They had another incredibly-weak Draft. It looks like their ebony dream team will be horrible for the next few years.

When the Cam Newton/Josh Freeman "battles" begin (I can't wait!), I might just have to support Tampa.. that's how fed up I am with the Carolina Black Panthers!

Carolina is on its way to becoming another tampa bay blackaneers in terms of the racial make up of the team...just another team to wholeheartedly root against.

Newton should be a bust.

On another note, sCam Newton just signed his contract. The Number 1 pick in the draft got $22 mil over 4 years, quite a drop from previous high picks under the new CB agreement. I'm glad he's in camp so we can see him suck much sooner than if he were a holdout!

Jimmy Clausen

Report from the Panthers camp is the DWF's are shouting at J. Clausen to sit down, insinuating that sCam is the QB they want.

I would've like to see any of those idiots play NFL QB with 1 offensive lineman and a midget receiver whose lost 2 steps, and no one else.

It's bad enough Clausen has to fight the media, his own teammates(S. Smith), but DWF's are turning on him as well.

I hope sCum gets a dose of what Clausen got last year, no protection and no one to throw to, oh I forgot he'll get to check down to Shockey or Olsen who will bail him out thus giving him the credit.

Let Scam Newton start. The Panthers are in a tough divison and I hope they get clobbered by Raheems Dream Team, The Saints and The Falcons.. Screw Ron Rivera their new HC and screw Newton. Nver seen a player who has only played 13 games in college get as much hype as Cam. But then again he is a black QB.. Explains alot. Meanwhile the DWFS act like Cam has accomplished more than Tebow(who gets absolutely ridiculed for no ****ing reason!!!!!!:dodgy:

The thing is, I expect Newton to do better this year than Clausen. Not because of his skills though. The Panthers added Olsen and Shockey and are an improved team this year.

I'd like to see them beat Raheem's Dreem Teem twice and go 0-14 against everyone else.

Jimmy Clausen had a good day at Panthers stadium today, during their team scrimmage, completing numerous passes to S. Smith? Surprise! Also Olsen was making great catches from Clausen and here's a name I forgot about: TE, Gary Barnidge, I believe out of Louisville, had a TD reception.

Maybe Jimmys' not going down without a fight!

Panthers double up on talented, experienced TEs

Shockey, Olsen join Carolina team in nead of receiving options, attitude

surprising to hear from this guy but its the truth:

Steve Smith was ecstatic about the arrival of Olsen, singing his praises despite the two having never met prior to camp.“I'm excited about Greg,â€￾ Smith said. “I wanted Greg five years ago. Me and (Panthers general manager) Marty Hurney were laughing at that. When he was coming out (of college) I thought he was a fantastic player so I'm very excited to play next to Greg. He moves pretty good for a tight end. I think he could lose a little weight and be an outstanding wide receiver. He can play.â€￾

"Productive" Ron Edwards is out for the season..

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/players/playerpage/235053/ron-edwards

Edwards' season could be done: Panthers newly-acquired DT Ron Edwards may not be able to play his first game as a member of the team until 2012. The Charlotte Observer reported Friday that he has a torn triceps muscle, and it may threaten his season. Edwards inked an $8.25 million contract over three seasons just last week after five productive seasons with the Chiefs, in which he didn't miss a single regular-season game.
(Updated 08/05/2011)

With 192 tackles (over the span of 10-years), how "special" is he? He sounds like another recycled brotha, and one that's getting long in the tooth...

Carolina waived Everette Brown, whose another midget that benefitted from Florida State's "hype-machine" and promptly became overrated. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/players/playerpage/558835/everette-brown

Sept. 4, 2011 12:45 p.m. - by Steve Reed - Panthers waive DE Everette Brown
The Panthers have waived DE Everette Brown, a second-round pick in 2009. The team gave up a first-round pick in 2010 to get Brown, but he never developed into the pass rusher the Panthers hoped he would. Panthers RapidReports

2011 Carolina Panthers

The 2011 version of the Carolina Panthers look to be in a tie with several other teams for the least amount of white starters. This is a far cry from when the franchise first entered the league and had a decent amount of white starters.

Three whites will be starters on offense. The very talented Jimmy Clausen has lost his starting position to black quarterback Cam Newton. This is unfortunate as Clausen was only given one season as a starter, and had an abysmal supporting cast. Derek Anderson is the third quarterback. Jeremy Shockey will be the starter at tight end. He was let go by the New Orleans Saints. Blessed with 4.5 speed and great athleticism, Shockey has had somewhat of a disappointing career as he's never had a 1,000 yard receiving season. Backing up Shockey is Greg Olsen whose also very fast and would start on virtually any other team in the league. Ben Hartsock is the third tight end. Ryan Kalil will be the starting center. Many feel he may be the best center in the entire league. The other white starter is Jordan Gross who plays left tackle. Gross was the 8th pick of the 2003 draft and is finally getting the recognition he deserves as he was selected to the Pro Bowl in 2008 and last season as well. Another Pro Bowl season is not out of the question. Lee Ziemba is a back up right tackle.

