The honor roll so far, for the sake of convenience:

1) Matthew Stafford
2) Mark Sanchez
3) Brian Cushing
4) Alex Mack
5) Clay Matthews
6) Eric Wood
7) James Laurinaitis
8) Eben Britton
9) Connor Barwin
10) Max Unger
11) Andy Levitre
12) Paul Kruger
13) Sebastian Vollmer

There are also three Polynesian players:
1) David Veikune(looks pretty white to me)
2) Rey Maulauga
3) Fili Moala

According to last year's NFL draft thread, there were 68 white men selected out of 252 total picks, a very slight uptick from 2007 when the numbers were 65/255.

I guess all we can do is hope for another very small increase in white men drafted again this year.

so 13 out of 64 picks? its too late for me, what percentage of that?

Im worried about the Patriots. but ive heard that they wont be able to keep all of those early draft picks and teams will work out deals to get some of those players they cant keep, something like that, maybe thats just optimism and a rumour. but hopefully its true and they are trying to get more gems in the later rounds.

For some reason i feel like this years first draft day is going to be one of the worst classes in a while. I feel like there will be lots of busts, more than usual.

I can't see too many of the high draft picks succeeding, its just a weak class when it comes to what the media says are the "elite players" ...not many stand out. Edited by: dwid

The jets continue to be the jets. Year after year, it never changes with them. Mangini really took them to the cleaners with the trade for Sanchez.

Im hoping the Saints plan on using Heath Evans as a short yardage back. Hes got good vision, has good burst, is strong, tough to take down. Hes in his 30's so hes not as good as he used to be but he can still grind out 4 to 5 tough yard carries a game and break off a few 20 yard runs from passes in the flats if the ball his thrown his way.

Its hard to gauge because the only games ive seen him play is garbage time carries when the Patriots were trying to run out the clock and the teams were knowing they were going to run.

A fair amount of draft "experts" had the Saints taking Chris Wells, so I was glad when they passed on him. It at least gives Evans a chance to be used as a running back near the goal line and on third and short situations, not that Evans doesn't have the talent to be a featured running back. Given how the Saints have screwed over white WRs it's still a wait and see situation.

BTW, the Patriots did use Evans as their starting tailback in a couple of games in '05, because of, what else, injuries to the four or five negro backs in front of him on the depth chart. Evans responded almost as well as Peyton Hillis, going 17 rushes for 84 yards against the Dolphins in Week 10, and then 16 for 74 against the Saints in Week 11, for a very solid 4.8 yards per rush average with no fullback blocking for him.Edited by: Don Wassall

I missed the draft for the first time in years and wasn't able to check on the results until right before bed. I was so

when I saw this I think it was the reason I had a hard time sleeping

I think there needs to be a letter to the editor campaign to Denver newspapers about Hillis. This is disgusting and a clear case of discrimination.

Now the Texans just selected sumo center Antoine Caldwell from Alabama. Hopefully the Chargers and Steelers don't screw these picks up.

Thanks Phillybirds, I forgot about him. Also the Chargers took Louis Vasquez out of Texas Tech, and the Steelers picked Kraig Urbik out of Wisconsin.

This would be like, say in the 1980s, a rookie black quarterback came in and avg. 270 yards passing 2 two tds a game for 6 games, then that team used their first round pick on a white quarterback to replace him. The world would be crying racism. Heck, even if that happened today, people would be crying racism. Yet I'm guessing you won't hear anything from the media with this.

He looks half black.

Yeah, I think you're right. Nevermind.

Scouts, Inc. now has Nate Davis as their 4th best QB available, behind Brian Hoyer (Michigan St.), Rhett Bomar (Sam Houston St.), and Stephen McGee (Texas A&M). Progress!

to the Steelers for drafting G Kraig Urbik from Wisconsin. He's the kind of player the team needs in the interior OL.

This is probably the only good news I'll get the rest of the day, though.

I'm no draft guru, but this one really seems weak to me in terms of standout players early on and overall quality. There have been so many reaches already that it makes me wonder if some of the teams understand what the draft is really about.

It's not looking good for white players through 3 rounds. Once we get into rounds 5-7, many of the whites drafted will get disposed of in the annual rite of ethnic cleansing called the NFL preseason, so it's hard to be encouraged thus far.

Now we need to have Collie go.

I agree Van, the only smart move the Steelers will make all day.

2008 Round 3:

8 white players drafted, 2 OTs, 2 TEs, 1 QB, 1 RB, 1 Safety, 1 LB

2009 Round 3:

3 (!!!) white players drafted, 2 OTs, 1 TE

now, after slightly better rounds 1 and 2 i expected something more... not to mention the fact, that last year by that mark we have had a WR, DB and a RB drafted!

Austin Collie goes to the Colts!

Should be good, Indy uses Anthony Gonzales alot. Collie could be the slot reciever when Anthony moves up to starter.

Yes!!! Collie will get a lot of playing time for the Colts.

Now James Casey (soon), Peter Ittersagen (7th round hope), and Eric Peterman need to go. If all those get picked and a runningback too I will be happy.

With Peyton Manning throwing to Dallas Clark, Anthony Gonzalez, and Austin Collie next season, I'll really have to pay attention to the stats.

Now the Colts need to get away from the almost all-black defense. The Colts will have the most White WRs getting playing time next year, comparing with the Texans KEvin Walter, Owen Daniels, and DAvid Andersen.
