Mays and Robinson did have some great years. Years that any hitter would love to have. But if Hack Wilson's 1930 season(.356/56 HR's/ 191 RBI's/ 146 Runs) didn't make the top ten, and Jimmie Foxx's 1932 season(.364/58 HRs/169 RBI/151 Runs) didn't make it, how can any of May's or Robinson's make...
Any top ten list will bring on the arguments but the truth is that the blacks who are at the top of the career lists did it through longevity. Aaron, Mays and Frank Robinson never had a top ten year.
I am actually struggling to come up with a black other than Bonds who did have a top ten...
This hasn't been mentioned here yet but how about the job Big Ben did moving around in the pocket all game long. Buying time, extending plays and making the Ravens D work much harder to contain the Steelers offense. A great, great job by Ben.
Greg Maddux in 1994 & 1995 was the most dominant pitcher in MLB history. His stats compared to the rest of the pitchers those years in MLB was the greatest differential ever. When compared with the league batting average and league ERA, Maddux had the most dominant 5 year run in MLB history...
I've watched as many Florida games as possible the last two years.
The one thing I have seen from Tebow is that he is an excellent passer. I have seen him thread the needle late in games on third down too many times to count. He has been terrific and it is all being buried in the ESPN...
Congrats to Florida and especially Tim Tebow! Nobody deserves it more than him. He is everything ESPN and the NFL are afraid of and I hope the fans push hard and demand he be given a chance to be an NFL QB.
Well, Tavaris didn't disappoint me. He was as pathetically bad as I expected. As bad as his numbers were in the 2nd half, they could have been much worse. The Eagles missed several easy interceptions as Jackson was being read to death by the Eagles D. They had no respect for Jackson being able...
I will say one thing for Manifest Destiny, if he is a loyal Vikings fan and watches them regularly, he probably has a better feel for how Frerotte was performing than the casual fan would have.
I see the Vikings as a team with all the parts except a stud QB. They are very close to being a...
Manning was awesome and could still reach 4000 yards passing this season with that performance.
Gerrard on the other hand, despite having a good game, came up empty when it counted the most. First the interception late in the game. Then the sack at the very end.
I find it very gratifying...
I've been using Ask search engine for a while now. Because I am in the computer field, I end up helping friends and family with their PC's. I always change their homepage to Ask and tell them it's a much better search engine. Most PC users aren't savvy enough to notice any difference in search...
Hillis isn't the first player to learn the hard way about going all out on every play. Many guys have found out that the NFL isn't college. All the players are strong and tough. The player that goes all out on every play does more damage to himself than the other team. But the players usually...
Here's an article I pulled from my FF site. Notice the title of the article calls him a tailback. Also, nice quote from Shanahan about Hillis's future:

McNabb has one major flaw, in my opinion. This flaw is what keeps him from being a truly great QB. He is capable of having great games and carrying the team on his back. But, he has always been inconsistent. He will have three good games, then one or two bad ones.
I have seen McNabb look...
The problem is, baseball gets played every night. Fans who watch a football game once a week probably don't care if it takes two and a half hours or three and a half hours. Same for car racing.
But take it from someone who has the Yankees as their local team. The games are agonizingly long...
Two comments:
1.) The Broncos caught the Jets at the right time. A letdown week after they beat the undefeated Titans. The Jets are better than they showed yesterday. That doesn't take anything away from what Hillis did though.
2.) I believe Hillis will be given opportunity by Shanahan for...
Been watching the Jets-Broncos. Every great run Hillis makes the announcer is quick to comment on the great blocks on the play or the Denver scheme to spread the field so their depleted running game can go. The announcers have so far refused to give Hillis a single compliment but they did manage...
I agree with Tom Iron, dwid does not sound like he knows enough about the subject to be able to defend himself when the sh*t hits the fan in class. Dwid, I would suggest running your idea by a friend. If you can sound convincing to him, maybe you should take a shot.
This Yahoo article shows just how desperate MLB is to find hidden, non-white talent. I guess one of the things still missing from Major League rosters is a Patel.
Open competition in India
The media is all over Big Ben today. Instead of just saying that the Colts and Manning got lucky in beating the Steelers, which they did. All the focus has been on Ben and his interceptions. His intercepton towards the end of the 1st half allowed the Colts to go in to halftime only down 3...
Don, have you tried Google Webmaster Tools. You can find out how Google views Castefootball and request better exposure. You have to have a Google account though.
Guys, just use a different search engine. I've been using Ask for a long time now. It works great and our site always comes right up on top.
I stopped using Google when I found out they save every search that you do. F-them!
