The Eagles do not plan on adding a veteran middle linebacker this week, sources tell the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Despite inconsistency in the preseason, fourth-round rookie Casey Matthews has won the job. He'll be a two-down middle linebacker and IDP sleeper to start the season. The Rams figure to spread the field and then run the ball right at Matthews in Sunday's opener. Matthews will have to earn the nickel and dime jobs while sixth-round rookie Brian Rolle gets a shot in those situations.

"Super specimens" like Juqua Parker are holding the Eagles' back.. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/players/playerpage/237197/juqua-parker

Only a few decent seasons from '07 to '09, but he's past his "prime" now.. short-lived as it was.

It would be interesting to watch an Eagles practice. As a practice squad player, a player like Chad Hall would be used on the scout team imitating an upcoming opponent RB/slot receiver/etc. It would be fascinating to see how he does every day against the Eagles starting D. Danny Woodhead used to tear up the Jets D every day.

Perhaps Chad needs a name change. Maybe if he was Jaheereem Hall, that would get him more credibility.

Yeah, I'm very doubtful Chad will see much action. However, getting a portion of a third year veterans minimum salary will hopefully inspire him to keep up the fight next year for a roster spot maybe somewhere else and real playing time.

bad news: ColtAnderson is out for the ramainder ofthe year, he's had a really good season as WSTD, pro bowl caliber.

good news, two days after his bday Tom Nelson got signed:

Tom Nelson - DB - Eagles

Eagles signed S Tom Nelson, formerly of the Bengals.

He'll take S Colt Anderson's place on the roster after Philadelphia's standout special teamer was sent to injured reserve. Nelson saw time in the Bengals secondary last season, but should be limited to special teams in Philly.

Jason Babin had three sacks against the Jets in Week 15, giving him 18 on the season.

Babin now has eight sacks in his last three games, pushing him past Jared Allen and into the league lead. He continues to thrive in Jim Washburn's "wide nine" formation, after racking up 13 last season with Washburn in Tennessee. There isn't a hotter pass-rusher in the league heading into Week 16.

After being unused in the passing game for the first part of the season, Brent Celek has since become a favorite target of both Vick and Young. In his last 9 games he has 43/610/3. That's almost 15 yards a catch as Celek has the speed to make big plays.

Eagles LT Jason Peters ruptures his Achilles again

Philadelphia Eagles left tackle Jason Peters ruptured his Achilles' tendon for a second time this offseason, according to a report from CSNPhilly.com's Derrick Gunn. The Eagles later confirmed the injury.

It's devastating news for the Eagles and a player who was voted first-team All-Pro last season. A ruptured Achilles is the worst NFL injury we can think of. Experiencing the same injury twice in one offseason is almost unimaginably unlucky.

Peters reportedly was using a device called a Roll-A-Bout to maneuver around his house. The device reportedly malfunctioned, then Peters fell on his face and ruptured the Achilles again. He's going to sue the manufacturer. He will require a second surgery. This might be the saddest story we've written this offseason.

That's too funny. This tub-o-lard is too lazy to even walk around his own house. I believe the word irony was created for moments like this.

No, Mr. Jewish-Jocksniffer Rosenthal, what's an even sadder story is that this obese nitwit is paid millions of dollars to "roll" his over-sized carcass around his over-sized house. Equally sad is that Peters is lauded as a Pro-bowler year after year.

Needless to say, I hope a White athlete replaces this overrated sumo as starter.

I was checking the Eagles depth chart, and the top two LTs behind Peters currently are both sumos. The rest of the o-line starters are White. The Eagles under Fat Bastard with an all-White offensive line would be one of the great upsets in the recent history of the NFL's longstanding Caste era.

As far as Peters' second injury, the cover story is funny but I wouldn't be surprised if there's more to it than that. Sounds a little too innocuous to me, as are many stories surrounding bizarre off the field injuries suffered by blacks.

no ithese stories are really trure! Brandon Marshall really did slip on a McDonald's wrapper and his hand accidentally went into the teleivison

Not surprising that not one of the backups is White, there isn't a White tackle on the roster that could fill in at LT? I know sometimes that even though there is a "2nd string" left tackle sometimes the 2nd string "right tackloe" will fill in for the left tackie. Zach Strief dd this for a while for the Saints even though he was the backup RT for Stinchomb and Bushrod was the 2nd string LT. What did he get in return for no drop off in play from the starter? demoted until Stinchcomb left, then they put him at RT and finally put Bushrod at LT.

Sad to hear. Is this the 2nd or 3rd death by a NFL coach's son? I know Tony Dungy had a son who killed himself, not sure who the other one is. I know many kids under 24 tend to not think things entirely through, I was one of them. Of course stuff like murder, domestic abuse etc is common sense not to do no matter what the age. However drugs are a big problem among our youth. Many White kids addicted to pills like hydrocodone, oxycodone, methadone and xanax clonopin, valium etc, and usually have a doctor prescribe these and tell them its not dangerous or habit forming. Another example is adderall for adhd and add which is pure amphetamine, there is a stronger drug that they prescribe that is legal methamphetamine (knew a chick who had been prescribed both in her lifetime, for obesity)

I know I have had problems with tight muscles from weight lifting and I will only take muscle relaxants/pain killers if my back is too tight to fall asleep. Anyway RIP.....:rip:

Just imagine being involuntarily inducted into the caste world by your bag o' donuts coach father, the horror. Your whole life revolving around negro worship, a life where a one word slip up means working at a warehouse if your lucky, if you are white.
