All hail the Duke (White)Devils!
smiley32.gif

I watched the game with a quasi-DWF buddy (old HS pal) at a sports bar. He was (obviously) pulling against Duke & I was razing him with anti-caste/pro-White comments. The table across from us had some hardcore DWF voraciously pulling against Duke. On the last free throws from Zoubek, the DWF yelled out... "come on White boy, miss that shot!!!". Needless to say the (fat@$$) DWF was upset by the game's outcome.
smiley36.gif
To no surprise, (right after the game) some "bruvah" came up to the DWF's table & started shaking hands/huggin' with the DWF & his pals. Typical "afflete" worshiping, bruvah @$$-kissing race traitor!

I wonder if B.Hussein will cancel their visit to the White House. He'll probably engineer some crisis in Nigeria that demands his presence.

Watching ESPN's analysis of the game, Digger Phelps just said that teams should forget the black superstars and recruit 4 year white players instead. Of course, he spoke in code, but his meaning was clear. Then Hubert Davis disagreed and said Butler and Duke were only in the final because all the best black players leave college for the NBA after one year. It somehow skipped his notice that there were teams in the tournament this year that had those types of players on their roster.
Huh how does Hubert Davis come up with that zinger considering he played on the Duke teams that went back to back? So his team that upset the near alltime great(can't nominate a team that can't close the show) UNLV team was a bunch of overachievers too?

I actually found out he played on rival NC now it makes sense......

I may have to change my opinion of Len Elmore. He was talking about the white kids using terms almost exclusively reserved for black players. And he did it all game. I was actually enjoying the announcing, which is probably rarer than seeing white players in the finals.

I was rooting for Duke because they are SO white. And when they were celebrating on the podium, there wasn't a camera angle available that didn't show all the white players enjoying the moment.

As the game went on it was obvious to everyone watching that white players can shake n' bake, slash n' dash and take it to the rack as well as any bruva.
This was not a couple of stiff white players used for their bulk playing but future NBA stars.

It was a great night and a great tournament from start to incredible finish. Edited by: GWTJ

That's fine that Duke won, they were the better team. Duke players need to win in college becuase they can't win in the NBA. Besides Elton Brand, Carlos Boozer, and Grant Hill most of the players that come from Duke cannot make it in the NBA. Christian Lattner, Bobby Hurley Jr., J.J. Reddick, Mike Dunleavey Jr., Cherokee Parks, Steve Wojcichowski, Chris Collins, Greg Paulus, and Danny Ferry, they either fizzled out in the NBA or did not evn make to the NBA. Duke players are good in college, but that's all they are good at. Let Duke and their fans celebrate the national championship, becuase after college none of Duke's players will be a contributor on a championship team in the NBA. - Jamie S

The hating will never stop I'm afraid (sight!).

Still, My utmost congratulations to both Duke and Butler, in what might be the NCAA Final of the DECADE, or maybe of the CENTURY!!!

This is indeed the best and most exciting NCAA Final I've seen in ages. So wonderful to see a team like Duke to win it all, considering Obama is POTUS. I'll enjoy and treasure this moment for a very long time!

A perfect ending to both Jon Scheyer and Brian Zoubek. I see the NBA calling both these dudes in. Scheyer has what it takes in becoming a solid NBA player, while Zoubek might become a serviceable one. Singler is no doubt a prime-time NBA propsect, and he will obviously return for his senior year, along with Nolan Smith. Hayward is the real deal, a bonafide NBA prospect who needs to stay all the way, along with Matt Howard.

Way to go DUKE!!!!

This final should help the white players coming up to realize maybe they can reach a higher level than a lot of people think they can.

And maybe, just maybe, it might get some coaches to sign that white kid so they don't miss out on the next Kyle Singler or John Scheyer. Or Brian Zoubek. Or Gordon Hayward. Or Matt Howard. Or Miles and Mason Plumlee.

The Hock is right! If there is a new jolter for the next generation of white ballers, it's the Duke-Butler game.

I want to post this video of Kyle Singler from last year. He was the MVP of the 2010 Final Four and he led Duke to a national championship. This kid will be back for his senior year and I expect him to be a top 10 pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. This kid has talent beyond belief. He can create his own shot, take you off the dribble and he also shoots the lights out. Kyle does not back down from a challenge and he even has some trash talking in his game similar to Larry Bird. I'm hoping that he will become an All Star in the NBA. He has the talent to if he can go to the right team. Enjoy the video guys.

