[Deadlift]

Some people may think that this wasn't a good place for Casey Matthews to go, but this is a team that has had a bunch of injuries at positions like linebacker and DB.

I had Matthews graded out as a 3rd Rounder, so, in my view, he didn't fall that much. At Oregon, it's true that he could have put up a lot more numbers, but since they were blowing out teams, he was taken out early. Also, when teams are getting destroyed, they throw more.

Now, what about their 7th-round steal of Stanley Havili? Does this mean that Owen Schmitt is done with? And, even though he isn't White, could Havili be another Hillis-type in the 7th round?

Havili getting carries would not be a bad thing IMHO, but some on this board would approve and some would not.

Schmitt is one of the best FB in the business, I think Havili is a poor man's Brian Leonard. I hope Schmitt wins the job, Havili is a poly I believe, they are becoming an obstacle for white players as well. Look at recruiting trends in the west. Hopefully Havili is training camp fodder.

Michael Lombardi

is a genuine three-clown caste whore. Michael Vick was playing his 8th season in 2010 when the dim bulb in his brain finally began to flicker in the on position, while Kolb was essentially playing his rookie season as a starting quarterback behind a lousy o-line that couldn't protect him, but of course Whitey has to shine right from the get-go at every position he plays in the NFL.

NFL Network's Mike Lombardi believes Kevin Kolb is overrated and will be overpaid for on the trade market. "It's hard to watch tape on Kevin Kolb and think he's worth a first-round pick," Lombardi said. "When you study the tape ... it's not overly impressive. It's very disappointing at times. I know Philadelphia doesn't like me when I say this, I think ultimately if he did have to play Philly would have been a 7-9 team. If it wasn't for Michael Vick it would have been bad." I think the Eagles will be my favorite team to root for to crash and burn this season. Vick, maybe Burress andHaynesworth, practically coal black on both sides of the ball, Chad Hall likely to be screwed, Brent Celek going for nearly a thousand yards to suddenly being mysteriously "unproductive" with Vick at QB, Stewart Bradley maybe being replaced at MLB by Jamar Chaney, the continuing presence of Fat Bastard, there's so many reasons not to like this team.

They are pretty much like the Bears, they bring in white players and never use them except for a few instances like Curtis when he was close to 30. Signing a perpetually-loafing, malcontent, ill-conditioned, cheap shot-inflicting, morbidly obese, past-his-prime multi-millionaire with the God-awful production of Albert Haynesworth will certainly guarantee a Superbowl victory.

As will the timely addition of the athletically-challenged, uncoordinated, ex-convict, wanna-be thug with pedestrian (no, worse) vertical leaping ability, Plaxico Burress.

As for the everlastingly-injured weakling, Reggie Bust, well, his worthless rushing and receiving (excluding his rookie year, in which he had 88 catches) totals over five seasons should speak volumes about his ability to succeed in the NFL. When not on injured reserve, however, he has been a consistently good punt returner.

This situation in Philadelphia is disturbing because it shows what an uphill battle it is to fight the caste system. Forget about that fat slob Haynesworth or Bush, let's look at Burress.

Here's a guy who's been a thug since day 1, goes to jail, and upon his release, we find that there are quite a few suitors for his services. He's not fast or quick, or has great route running ability. His height appears to be the one advantage that makes him a so-called redzone target. But Phili has such a player on their roster. Riley Cooper is big, strong, faster, quicker, and younger than Burress, and there's no reason why a soon to be 35 year old convict should be pursued this way.

(don't forget about Berent Celek, either, who has shown many flashes of brilliance when the ball is thrown his way)

Bottom line, the Eagles have no reason to bring-in another WR. They are loaded with talent in that position.

Well now that I think about it I think it is like someone already said, not a credible source. It is just one dwf (and probably countless others) with this opinion, not the actual coaches or managers. I doubt it happens but then again some idiot team will pick every one of these losers up, I just doubt one picks up all 3. Every year dwfs have their "dream trades" which usually consist of Nnamdi and Haynesworth and I guess now that he is out of prison, Burress. When Bush joined the discussion I don't know either, I thought he was considered a bust...oh thats right he has been productive without stats because according to dwfs "he makes entire defenses shift and key in on him when hes on the field, opening things up for everyone else"

I have gone to multiple team sites where fans are asking "Moss, TO or Burress, which one would you rather". Nnamdi I can understand but Haynesworth and the rest of the bunch is ridiculous. Amazing what msm can convince dwfs because if you even hint at Matt Jones in a joking manner you will get crucified like any of those 3 receivers mentioned can outperform him at this point in their careers. The best I have heard people say of Matt Jones (and ive heard dozens of variations) is "he started to get it down before drugs derailed his career". Jones picked up right where he left off in preseason for the Bengals in the first preseason game, they had him running 5 yard out routes stuff that didn't suite his deep speed and still looked good, then it seemed like they gave him less playing time in preseason and then was cut. I mean he is still under 30, its not like drugs are still derailing his career, he is leading a normal life, i just saw a picture of him from a recent charity thing in Arkansas where he looked fine, not like he had been on drugs. There have black football players that have done coke and played, I know Lawrence Taylor and I believe Michael Irvin.

