Hrgović bossed adeleye. Two solid rebound wins.

He's better than dubois as well which is frustrating. He just didn't seem to be best shape for that one.
Yes he had a rocky moment late in the 8th round but he rode it out similar to Zhang when he was dropped by him. This fight was largely one way traffic.

Nick Ball who fights similar to a Saxon warrior from the historical drama The Last Kingdom out worked the less dynamic Goodman but seemed to get a wider decision than it seemed on television as this seemed closer similar to the last card which was a one round margin as at times Goodman was able to out box the stocky warrior.

In the main event Itauma showed Whyte the door early with 2 or 3 power combinations wobbling and dropping and stopping Whyte, the referee was risking a 500 count on Whyte if more combinations were rained on his concussed brain.

I thought the Ball decision was way too wide on two of the cards. A good fight from Goodman. It took Whyte 6 minutes to walk to the ring, and now I know why. He knew he was going in the ring for the last time. I don't know if he connected with a single punch.

I happened to watch the highlights of the Itauma fight and while Itauma looks like a pretty good prospect, this was a blowout of a shot fighter. He looked a lot like James Kirkland or Jeff Lacey in their last fights. He didn’t belong there and should retire to preserve whatever health he’s got left.

I concur with both of you he had a look of condemned prisoner walking to his execution and fought as bad as any shot former champion or contender who should retire.

This is boxing so he will get offers for a b side bout against somebody looking to make a name off of the ghost of Whyte. Knowing the history of boxing most likely he takes the blood money offer.

I had to go back and watch Jeff Lacey’s last fight. He fought and up and coming Sullivan Barrera and it was a painful watch. Lacey didn’t belong in there and neurologically couldn’t get his body to do what his mind wanted it to. Teddy Atlas was commentating and basically said what most announcers wouldn’t.

There is boxing from Florida to the Congo. It appears that most of the whites are from England. I hope they are enjoyable.

Yes a slow weekend with the British prospect card probably the best watch of the weekend. I scarcely saw a name I recognized on the two North American cards.

I recognized a few names or at least bloodlines on the Australian card with Alex Lepai and one of the Dibs who are Lebanese Australians and one even had a main stream world belt for a cup of coffee. Dib is probably more famous for suing 50 cents for not honoring his contract and the rapper stated something to the effect his stage name was similar to his net worth...

Probably the biggest news of the week after the chilling dispatch of Whyte is that Jake Paul and Tank Davis are fighting an exhibition. After the talk of Joshua vs Paul this is more the speed of Paul as he is fighting a smaller guy who shouldn't be able to hurt him and is making possibly low 8 figures for his time.

https://www.boxingscene.com/article...-davis-set-for-an-exhibition-bout-in-novemberNote the fight will be an exhibition as even in hands off corrupt jurisdictions like Florida or Texas the commissions know that a man 50 pounds lighter and a half foot shorter have no business fighting even a club fighter with those advantages.

I am going to post this, but I honestly don't know if this is legitimate boxing. It was the only card I could find to post, though. It is part boxing and part MMA. I have no idea what a Salt Papi is.

August 30: Manchester (DAZN)

  • Darren Till vs. Luke Rockhold; For the inaugural MFB bridgerweight title
  • Tony Ferguson vs. Salt Papi; For the interim MFB middleweight title
  • Joey Essex vs. Numeiro; Middleweight
  • Dillon Danis vs. Warren Spencer; MMA fight for the inaugural MF MMA light heavyweight title
  • Vitor Siqueria vs. Amir Anderson
  • Carla Jade vs. Daryn Harris; Women's Lightweight Title

This is a celebrity boxing card with real fighters mixed in with Youtube personalities. This card is similar to when alleged wife beater Greg Hardy knocked out the mediocre son of Hasim Rahman.

It's also a PPV so I question the intelligence of people that will pay for this dreck but these days people are willing to pay regularly for things that decades earlier previous generations would rarely spend on(food delivery services).

PS back 20+ years ago I remember this non PPV this was the original car crash, dead road kill incarnation of these fights....

I have heard great reports on the Afro-Cuban fighter but have never seen any of his bouts, Shishkin was last seen losing a debatable decision loss to Scull who late in the fight ran more than he fought. If Shishkin loses this one he could become a B side gate keeper type he needs to close the show to win a decision in Quebec.

https://www.espn.com/boxing/story/_/id/46127624/heavyweight-boxing-legend-joe-bugner-dies-aged-75By the way Joe Bugner passed away earlier this week. He is in a better place than he was in the last few years of his life in a nursing home in Australia...

There are a couple of big boxing cards this weekend, one of which is not going to be televised, which is one more bad decision the boxing heads are making. The main bout is Alvarez vs Crawford. Right now, Alvarez is the heavy favorite.
Monster Inoue vs Akhmadaliev for the JR Featherweight title. As of yesterday, it was not scheduled to be televised. Unbelievable.
I would like to see Dychko show some improvement from his previous fights. Franklin is a step up for Dychko. Some good fights this weekend.

This weekend is another SB weekend for boxing as the British card is a prelude to the Las Vegas super card.

Donovan vs Crocker was one way traffic in the first fight as the Republican was too fast for Crocker I can't see what adjustments he can make to deal with Donovan's superior hand and foot speed.

The Vegas card has a step up fight for Dychko vs Franklin. The ethnic Russian via Kazakhstan can't afford to lose this one as he is 35 and Franklin has been found to be a decent gate keeper type but has never won a major cross roads fight. Dychko is a boxer who the pandemic and having foreign promoters has hurt his career as he was ready for a Franklin for a few years.

Bohachuk has a rematch with Brandon Adams and should win this one in style as the first fight was one way traffic until he was caught with a counter punch. The Ukrainian national can't help but fight aggressively but he could just box on the outside and win going away. Adams has largely been inactive since his upset of Bohachuk and is now well into his 30's so he could have further faded from the first too.

Callum Walsh has a step up fight to his first name opponent in Vargas Jr but Vargas has largely been under the radar since he turned pro so I wonder what he brings to the table beyond name recognition. We shall find out Saturday night.

The main event could be a fight for the ages as Alvarez is only a 8 to 5 favorite to win the fight but I regard him higher than that as Crawford is going way up in weight and arguably didn't win his lone fight at 154 pounds and he will tack close to another 15 pounds on his frame.

Historically fighters doing this can look great in the beginning of the bout and then eventually get squashed like a bug when they tire but Spinks did beat Holmes and Leonard beat Hagler but Holmes was much more faded than Alvarez and Hagler gave away rounds to Leonard early in the fight. Alvarez might give away the first round and then will try and make the fight a phone booth fight to tire out the bulked up Crawford.

Note the Vegas card is on regular Netflix so the fans are getting a break there but will the set have the problems of the Tyson card with frozen streams and audio only moments?

Also some of the under card bouts will be streamed on Youtube so some of the White fighters in crossroads bouts will be seen here.

The Monster card not being picked up on North American television is a bit of a bummer but a copy of the fight in Japanese will be available to be seen on Youtube with an hour or so of the conclusion of the bout which should be around 7am EST on Sunday. I expect the Monster to win but the Eurasian Akhmadaliev has been a capable fighter and was a unified champion in this division in the recent past.
