked. Everyone picked that time to run terribly. Only Symmonds went through.

You have to watch out for the Kenyans. I do not believe they are clean. Bolt going to the German doctor and then all of a sudden the dramatic improvement again. Germany is a very rich country with the advanced skills to be giving undetectable drugs to "certain" rich athletes. Michael Johnson just swallows whatever Bolt does, no questions. He just says he is the best. In early 2008 MJ was critical, howeve now he is just another fan.

Bolt just like Michael Johnson is a cheater. Just my opinion but so is Gatlin and Blake too.

Let's concentrate on Sally Pearson. She made history today. An olympic record and a gold medal cements her legacy forever in my opinion. Don't get me wrong. She should keep running because she can eventually break the world record. If there would have been better conditions today, she would have probably broken it. This lady is as fun to watch as Lemaitre and Rupp. Sally Pearson is just simply the most dominant womens hurdler that I have ever seen. The media just stares in disbelief. How can a pasty white blonde run like that? Well that's because the media knows very little about athleticism. She is the best of all time. So explosive and so graceful. Incredible performance in bad conditions but what else would you expect from the greatest hurdler on earth!

Way to go Sally. We love you!!!

It was close, but Pearson did it! I got to see it live thru the online feed, so it was extra exciting! I think she can come back and do it again in 2016, and go down as a legend in the sport.

Just a general comment on American distance running, I'm seeing some serious history being made here. Rupp's 10k, followed by the 6th place finish of Evan Jager in the 3000m steeplechase, and today Manzano gets a silver, the first in 44 years for an American. He appears to have some mestizo, but not much, could easily pass as a Southern European guy, so let's give him some credit. He came out of nowhere to finish 2nd, and Centrowitz barely missed the bronze.

If Rupp can medal in the 5k, and Symonds in the 800, and at least one medal in the women's 1500 (a couple of good chances there with Simpson and Uceny), this should go down as quite an Olympics, for white Americans, and of course whites in general. The Russian guy won the gold today in the men's high jump (disappointed for Jesse Williams) and Robert Harting with the discuss gold medal. There are still some events left for even more medals (men's and women's javelin, men's pole vault, women's high jump, women's long jump).

after two decathlon events Ashton Eaton is well ahead but down in each of his first two scores in the U.S. trials (trials 2164, OG 2079).

Trey Hardee (2nd) is a little ahead of his first two events (trials 1922 OG 1936) so he's 100 points closer to Eaton at this stage.