The defense will not have a single white starter this year. Dan Connor out of Penn State is an absolute beast at linebacker, but he won't be a starter this year. He started eight games last season but it looks like his racial apprenticeship will take a few more years. Jordan Senn will be a backup at outside linebacker and Thomas Keiser out of Stanford is a backup defensive end. Athletic strong safety Sean Considine was expected to be a starter but has lost the job to a black player.

Total number of white starters: 3

Although like many, I am surprised by the early success of sCam Newton, I'll give him his due. The only part that I have difficulty stomaching is having a picture like this pop up when I go over to Yahoo: egads!

Placing this here because of the relevancy to the Panthers. Big passing yardage, lousy team.

The Real Reason for the NFL's Passing Explosion

This is a poorly written article (duh, it's Slate). But it at least attempts to bring some numbers to the table regarding this issue.
Short answer: Blitzing got too good and too dominant in the NFL. So everybody is throwing screens all over the place this season. But teams are still blitzing like crazy, so the screens and quick passes are working, leading to inflated passing statistics.
A few other points are mentioned.

Like I said, it's not a great article. But you might use some of it to shut up a Cam-lover in the near future.

good news:

The Panthers will start Jason Phillips at weak-side linebacker this week.

Phillips, who was claimed off waivers from the Ravens a month ago, will be making his first career NFL start. He replaces Jason Williams, who has been benched due to lack of production. The Panthers' defense will continue to be one to attack for fantasy purposes.

you'll like that:

Panthers practice squad LB Lawrence Wilson was arrested Wednesday with 11 grams of marijuana after getting pulled over for speeding.

According to the police report, Wilson began to cry and ask what it would do to his career. He was cited for misdemeanor possession of marijuana and speeding.

LB - Thomas Williams (mulatto) was put on injured reserve, and the Panthers' signed Thomas Keiser from their practice squad.

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/players/playerpage/1244499/thomas-keiser

Keiser snagged off practice squad: The Carolina Panthers selected rookie DE Thomas Keiser off of their practice squad to replace LB Thomas Williams, who was placed on IR with a neck injury. Keiser was among the last cuts for the Panthers at the end of training camp.

This typically racist article emphasizes that Thomas Keiser is an unathletic White overachiever who somehow "graded out higher" than the team's "real" defensive ends purely through "desire" rather than talent.

Panthers undrafted rookie DE Keiser turning heads

Thomas Keiser left Stanford a year early certain he’d get drafted.

But when no team called his name during the NFL draft this past April, Keiser quickly realized he’d have to take the hard road and put in extra work to achieve his lifelong dream of playing in the league.

And he’s done just that.

The rookie defensive end was one of the few bright spots for the Panthers on Sunday, recording a pair of sacks in the team’s 49-35 loss to the Detroit Lions in just his second game. Although coaches acknowledge Keiser isn’t the most physically gifted lineman on the team, they say he makes up for it in other areas and his NFL future is bright.

"You love a story like that," said Panthers defensive coordinator Sean McDermott. "He’s a guy who has worked his butt off to become a good football player. He’s not the household name that we all know, but he continues to work hard and play with great effort. There are a lot of people out there more talented than he is, but he wants it. And that’s what I love about him."

Keiser showed that desire right from the start.

The Panthers contacted him immediately after the lockout ended in July and brought him in as an undrafted free agent.

There were no guarantees he’d make it. Keiser was buried on the depth chart at the time. However, he worked hard enough to stand out and graded out higher than any defensive lineman on the team during the preseason, according to coach Ron Rivera said.

Keiser made the initial 53-man roster, but was released a day later when the Panthers claimed a handful of players off waivers.

If he "isn’t the most physically gifted lineman on the team" then how could he have "graded out higher than any defensive lineman on the team".

Methinks the Carolina coaches suffer from cognitive dissonance, a seemingly epidemic condition in the NFL (and college) amongst coaches (and scouts).

A.) He graded out higher but, B.) He's White (so how could this (point A) possibly be true?)

Also how the hell do you "grade out higher then any other defensive lineman on the team" and then get cut when they grab some other teams leftovers off of waivers? That whole article is full of so much sh*t it doesn't make any sense. I wonder if the guy writing that crap is clueless or just aware of the rules and is clumsy stepping around the unmentionables?
