UConn's streak is over at 90 games ... defeated by nearly all-White Stanford.

fearless senior guard Jeanette Pohlen scored31, pulled down 10 rebounds,and dominated the game in every facet, leading her team in a display of poise, aggressiveness, and execution as she cut UConn's heart out.

Stanford finished the game with 4 White women on the floor, as they played much of the game and much of the year. in fact, the two Nigerian sisters are the only non-White women in the regular8-player rotation for the Cardinal.

congratulations to Stanford, and my hat is off to UConn for doing such an incredible feat. all streaks come to an end, and they certainly made their run with a lot of poise and respect for the game (and not a few White women, i should add).

Fredette had another huge game for BYU leading them to another win. He put in a season high 34 points. Most of them came in the 2nd half. The coach of Buffalo said he is the best basketball player he has ever seen and he will score 50 on anyone if you are not careful. Quite a compliment. The BYU Cougars are now 16th in the country and should move a little higher soon. They only have 1 loss all year long. Way to go Cougars.

Olek Cyz had a good game tonight for Nevada. Josh Harrellson had a huge game for Kentucky against Louisville (23 points and 14 boards). All he needed was an opportunity..

And USC defeats WSU by a score of 60-56. Tennessee lost to College of Charleston...

Speaking of Kentucky.. if "benchwarmer" Daniel Orton did not leave early, he would likely be getting the minutes that Harrellson is getting, no doubt. Also, their (bigman) recruit from Turkey was ruled ineligible..

I think that Harrellson will continue to get good minutes when they are in SEC play. I first saw him a couple year's ago, and he has legit size.

you have to wonder why Jon Hood can't get any minutes for Kentucky ... the guy is literally a lights-out scorer, a much better athlete than given credit for (no surprise there), and rumor has it that he did a great job of guarding John Wall in practice all of last year. at 6-7, the two-guard can defend multiple positions and score off the dribble, from spotting up or coming off a screen, or in transition above the rim ... or, at least he could if he could actually get some time on the floor.

it makes you wonder whata White athletehas to do in order to get some minutesif all of the above (and being named the Gatorade Player of the Year for Kentucky) doesn't earn you any run ...

Gotta like Butler, they've been starting from what I see three white guys in their lineup against Wash. State. Matt Howard, Andrew Smith, and Zach Hahn. Hopefully, they'll make a nice tourney run. I think Smith has looked good when I've seen him play. He's averaging 4-5 rebounds a game and 7 points, not bad considering he's playing with Matt Howard and Shelvin Mack.

Butler just offered a super-tough white point guard from Lansing, a junior, Chris Harrison-Docks. His dad, Chris Harrison, played at Kentucky, but the younger one is more like another Chris, Corchiani.

i had the chance to watch Korey Van Dussen the other day, when UNC Greensboro played Duke. i'd never heard of this kid, but he is someone i will certainly keep an eye on in the future.

UNCG is a terrible team and were in completely over their heads against the Blue Devils ... all except for Van Dussen, who didn't appear the least bit intimidated by the Duke uniform or the "five star" talent. he effortlessly created off the dribble, either for his teammates or for himself, routinely getting in the lane against the "superior" Duke guards. he not only had an excellent (old school looking) outside shot and terrific passing ability, but he also has perfected the Tony Parker teardropto finish amongst the trees. Van Dussen was the only player wearing UNCG gold that belonged on the floor against the Blue Devils.

I see a lot of Jason Williams in the Van Dussen kid, even though he could be better than him. He's got J-Will's flair and nasty shooting range, and their assist-TO ratio is identical, but Van Dussen is a much better finisher. If J-Will made it, so can this kid, he just needs to complete his college tourney-education.

Josh Harrellson is a big surprise, only because of Enes Kanter's eligibility issue. He's actually the team's best big-man available, since Vargas Eloy isn't showing much. He'll make the most of his final year.

Jimmer Fredette continues to amaze me, I don't see how he's not NBA material. Only a fool would ignore this guy on draft day and sadly, such fools control the NBA.

I'm gonna keep track of Butler this year again, they could reach the finals again for repeat match with Duke.

Could hardly believe this -- Thad Matta said Ohio St. freshman pg Aaron Craft had "elite lateral quickness." This kid will be a star, imagine he'll score a bunch as an upperclassman. See a lot of Mateen Cleaves in him.

The Tim Abromaitis / Ben Hansbrough combo is certainly deadly and fun to watch.

I have watched at least ten of Notre Dame's games this season and they will clearly finish in the top ten in my opinion. They are tough, play great man to man and zone defense and Hansbrough routinely breaks down other guards off the dribble. Tim Abromatis is seen as their best player and Scott Martin has gotten healthier and his production has improved the last seven games or so. They could use some better inside play as Carlton Nash is the only one that can be counted on in the paint although Harangody lookalike Jack Cooley works hard, bangs people around and gets alot of putbacks.

i just got in and turned on the idiot box, (how am i still logged on, by the way?) and there's a really good game on ESPN. it's already in the second half, but mostly-White Wisconsin is going at it with mostly-black Michigan State.

both teams are currently in the Top-25, but both have excellent coaches. by the way, i'm a big fan of Wisconsin's smooth forward Jon Leuer. he's got everything an NBA general manager wants: size, length, and athleticism. he's smooth, hard to guard, and versatile on both ends of the floor. but the All-American candidate is not an elite leaper, and he's an American-born White man ... so it'll be interesting to see what happens with him.

i don't know if anyone else caught the game, but it was a grind-it-out nailbiter that eventually went into overtime. Michigan State was at home, and the home-court advantage (crowd and a couple of iffy calls) gave them the edge down the stretch as they win a very close one over the Badgers.

since i don't have enough time (sadly) to start another "long and athletic" thread, i figured this would be as good a place as any to add this young man ...

