I remember back in 2004 when Roethlisberger went on that amazing run and Chris hoke played at DT, he was so much better than Hampton (This is in response to Don Wassal's above post)

Hampton is listed at 325 but I'm sure he's closer to 350. He is a very average DT yet he has been to 4 Pro Bowls. Kind of makes you think.

For his nine year career, Pro Bowler Hampton has but 164 tackles (and 122 assisted tackles), and a paltry total of only 7.5 sacks. In Mike Tomlin's first training camp, Hampton was so out of shape that Tomlin told him not to participate until he lost some weight.

Guess which one is Hampton?

I've been looking around on various sites related to the Steelers to try and get a handle on the many reasons the team has fallen apart this season.

We've discussed some of the personnel issues-from the aging, injury-depleted defense to the talent-challenged offensive line.

The seemingly poor drafts of Mike Tomlin and Kevin Colbert have been talked about as well.

But there has to be something more behind the scenes and especially in the locker room.

Are the blacks on offense jealous of Big Ben's fame and contract and not playing hard enough for him, especially the black sumos up front?

For as much as I admire his toughness and talent, does Big Ben need to come down a notch or two in the arrogance department?

Is time proving that Mike Tomlin is not a good coach, a poor leader, and a weak disciplinarian? Does he completely lack the respect of the players?

Did too many of the players become "fat cats" once again after a Super Bowl title?

Have any of you guys read something elsewhere you'd like to add?

503 yards for Big Ben! I never thought I'd see the day whena Steelers QB threw for that many yards. It used to be rare for Terry Bradshaw to throw for 300 yards, much less sniff 400.

I just looked up Terry Bradshaw's stats. He had 7 300 yard games, and 3 of those were in the playoffs, 2 being Super Bowls in which Bradshaw was MVP. Bradshaw completed 17 of 30 for 318 yards and 4 TD's as the Steelers beat Dallas in Super Bowl XIII. This was Bradshaw's first game of over 300 yards passing in the Super Bowl after 1978, his 9th season.

Until the 1978 rules changes which opened up the passing game, the 1970's were a defensive era.

Here is Tomlin's attempt to justify the onsides kick:

"Based on the way the game was going in the second half, first of all I thought with the element of surprise we had a chance to get it, but if we didn't get it and they were to score, then we would have the necessary time on the clock to score or match their score.

"We had 30 minutes of evidence that we could drive the ball on them. We also conversely had 30 minutes of evidence to show they could also drive the ball on us. That's why we took the risk when we did."

Read: Our defense sucks without Aaron Smith and Troy Polamalu, so let's pretty much give them an easy chance to score because OF COURSE we can go back down the field and get whatever points we need-be it 3 or 7-to win in the end.

It took so much luck and great plays by Big Ben and Mike Wallace to pull the game out with no time left on the clock.

Mike Tomlin is clueless.

Is it me or is Big Ben's 503 yards another day at the Office? If it was one of the "gifted affeletic black quarterbacks" I am sure that it would be comparable to Mose's parting of the Red Sea!

The Steelers have placed 2008 #2 draft pick super afflete flop Limas Sweed on the inactive list for the rest of the season.

One would think that Tyler Grisham would continue to get worked into the rotation as the #4/#5 receiver like the past two games.

But now it looks like the team will sign fossil Joey Galloway for the final two games.

With Ward, Holmes, Wallace, return man Logan, and Galloway on the 53-man roster at WR, this probably signals a return to the practice squad for Grisham.

No surprise for white WRs in the NFL.

Tomlin, develop a white WR? Hah, never. Anywar, it is official, the Steelers signed Grandpa Galloway.

Even though Grisham will likely be back to the PS, there is a small chance he could stick to the roster. I thought the Steelers wanted to develop younger players. Oh wait, Grisham doesn't have the right pigment.

So typical of this anti-White organization. It is becoming tough to be a fan of this team. The DWFs on the Steeler board I lurk at were in total panic mode about this. "Oh nooo, we can't go with Grisham! We need to pick up an afflete, post haste!!!"

Of course, when it came to Limas Sweed, they were all for throwing him in the mix to get his reps and develop. And no matter how many balls he dropped, they always wanted Tomlin to give him another chance, fully believing in their caste-washed minds that Sweed was a sleeper hall of famer and not the pigskin allergic bust that was evident to me rather quickly.

