2011 NFL Draft

Mike Brown said that he wouldn't trade Palmer. That was obviously a bluff as he drafted a good quarterback. He'll probably be asking for an arm and a leg for Palmer, though I don't know which team will give up much for Carson. His are strength is below average now because of all his injuries.

I'm can almost guarantee the Steelers draft will be all black or one white pick at most. Mike Tomlin never drafts white players unless they are offensive linemen. Even then they never get an opportunity.

It's tough to be optimistic about Jim Harbaugh now after the 49ers took Kaepernick, presumably as Alex Smith's eventual successor.

Colt McCoy has to be a bit concerned at this point with the Browns taking defensive linemen with the first two picks.

I'm disappointed that the Packers took sumo Derek Sherrod. It looks like he'll be a replacement for Chad Clifton very soon.

This draft's starting to become the usual depressing affair after some promise in the middle part of the first round. We're down to 10 Whites now out of 41 picks, under 25%. Brooks Reed, Kyle Rudolph and Ryan Mallett still waiting to be picked.

Though it is amusing to watch the parade of black former players walk to the podium with Goodell and then struggle greatly with the basic English needed to announce their team's pick. Four hundred years in the U.S. and most blacks still can't speak the language.

Awesome! It'll be fun to watch the Texan's defense next year with Cushing, Reed, Watt, and Mario Williams. They're going to have a good front seven.

Don't forget Connor Barwin. The Texans now have four potential big-time White stars on defense.

Thanks Don, I knew I forgot someone.

Kyle Rudolph to Minnesota.

The second round has certainly picked up after a depressing beginning. But i'm not sure how many more Whites will go this round -- hopefully Mallett, maybe an o-lineman or two. Anyone else? Edited by: Don Wassall

I'm thinking this might be too much of a good thing though. I assume Watt and Williams will play the ends which leaves Cushing, Barwin, and Reed for the two rush LB spots meaning someone will sit (unless Cushing is moving to the middle?).

Yeah, I think Mallett, G/C Stefen Wisniewski are going to go for sure, but I don't know about anyone else.

I hope the Texans get Tyler Sash in round 3.

Paleocon, I think Cushing will be in the middle next to Demeco Ryans.Edited by: Jack Lambert

Cushing would probably be an ILB, hed be better suited for the middle anyway. It still allows for versatility, you could have Reed or Carwin drop back in coverage with Cushing rushing instead.

He is another Pat White. His arm is hardly dangerous, and his legs will be unable to save him in the NFL, a big "step-up" from Nevada.

In light of how Kaepernick is treated by the establishment, it is clear that several of the Texas Tech QBs (and Colt Brennan) got shafted..

Bruce Carter is inferior (only 6-foot-1 at OLB) to our linebackers -- physically, athletically and statistically! Blacks should not have a "monopoly" at outside 'backer in the NFL..

Kind of worried about the Rudolph pick, they have Shiancoe who has been considered a "star", so Rudolph will probably have to play second fiddle. They said they plan on running more 2 and 3 tight end sets so maybe it wont be so bad. Hopefully that also means they they will run most of the game, giving Gerhart a chance to get the ball. They also have the h-back Kleinsasser who is a good blocker and can catch when thrown to. Despite being mainly a safety valve, Shiancoe caught around 50 percent of his passes last year.

Denver's draft so far has been atrocious. Are they gonna do anything about their bottom rank coal Black D.von Miller as a second pick has extreme bust potential as he will have problems shedding blocks at the next levelEdited by: Mighty Joe

Stefan Wisniewski to the Raiders. I'll bet it'd be cool to have your Uncle as your main position coach in the NFL.

Shiancoe will be 31 in June, pretty old for a TE, especially a black one.

thats good to know.

Its kind of sad that Mallet is falling this far over a few rumors about drug use. He openly admitted it in the interviews, meanwhile the other guys that are going higher, lied about it and failed drug tests. Which player would you rather? He is one of the top quarterbacks in this class outside of off the field stuff that is overblown. I would put him right behind Locker. Harbaugh shouldve picked him instead of Kaepernick. With Mallet you can run the type of offense he likes to run, heavy run game with a qb that can stretch the field with his arm.

Bowers finally got drafted to the Blackaneers. Pretty disappointing 2nd round, hopefully there will be a few more whites. I can't believe no one took Mallet yet. Any chance the media's negative view of him affected that?

yes the rumors spread didn't help. Most of the teams that needed quarterbacks picked one. Stupid that the 49ers decided that Colin would be better. I think the Cardinals might pick up a qb, im not sure if they have yet

I mean hes one of the top qb prospects, yeah he had a slow 40 yard time but that useless for quarterbacks. Tom Brady's was slower, it doesn't take 40 yards to move around the pocket and avoid pressure, and he didn't have a problem in the SEC, where the defenders are supposedly the "fastest in the nation, most NFL caliber". The guy has a stronger arm than Russel did, more accuracy than Russel, more mobility in the pocket, no motivation problems, didn't have a problem with overeating and an actual love for football, oh yeah and intelligence. The only thing is a few off the field issues that always get overblown for a white guy.