LSU's Garrett Green is a long and athletic, 6-11 junior forward who is really coming on of late. like so many White athletes, he is a late bloomer, and his best basketball is still ahead of him. he is finally growing into his body, and the added strength to go with his leaping ability and size is beginning to show some dramatic results.

in his last game out, against Auburn, Green was 9-of-11 from the floor, most of which were dunks. it was his second consecutive double digit-scoring game. his minutes have improved since the middle of December, and the results have been stellar. tonight against Arkansas, he has 8 points and 8 rebounds at halftime ... including a nasty posterization ofRazorback big man Marshawn Powell.

it will be interesting to see A) if his black teammates begin to feed him the ball (as most of his buckets come in transition or off offensive rebounds) and B) if he continues to see his minutes go up with his improved production. if so, he is a good one to keep an eye on, as his length, mobility, andleaping ability are very impressive. additionally,he has tremendous upside, as he is still very raw.

Green was the best player on the floor last night in the LSU-Arkansas game in only his second start. despite his darker-hued teammates not getting him the ball oftene enough (which is no surprise), he still managed another double-double with 10 points and a game-high 10 rebounds. his 3 big dunks appeared to rattle the Arkansas bigs. he also only had 1 turnover in 34, while chipping in 1 assist, 1 blocked shot, and 1 steal.

LSU also has a freshman wing that should have a bright future. Matt Derenbecker is 6-7 and rail-thin, but he has more than just a sweet long range jumper. his 3s weren't falling against the Hogs, so he took his game off the dribble and scored in the lane, where he went 5-for-5 on the night (he was 0-4 from long range) while adding 6 boards, 2 assists, and 2 steals in a game-high 38 minutes.

Derenbecker, a two-time Louisiana Gatorade Player of the Year, will only get better as his body matures. but he showed in only his second-ever start, that LSU has an offensive player to be reckoned with in coming years.

i wonder how long it's been since LSU started two White ball players ... but they've won both games with the two White Tigers running the floor from the opening tip. keep an eye out for Derenbecker and Green down on the Bayou.

Blake Hoffarber is almost-singlehandedly keeping Minnesota in the game tonight against #8-ranked Purdue. he is playing some terrific basketball.

seeing as how the best player on the Somalian-gophers is actually a White kid from Minnesota, i wonder why Tubby Smith doesn't recruit more players like Blake ... oh yeah, if i recall correctly, Blake committed to Minnesota before Tubby was hired there. so Smith didn't even recruit him. pathetic.

as it turns out, most of the good White kids from Minnesota end up playing for Wisconsin. and beating Minnesota-east Africa.

Did anyone watch yesterday's USC/Oregon game?.. Several absolutely TINY blacks running around on the court and mucking things up with turnovers and terrible "passing"... wow...

If USCs affletes had fed Vucevic early-and-often around the basket, thus creating rhythm and purpose, USC would have won.

Instead, what happened is, Vucevic came on strong in the latter part of the game with quick-passes (to his open "teammates") and some sweet offensive put-backs, but, by then, it was a little too late for USC.

P.S. -- It looked like Vucevic had longer arms than some of the bruthas whole bodies!!

Louisville rallied furiously, outscoring all-black Marquette 24-5 in the last 5 minutes of the game. Guard Preston Knowles had 12 points in the rally, and Kyle Kuric scored the game winning bucket on a great pass from Knowles. Louisville won, 71-70.

Arkansas' Rotnei Clarke once again carried the Razorbacks to a victory, this time against the Oil Spill of Alabama (they are certainly too black to be the 'Crimson' Tide). Clarkehit the decisive go-ahead bucketwith less than a minute left in the game, beating his man off the dribble and getting into the lane before hitting a beautiful pull-up floater in the eye of Bama's big man.

Clarke, the Razorbacks' best player,is the only White starter for head coach John Pelphrey, and one of only two White players on scholarship. i find it especially disturbing that Pelphrey, who won so many games with Kentucky asone of the four"Unforgettables" (three of whom were White players: Pelphrey, Richie Farmer, and Deron Feldhaus), would not now, as a head coach,offer a scholarship toany of these Kentucky basketball legends ... not even himself.

i have even pointed out his racially-biased talent evaluationsagainst White players to him in a face-to-face dialogue. needless to say, he doesn't seem to think my factual observations are relevant ... so he continues recruiting (almost exclusively) black affletes and eschewing more talented White ball players.not coincidentally,his teams continue to suck something fierce.

Only watched a little of the game -- Oregon court too distracting! Don't know how he played this game, but one of USC's really tiny black players is Maurice Jones, a freshman from Saginaw who I've watched since he was in jr. high. He's actually really good, but has been playing 40 minutes a night since November and is bound to hit the wall. I respect the kid because of the odds being that short, and does it without being a total jacker like Tajuan Porter was at Oregon. He's a tough little bastard.

Jones' played kind of "wild" -- and BOTH teams' bruthas looked largely unimpressive.

For example, Oregon built a good lead and then their bruthas were throwing some really awful passes that went for turnovers. If anyone thinks that ALL blacks are "elite" at basketball, then they are really blind!