Jones got some initial good press when he began training with the Bengals, had a good first pre-season game, then all of a sudden the media and organization turned on him. It's similar to what happened with Danny Farmer when he was a rookie with the Steelers; everything looked fine, then his "teammates" decided they hated him, followed by Bill Cowher and then the Pittsburgh media in quick fashion. In fact the same thing also happened to Farmer in Cincy. He showed his talent in limited playing time for the Bengals in 2000 and 2001, then was inexplicably cut early in the '02 season and never caught a pass again. Farmer's the same age as Burress; he should still be in the NFL catching passes. If he had been treated fairly he would likely have 600 or 700 career receptions by now.

In the last 3-years or so, he gained a ton of weight and was noticeably ineffective on the Eagles' d-line (and appeared to have no stamina). Now, he had a seizure.

The thing about so many of these large men is they're tremendously powerful. But most of the time, that power is the direct result of workouts indoors with weights. But when they're body hits the unfiltered, unairconditioned air of the outdoors, they have problems.

It's not restricted to football players either. The effects of spending so much time indoors is only now being looked at more closely.

We noticed these things long ago in my trade of Structural Ironworking with our incoming apprentices.

Here is a story detailing the illness that Jeremy Maclin had. He was tested for lymphoma and numerous other illnesses after having unusual symptoms. Of course, he's been cleared to practice, which is not good news for Riley Cooper, but it will probably take him at least the rest of the preseason to get back into shape. Hopefully Cooper can get plenty of reps and make an impact.

The only site I regularly check is Walterfootball. They mentioned that he was lost when he was on the field. Hopefully he has a better game next time.

Contingent upon how many WRs the Eagles decide to keep (5 or 6), WR/RB Chad Hall may or may not be racially purged tomorrow evening. If the Eagles keep 6 WRs, then DeSean Jackson, Jeremy Maclin, Jason Avant, Riley Cooper and Steve Smith are essentially “locks” to make the squad. In this case, Hall would be competing with former 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] round Giants (absolute) bust, Sinorice Moss.

Hall finished the 2011 pre-season with a team-leading 11 catches for 138 yards and a TD. Moss, who has similar size and speed to Hall (but with much less versatility, worse hands, worse elusiveness, and tighter hips), has 6 for 76 yards. It’s important to note that 49 of Moss’s 76 yards came last night against the Jets’ 3[SUP]rd[/SUP] and 4[SUP]th[/SUP] string defense.

Despite Hall’s versatility (WR/RB/KR/PR) when compared to Moss (KR/PR, when he’s not injured), Gordie Jones of the “Philadelphia Eagles Examiner” had this snide little remark after last night’s exhibition game…

“Sinorice Moss states his case with a 30-yard punt return. He averaged 12 yards on three returns, and had three catches for 49 yards. Is he not better than Chad Hall? Just wondering.”

No, Gordie, you weren’t “just wondering.” Like all professional jock-huffing goyim, you simply observed the skin pigmentation of each athlete whilst ignoring statistics, versatility, durability, and the glaring fact that, despite going undrafted out of Air Force Academy, Chad Hall is vastly more talented than Moss (drafted 44[SUP]th[/SUP] overall out of Miami due to Santana-Moss-nepotism).

Last season, the Eagles originally kept five WRs on their 53-man roster and Hall was signed to the practice squad and later activated in October 2010. Of course, after originally cutting Hall last season in favor of black-scrub-extraordinaire, Hank Baskett (who, in all fairness, was released in the first few weeks of the 2010 sesaon), I have no faith that “Andy Pig” will make the correct decision.

Anyway, just wanted to say that Chad Hall was unfortunately cut today. The Joe Sixpacks here are expectedly hyping Steve Smith like crazy, and the extremely talented Riley Cooper continues to fly under the radar for most. This is in spite of some amazing catches during the preseason and his obvious toughness in the face of that hard hit during the Jets game.

Also, did everyone catch Vince Young's "Dream Team" comments? It's pretty funny here in Filthadelphia. Some fans think that this team is an obvious Super Bowl contender, while the talking head "analysts" are predicting a 11 - 13 win season. This is a strange entitlement to bestow given the history of fatass Andy Reid, Michael Vick (+ the style of QB he represents), and the team's history generally. On the other hand, the NFC East looks pretty weak, which is typically the only context in which the Eagles perform relatively well.
