wow Blair White is faster than Cooper & Shipley.

Yeah no kidding, I thought Shipley and Cooper were for sure 4.4 guys. Blair White has helped himself out tremendously with his performance though. Edited by: celticdb15

well Blair White looked pretty fast on tape, I thought those 3 would all run in at least in the 4.4 range.

I never understood msu, Blair White would burn someone deep when given the opportunity but they had him mostly running 10 and 15 yard possession receiver type routes.

He said he would time at 4.52 so pretty closeEdited by: dwid

Did anyone notice they didn't show Blair White's second run so the racist scum doing the telecast could show the "Top 5 Affletes" at WR. There were a lot of much slower affletes who weren't as interesting as White. I find taking one of the few whites , one who ran unexpectedly well, and not showing his second run, racist. I will never spend a minute watching the Ni--er Football League.

Although Shipley was muscular , some of the affletes like Golden Tate clearly looked roided up, while Shipley had definition in his muscular but not large size. You could see during his 2 trials Shipley's upper body strength didn't contribute to his speed as was evident in someone like Tate. Maybe someone like White Lightning or JackyNYC could give us a more authoritative opinion on why Shipley ran an unexpectedly slow time.Edited by: jwhite96

Good work by Tebow 38,1/2 vert tied for highest ever even beating michal Vick, good forty to. Tebow is built lke a linebaker. Every year some huge white guy always has a huge jump. Disiponted in the fortys of McCoy, Shipley, and Cooper.

If you watch track like I do, you would understand that good form, keeping your head down, and exploding out of your start is very important. The first 10-20 yards you are staying low with a good body lean and your head down. The drive phase is so important. I thought that our guys looked good but did not really stay in their drive phase properly. For anyone though that thinks Jordan Shipley can't run, I would tell them to watch his football hilite reel. The guy can fly.

well one reason he could have ran a 4.57, bad form, you are in a 3 point stance and have to come out of it, running on the football field is different than track, plus nerves. Blacks want to claim they do low on iq tests because of the pressure, well theres the pressure for Whites to be sub 4.5

EDIT: white lightning beat me to it about the formEdited by: dwid

I was thinking the same thing about the possibility of the pressure, knowing that they are considered inferior and have to prove themselves. I saw some study where white students were told right before they took a math test that Asians do much better than white people and they would be getting compared to Asians....their scores dropped something like 15%.

Tebow had a decent time, but what I consider most impressive was his start. When he took off I thought, "wow, he's looking fast," and the commentator pretty much said the same thing, then Tebow seemed to slow down the more he ran. You'd much rather have a guy be faster in his first 10 yards than last 30. You combine that with his vertical and it shows the explosiveness that will allow him to be at least as effective as Vince Young running the ball in the NFL.

I think the pressure does get to some of them, but of course dwfs would scoff at that idea. The 40 yard time is ridiculous, these guys are proven on the field. The one White guy that could have definitely gotten 4.3 didn't get invited, Jake Sharp. I think these guys will probably put up 4.4's during their pro day when there isn't as much pressure. However the dwfs will believe that pressure to perform affects some of the black players, LaFell ran a 4.6 even and Gilyard who promised he would run a 4.35 ran a 4.56, and they marked it down to "nerves" and bad form

I agree the first 10 yards are most important. Yeah people don't realize how explosive Tebow is, he doesn't look it on the field because of long strides but he is. He has tons of runs in the 10 to 20 yard range. You are right his vertical shows that he is explosive, but people are so hung up on 40 yard times, when the record for 30+yard td runs in a season is 7, stood at 6 for the longest time with Jim Brown. And the 40 yard times only matter when an afflete does well, if he doesnt its "hes fast on the football field", Whites don't get that same treatment. Toby Gerhart also has a great burst, 50 runs for over 10 yards. I am thinking Tebow could actually be a halfback in the NFL if he wanted to. Id like to see him there, although many on here want to see him at quarterback.

I keep wondering why McGaha didnt run the 40? he had a 40 inch vertical and 10'2 broad jump, he could have ran a 4.4 with those numbers. Maybe he was injured, but you only hear of injuries to "big name affletes"

Edit: I think Shipley does have some issues with being nervous, he just slipped running a route which I have never seen him do in his career. He needs to calm down a little bit. I know he is probably upset over the 40. Some coaches think that players who get nervous during the combine will get nervous during game time, but its two totally different situations imo, espescially for Whites. We've seen all the articles about White players needing to prove themselves at the combine, although they are already proven on the football field. Shipley has always came up big in big games, McCoy went out during the National Championship and he still made big plays.Edited by: dwid

i think they said mcgaha pulled his hamstring, but they just quickly mentioned it in passing, so it seemed like it wasn't that severe.

Shipley posted 4.57

As I posted earlier today, the actual 40 times are usually slower than expected.
I know they are, but a White running that speed deems him as a slot/possession receiver. A black running that time means nothing.

I just don't see how Cooper dropped from 4.35 to 4.52, that is a huge difference, usually a 4.3 guy runs a 4.4 electronically, I was expecting around a 4.45

I think caste football members should post the RECORD SETTING vertical of Tebow on every article they can about him, especially if his 40 time becomes a negative talking point of the msm. For a guy that size to jump that high is sick. Incredible, incredible athlete. Although verticals are nowhere near as important in the NFL as speed, the stereotypes that "Whit Men Can't Jump" is just as prevalent as the speed stereotype. With a name as big as Tebow, this is a great opportunity to chip away at that myth.Edited by: Fightingtowin

Ok the 40 yard dash for RBs is coming up shortly. I am missing a glorious Ca early afternoon to watch Toby run well. Man, kinda of nervous. Toby has got to at least get in the mid 5s to hold back the media and DWFs scorn/ridicule. I have lowered my expectations base on our guys forty times. If he hits anywhere in the 4s it will be outstanding.

Toby said he should be in the 4s so that is great. Go Toby

The announcers were impressed with Toby's run, considering he is big back. One announcer is annoying. He has a lisp and sounds like Rudy Guolieani.
