Here are the white starters for the Mustangs this year. The Mustangs started 10 whites last year, 11 in 2007, 8 in 2006, and 8 in 2005. At least the Mustangs have been staying in double digits for the past couple of years.

Offense

QB Bo Levi Mitchell

RB Bryce Lunday - in a fight for the position

WR Cole Beasly

LG Josh LeRibeus

C Mitch Enright

RG Jesse Andrews

RT J.T. Brooks

Defense
DE Taylor Thompson

OLB Patrick Fleming

ILB Pete Fleps

they have a white running back a sophmore that could start or at least split carries Bryce Lunday who is now a sophmore.

Thank you, WP.

I overlooked him when I was reading the preview for SMU. I'll add him to the list of potential starters.

SMU was my favorite college football team growing up in Dallas before the whole death penalty thing came down from The NCAA and finished off the program. It's taken the program a long time to right itself but it appears to be on the right track now. Too bad there is no Southwest Conference anymore.

wide receiver Cole Beasly, mentioned above, is an extraordinary athlete. he's only 5-9, but he's got a 42-inch vertical.

Yes that's a nice vertical leap but he's got no hang time! Typical of a white athlete to jump up and come back down just as quick while the average black athlete jumps in the air, defies gravity, hangs three seconds and comes back down.

Well, he's really at a huge disadvantage, seeing as how the blacks have those anti-gravity hips.

Lunday caught my eye last year when he ran the ball against Navy. He looked pretty good even though he hadn't played a down in a game before that. Acording to the SMU site, after the Navy game he played in the final four games and started against Memphis.

Multiple offender and crybaby WR Justin Willis has quit the SMU football team upon learning that he did not make first team WR. Willis had been recovering from a broken fibula and has not practiced since the Spring.

Your formatting gave credit to the wrong person. That wasn't my statement. I just quoted someone above.

Yeah, that was Guest301 who said that. Definitely a funny comment, but it was a funny response by you as well Riddlewire.

The best we can do sometimes is make humor out of the ridiculous situation. The stereotype that white men can't jump when 8 of the top 11 high jumpers of all time are white men is ludicrous. Whites are also the 2nd best indoor long jump all time and we're only 1% off the record for outdoor long jump and commonly win medals there. It's not hard to see it's a lie and that the emperor in fact has no clothes.

Glad you guys thought that was funny. It's sort of the Rush Limbaugh way of "illustrating absurdity by being absurd". To add to the stats TJR posted above, lets not forget retired triple jumper Jonathan Edwards who if I am not mistaken holds the world record for jumping 60 feet. Not bad for a white dude!

SMU released their two deep roster for the first game of the season. Both runningbacks are white.
RB1 - Zach Line
RB2 - Bryce Lunday

Sadly, I think this is just a procedural move on Jones's part. He's waiting for the NCAA to clear some paperwork on his intended starting RB, JR Shawnbrey McNeal (black, obviously). And another black JR RB, Chris Butler, has been left off the roster for "reasons unknown" currently.
Line is a grayshirt true freshman. I'm guessing that Jones knows he won't play and is just sticking him at RB1 so Zach can have something to show his family and friends, even if for just a day or two. Lunday might get some carries in the game, though. And he will almost certainly line up at receiver on a few snaps.

Interesting info, Riddlewire. You are probably correct in saying it won't last through the first game, but I hope neither of the blacks play Saturday and that both white athletes get some carries.

Yep, McNeal was granted a waiver by the NCAA to play immediately. He transferred to SMU this summer from Miami. He won't have to sit out a season and Jones says he will start today.
No reason for the waiver was given (mitigating personal circumstances was the claim). My guess is that the NCAA was breaking out in hives at the thought of a D1A team starting two white runningbacks, so they cleared McNeal to diffuse the situation.