I may have to sign up on this board just to defend some of these athletes, like Grisham. It never seems to cross their (the DWFs) minds he could be the next Wes Welker, for all they know. And Welker is 100 times better than any of the receivers the Steelers have at this time.

Grisham remains ahead of Joey Galloway until the newly signed veteran becomes more familiar with the offense. A slot receiver type, Grisham is a smallish receiver with good quickness and hands but lacking in deep speed.

And in a shocker, the Steelers sign black retread Antwann Randle El. Will the signing of black scrubs ever end? Randle El isn't even relevent anymore.

Randle El, going on 31, had 50 catches for 530 yards in 16 games last year. He isn't going to make plays down the field and has lost most of his burst on punt returns, but can still contribute off the bench as a slot receiver. The odds remain heavily against him ever being a fantasy factor again. The move is another sign that Limas Sweed won't be on Pittsburgh's 2010 roster.

I didn't know the Steelers signed another worthless scrub WR besides Randle El. I doubt we'll here anything more about Tyler Grisham for a while, if ever, now.

Steelers signed WR Arnaz Battle to a three-year, $3.9 million contract. The deal includes a $975,000 signing bonus.

Battle, 30, caught five balls for 40 yards in 14 games last year, his lowest totals since 2003. He'll play special teams in Pittsburgh and push Limas Sweed for the No. 4 receiver job. Also offering punt return value, Battle won't threaten Mike Wallace's No. 3 spot behind Santonio Holmes and Hines Ward.

Bringing in Arnaz Battle with the idea of him improving their special teams doesn't bother me as much as the Randle El signing. He's not an impact player as a WR anymore, and he can't return kicks as well. With Hines Ward, Santonio Holmes, and Mike Wallace entrenched in the first 3 WR spots, I can already foresee Randle El moanin' and groanin' through the season because of so few catches.

The team would've been better off using Ty Grisham in a back-up role.

Sure am relieved to see the team has decided to bring back Charlie Batch for another year or two.

There's no reason to sign another veteran who can stay healthy and actually play a litte. No sirree!

And the team wouldn't actually think about drafting a quality play out of college and think about developing him for a few years down the road.

If Big Ben goes down due to injury this upcoming season, or he's out for an extended period because of the lawsuits, the Steelers will be screwed. Plain and simple.

How nice and tidy. Black skin privilege prevails again as chronically arrested afflete Santonio Holmes has an assault case cleaned up within 24 hours. Quite a contrast from the prolonged media circus that takes place when a prominent White player like Big Ben (or Matt Jones) is involved.
The criminal case involving Santonio Holmes and the woman suing him in civil court was closed after the woman declined to press charges. The two appeared to resolve their differences after holding a private discussion away from police. While also refusing medical attention, the woman declared that she did not want to press charges or get Holmes into trouble. Regardless, the meeting hasn't stopped the woman from seeking a cash settlement from Holmes.

From Rotoworld: Steelers DE Travis Kirschke is expected to retire this offseason. There had been no previous indication of Kirschke's plans. The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review offhandedly tucked the information into a report about Nick Eason's re-signing. Still, Kirschke turns 36 just prior to the start of the season and is coming off nagging injuries to his calf and ankle the past two years.

Been following him since he came out of HS (labeled as a "mad-man") and went to UCLA....Will definetly miss him if he does retire...he's a warrior...at 36 on the D-Line the wear & tear is brutal...sorry he played his prime years with the lowly Lions.

For some reason the NFL Combine only saw it fit to invite "ONE" D-Lineman..seems as if they want to make players like Kirschske to go way of the dinosaur...at least yhe next few years look a little more promising.

The Steelers are mimicking Jacksonville from a couple of seasons ago. Looks like an all-black QB trio during Ben's suspension and all year if he's traded to the Raiders or another team. It should thrill all the DWFs who've turned on Big Ben with a vengeance.
Steelers signed QB Byron Leftwich to a one-year extension through 2011. Leftwich was previously under control only through 2010 at a base salary of $2 million. Financial terms of the new deal are undisclosed. Leftwich, 30, will most likely wind up competing with Charlie Batch to be Dennis Dixon's backup during Ben Roethlisberger's 4-6 game suspension. Dixon has two years in the system, and showed starting-caliber ability in 2009 spot action.

Im hoping Roethlisberger does get traded. They were unable to win a Super Bowl since the 70s without him. Colbert and Tomlin are huge caste whores...no suprise there so its not a suprise to see this team becoming potentially 100% black.
