They went from 4 Whites on defense last year to none this year? Horrible.

Ok, this is depressing, Huskies since 2006 hsve been at 12,14,14,12,11.
My guess is that this is an abnormal year, not a trend, and that they will be back up in the future.

Their new Head Coach Dave Doeren used to be Wisconsin's Defensive Coordinator, so look for him to get some of his type of recruits to Dekalb over the next couple years.. Still 6 white starters is horrible.

I think the Huskies may have two more white starters this year. When they use a FB, Luke Eakes will start there, and Pat Schiller has a chance to start at WLB.

I myself had to be present at a flag football game, so I missed the end, but there’s no denying that UNI quarterback Chandler Harnish (link to our scouting report of Harnish) has some serious skills, and those were on display for the rest of the country to see on Tuesday night.

Harnish finished the game with six touchdown passes, despite only throwing the ball 26 times. He also carried the ball 16 times for 133 yards, giving him 398 yards of total offense with six touchdowns on the night.

The six touchdown passes are a slight outlier, but this type of production is nothing new for the UNI signal caller. This is the third game this season he has gone over 100 yards rushing, and he even has a game where he went off for 229 yards rushing.


On the season, Harnish has passed for 1,962 yards, 18 touchdowns, and has run for 864 yards and eight more touchdowns to only four interceptions. He’s also got great size at 6’2″ 221 pounds, so he should get some looks from NFL scouts. Prior to the start of this season, he was ranked in some scouts’ top ten overall quarterbacks

TOLEDO, Ohio -- Northern Illinois linebacker Jamaal Bass has been indicted in Ohio on a felonious assault charge on allegations he intentionally ran into the Toledo marching band, knocking down a member, as he took the field when the teams played in November.

According to multiple reports, Bass faces a maximum sentence of eight years in prison if convicted on the felonious assault charge.

The Lucas County grand jury on Friday also indicted the redshirt freshman from Miramar, Fla., on a misdemeanor assault charge.
Bass was suspended after the 63-60 victory at Toledo. Coach Dave Doeren apologized to the band and the university, saying the program was embarrassed.

The Blade newspaper in Toledo reports that a recording appears to show Bass jumping shoulder-first into the face of a band member and knocking over another.

"As the legal proceedings in Toledo involving NIU football player Jamaal Bass are ongoing, we will reserve any comment until that process is complete," Northern Illinois said in a statement. "Jamaal is currently enrolled at Northern Illinois and his status with the football program has not changed."
