2009 World Championship of Track & Field

in the ongoing Jamaican sprint-medal tally ...
1 in the women's 200 meter (as well as 5th and 6th place)
0 in the men's 400 meters; the only sprint final without at least 1 Jamaican.
1 in the 4x100 women's relay (gold)
1 in the 4x100 men's relay (gold) and a Championship Record

so, out of 33 sprint medals the Jamaicans, and their famous yams, have won 11.

They only got the medal however because the US was disqualified.
Shamefully, it was the British team that complained and had them disqualified, very unsportsmanlike and not very British at all.

Perhaps this new found ruthlessness comes from Charles van Commenee, who doesn't realise that snitching is simply not cricket.

Sadly that is sport today. The Aussie mens 4 x 1 missed out on a finals berth in the last world champs (I think it was) when the Italians put in a protest for the same reasons. And I don't have a doubt in the world the Americans (yes the Aussies too) would do it every time. Edited by: mastermulti

here she is their best 200 runner and she dosen't want to run the turn. what a bitch.

One thing I never saw mentioned is the absolutely poor performance of the American 4x100 relay teams once again. You would think they would have fixed the problems after the Beijing debacle, but they botched the whole thing again, what an embarassement.
