This is the blackest team in the league. 7 total whites on the team not countin the long snapper, kicker and punter. Good ole Andy Reid really did it this time.

Donovan McNabb is holding up Brent Celek's breakout season. The first three weeks of the season Celek had 22 catches for 247 yards and 3 tds. His two biggest games were with Kevin Kolb. Put McNabb back in and he has 1 catch for 5 yards today with the first quarter about to end.Edited by: celticdb15

check out this gem from rotoworld, and to be honest Maclin showed up but it seems like there's this visible venom and glee in the way they are cheering AGAINST Curtis:

"Rookie Jeremy Maclin went off for 142 yards and two touchdowns on six catches in Sunday's win over the Bucs.

It was nice knowing you, Kevin Curtis. With the veteran's knee still acting up, Maclin seized control of the starting No. 2 WR job with a really impressive game. He caught two bombs from McNabb, but also went over the middle and took big hits. Maclin will be inconsistent as the Eagles spread the ball around, but he's well worth a pickup in all leagues."

Ugh, I'm rooting against this team more than any other. The downfall of McNabb and that fat piece of crap Reid will be most welcome if/when it happens.

And again, Curtis helped the Caste system out a lot on this one. You mean to tell me he didn't know he was walking around with a target on his back once the team drafted Macklin? Every jock sniffer in the world was relishing the moment Curtis was sent back to his "natural" role as 3rd receiver. McNabb, Westbrook and Curtis all had injuries going into the bye. Until a few days ago, they all were supposedly "rested" and ready to play. McNabb and Westbrook-hardly "tough" guys when it comes to their numerous injuries-did play. Why didn't Curtis?

more from rotoworld:

"Eagles coach Andy Reid said "we'll see" when asked if Jeremy Maclin will be a permanent starter going forward.

"It was a great job by Jeremy. It's great to have two players that we know can play that well," Reid said. No matter what Reid says, we fully expect Maclin to be the starter. Curtis just can't seem to get over his knee injury and isn't quick or explosive when he's on the field. Maclin will be inconsistent in the Eagles' offense (see DeSean Jackson's one-catch performance Sunday), but the rookie is worth a roster spot in most leagues.

Related: Kevin Curtis "

i got to agree with bigunreal somewhat, but then again, it was damned if you do, damned if you don't scenario, had he played he would not be at full speed without a doubt, thus giving the media a clean shot at him. in a fair environment, Curtis would get a chance to keep his job, however now it might not even happen.

it's like Reed Doughty situation, he went down, black rook came on and snatched 2 interceptions and Reed only got his job back last week after a year. Curtis won't have the luxury of waiting, since he's not getting any younger.

here's another "update" on Curtis, suddenly it's the biggest story on rotoworld:

Eagles WR Kevin Curtis is still bothered by his sore knee and will be held out of practice for the next few days, coach Andy Reid said Monday.

Although Reid won't admit it yet, Curtis has probably lost his starting job to Jeremy Maclin. If/when Curtis gets healthy, he'd be a spot player. This is more good news for Maclin's fantasy prospects.

Curtis was widely criticized as the weak link of the team even after putting up 77/1,110/6 in 2007. The DWFs see having a white starting receiver as a sign of weakness, akin to a college team starting a white running back. You see it also in their attitudes toward white DBs.

Drew Bennett's great 2004 season was quickly forgotten when he didn't put up similar numbers after that. The DWFs were incapable of comprehending that Bennett's brief run of greatness came as a result of having Billy Volek at QB taking advantage of his ability rather than Steve McNairand Vince Young stifling it. And Volek is only an NFL journeyman. In Curtis's case, even when he was great he sucked in the eyes of the DWFs and the caste media.Edited by: Don Wassall

Curtis needs to get the hell out of there. He needs a different team, as long as it isn't TB or Washington. Heck, even the Cowboys would give him some time.

well, he just might get out of there:

According to Mike Lombardi of the National Football Post, the Eagles and Steelers will make Kevin Curtis and Limas Sweed available for trade this week.

