The Ruud acquistion is kind of a good news bad news situation as Colin McCarthy was slated to start at MLB as a rookie before the Titans signed Ruud.
Titans fifth-round rookie Karl Klug is listed as a starter on the team's updated depth chart.
He also started the preseason opener, so the promotion seems to be for real. Initial expectations were that Klug would play end with the Titans, but he's been getting a ton of first-team reps inside. Despite his low draft status, it's worth noting that Klug was more productive than both Adrian Clayborn and Christian Ballard at Iowa last season in terms of sacks and tackles for loss.
Jones to miss rest of preseason: Titans DL Jason Jones sustained a knee injury in Saturday's game against the Rams. The team's medical staff evaluated him on Sunday, and determined that the injury will keep him out for the remainder of the preseason. Jones will not need knee surgery.

Continuing the recent trend of embracing players who were really good in 2004, Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak expressed some interest Tuesday in gimpy free-agent wide receiver Terrell Owens(notes). In fact, Munchak sounds downright optimistic about Owens soon donning Titans blue. From 104.5 FM in Nashville, via John Glennon at The Tennessean:"A lot is going to depend for us on how we are producing at that (wide receiver) position three weeks or two weeks from now, and how we're doing (overall)," Munchak said. "All those things will factor into it. But I'm sure whenever you've got a player that has his capabilities, everyone's going to know exactly where he's at. If he has a way of helping our team win, then for sure you're going to take a look at him."