I am pleased as blue punch at the White Devils' achievement (and Duke wears my HS' colors to boot! [Unfortunately, so does Kentucky.]). However, I must rain on the parade by quoting giantsfan on http://the506.com/yabb/YaBB.pl?num=1270486034/11#11 :

I heard this from both Colin Cowherd on ESPN Radio and Evan Roberts (the only Nets fan I know of) on WFAN. New Nets' owner Mikhail Prokharov (hope I spelled that right) is very interested in signing Coach K as his head coach.

I agree with everyone what a great difference it makes in watching these games. Hayward may have miseed a lot of shots but he showed his athleticism and skills--magical player AND LOTTERY PICK.. And Scheyerwas strong and of course mvp mini Larry Bird was terrific. Makes me want to watch and enjoy sports again. And anyone who says Duke is unathletic is blind. The Plumlee brothers for eg are super leapers.

whiteBLUEeyedDEVIlS 2009, 2010, whiteBLUEeyedDEVIls for ever!!!!

My favorite play of the game was Schayer smacking the ball out of the affelet going for an uncontested lay up, or so he thought.

Today is a great day to bask in White atheletic excellence.

To be fair Sunshine the Plumlee brothers are called athletic by commentators and even most DWF's. It's Scheyer who takes a lot of crap for his supposed lack of athleticism.

I wanted Duke to win, but what if that last, halfcourt shot went in?

The game is already an all-time great, but d**m... If that buzzerbeater went in, thrown by another "white boy" -- what a moment that would have been.

I am as big a Duke fan as there is but I wondered as well if it would have been better from a Caste perspective if Hayward had made that mid-court miracle shot. I think it would have replaced the Laettner Kentucky shot as the all time miracle basket in the NCAA tournament. But oh well, very excited about Duke's national championship although my immediate reaction after the game was one of relief.

I actually thought Duke would blow Butler out just like they did to West Virginia. I didn't watch the game because I fell asleep at 9 pm. Gotta get up at 4 am and hit that gym so it was worth the zzz's!

ESPN ran an article the other day saying Coach K had ZERO interest in that job.

So what? Who cares about the NBA? College basketball, as unappealing as it has become, still stands on its own merit. It is not -- and does not have to be -- a feeder system for the NBA, judged or legitimized with NBA ties. Duke won. There is no "but..."

I agree with guest301--it was vital for Duke to win--so as to avoid the "choker" label, and because they are symbolically the white team.

I was hoping for something like a Duke 7-point victory, close enough so that Butler's honor is strong, but large enough so that people could see the excellence of Duke stand out. But I will definitely take this...another national championship for the white, preppy, team-basketball, 4-year, 100% graduation all-stars. And honor to Butler, and its great white players---hope to see a championship from them soon!

I was disappointed that Butler's coach played 4/5 black lineup most of the game. I realize Howard was in foul trouble, but Butler's top two guys off the bench were black. So, 5/7 black is nothing special. So, I was definitely rooting for Duke as 5 of its top 7 players were white.

on Espn they did a poll on if people thought it was the best NCAA basketball championship game ever. 46 percent of the nation voted yes. These are mostly dwfs that are glued to ESPN non stop that vote on this.

That is pretty good that almost half of them thought it was the best championship game. The woman on the show said it was a great game and she was glued to her seat but the man was saying it put him to sleep. I guess not enough affletes for him.Edited by: dwid

Well said by so many...yall about covered it all! Congrats to BOTH teams...
smiley32.gif

But most of all Congrats to Duke!! Hearing the he unathletic thing gets to these guys..it works in their favor; it only adds fuel to the fire!
smiley7.gif

Scheyer has moxieplays with attitude! He's my favorite player on the team! Zoubek was the perfect missing link with his nastiness and tenacity off the glass & in the paint! The Plumlees are very athletic; I see many futuregorilla-dunks/blocked shots into the 5th row and many goal-tending calls from 2 ft above the rim..this wasn't like some of the softer Duke teams of the past....Singler has a nice all-round game...even suprised me with his Defense! Just knew he would bounce-back STRONG after the Baylor game!!

Props to Elmore..and Anthony...nothing but the utmost respect will do; they should nothing but luv...this was a bench-mark statement epic-classic! The near 1/2 court shot at the buzzer was theperfectending; a movie could not have written it any better...Singler played Heyward tough all night ...Heyward is a tough dude to bounce off the floor after the hard foul by Thomas! Heyward is a smooth operator!

PROPS to Matt Howard...for playing despite the concussion he suffered Sat vs MSU...don't think he was at 100%...and for the NASTY pick at the end that floored Singler to free Heywardnear-mid-court at the buzzer...

Duke played 5 whites to 3...Butler played 3 whites to 5

One black man in ROTC told me today that it wasn't fair...Duke's bracket was too easy