The trade deadline is October 20. Lombardi also mentions Chiefs ILB Derrick Johnson as a player that potentially is available. A Curtis trade would move first-round pick Jeremy Maclin into the Eagles' starting lineup indefinitely, but the veteran's knee injury and contract will make him hard to move.

This reads like a bad National Lampoon script. Jeremiah Trotter was washed up at leastfour years ago. Clay Matthews Sr. has more left in the tank at this point than Trotter.

Unrestricted free agent Jeremiah Trotter said Tuesday that he thinks he'll be back with the Eagles in 2010. Trotter's return to the field last season was a disaster. He was completely exposed in coverage and did little to cure the Birds' run-stopping woes. As long as Stewart Bradley (torn ACL) is 100 percent when training camp comes around, we doubt the Eagles will give Trotter another chance.

Reid was fantasizing about a Cheese Steak or maybe a Hoagie...

Reid hasn't shown any regard for White skilled players. I don't think Gerhart will be on the Cheese Steak's radar. Edited by: white is right

I'd rather not see Gerhart end up in Philly either....but wherever he ends up...I am hopeful he gets his fair chance...RB's are at a premium this year.. I can see Gerhart with the Texans, Packers or 49ers...
Are the Eagles gonna dump McNabb & Vick off in favor of Kevin Kolb??

The Cheese Steak could use a big -O-Lineman in the draftlike 6'8" 315lbJared Veldheer from tiny Hillsdale...

The Eagles Defense will continue to suffer without Stewart Bradley.. ultra athletic 6'4 255 MLB! Hope he gets healthy...this is a Pro-Bowl caliber player that was in the process of taking it to the next level before the injury...before all is said an done he can be mentioned in the same breath as Urlacher if he stays healthy!

Kevin Curtis may not be back (and if he does only as a backup), and now this. The Eagles may be the blackest team in NFL history in 2010:

The Eagles will not match the Titans' one-year, $1 million offer sheet to free agent DE Jason Babin, according to beat writer Jeff McLane. With Darryl Tapp now in tow, the Eagles no longer have a rotational role for Babin. He'll add needed defensive end depth in Tennessee after the team lost Kyle Vanden Bosch and Javon Kearse.

All I can say is wow! I guess this team will rival the Miami Dolphins blackfest of a few years ago or maybe even worse.

It is shaping up to be Heremens, Celek, kickers, and that is it in Filthydelphia. I'm going to hate Fat Bastard more than ever this year.

Don't forget Stewart Bradley, who was on IR all of last season. At least he and Celek are stars, though Celek's production soared when Kevin Kolb started a few games early last year when McNabb was hurt. If McNabb isn't traded this will be Kolb's fourth season of rotting on the bench. Why did the Eagles waste a high draft pick on him?

Thanks Don, I forgot about Bradley since he didn't play last year. We also have Gocong as well.

Gocong (who is mixed), Bradley, Kolb, Celek, Heremens, kicker, punter and LS. Possibly Curtis and backup o-lineman Mike McGlynn. Right now we're looking at from7 to 10 on the '10 roster, plus the Draft and whatever other moves they may make (it's possible for example that Kolb may be traded). 9 is the all time low, by the Dolphins and Jaguars. The Brian Billick Ravens and Jim Haslet Saints were close to that for years but never dropped below 10.
Of course their cross-state rivals in Pittsburgh look ready to also challenge that dubious achievement in a couple of seasons as their white defensive players age and aren't replaced. Edited by: Don Wassall

Another permanently-injured black man, Marlin Jackson... http://espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=6472

News: Jackson ruptured his Achilles' tendon Tuesday, ESPN.com reports.
Spin: Jackson, who is coming off back-to-back ACL surgeries, suffered the injury during Tuesday's practice and will miss the season. Rookie Nate Allen, drafted in the second round out of South Florida, stepped in for Jackson, but it's unclear how defensive coordinator Sean McDermott will replace the veteran defensive back going forward.

What's with all these Achilles tendon injuries?
