It's no surprise to me that I happened to look something up on bing today and they always have news stories at the bottom of the page. Never have I seen a boxing article featured for a lightweight boxer. Today they had a feature on Stevenson. Maybe just coincidence but I really feel the mainstream media is desperately looking for the next Mayweather. And given that there is no one in the heavier weight divisions they have no choice but to turn to the little guys.
I saw the fight with German/Armenian while it was no doubt Stevenson won the bout he did nothing for his ability to campaign for a fight with either Loma or Davis who are the two bigger stars in the division. You have to make the fans demand a fight and be ready to fork over PPV money, why would anybody want to see a guy content to win on points and not try and knock out his opponent, especially at 70US a pop.

Also this morning Argentine Fernando Martinez unified two titles at 115 pounds and is now the IBF and WBA champion. If there are no promotional snags a fight with Bam Rodriguez could be a big draw in a city in the Southwest and could make decent money for both fighters.

A big weekend of good fights or on paper they look very competitive. Ennis vs Avanesyan and later on Alimkhanuly vs Mikhailovich.

Janibek Alimkhanuly fainted in his hotel room while trying to cut weight and his title fight was cancelled for obvious reasons. From what I read from wire reports he has no organ damage but doctors decided to take no chances with his short term health and forced him to withdraw from his title bout. No opponent was found for the ethnic Russian based out of New Zealand so he is off the card too.

As far as I can tell no other White prospects fight on this card.

Avanesyan has a tough assignment fighting Ennis in his hometown as he will need to box the ears of the Philly fighter to get the decision in Philadelphia. I haven't seen any chin vulnerability in Ennis so a shot from left field will probably be needed to knock Ennis out but Hearn fighters have been losing fair decisions recently so maybe the Armenian based out of England can shade the fight and get the decision. https://fightnews.com/alimkhanuly-mikhailovich-clash-off/163417

UKRAINIAN NATIONAL TEAM TO COMPETE IN ASIAN CHAMPIONSHIP The tournament will take place in the United Arab Emirates
Подробнее по ссылке: https://xsport.ua/ru/boxing_s/news/sbornaya-ukrayn-v-stupyt-na-chempyonate-azyy_8960427/
Information appeared on the website of the Asian Boxing Confederation that the Ukrainian team will compete in the Asian Championship. The information was reported by the Secretary General of the Asian Boxing Confederation, Mr. Ali Salameh. The official announced that the Ukrainian team will take part in the upcoming Asian Boxing Championship among juniors, schoolboys and schoolgirls ASBC, which will be held in Al Ain (UAE) from August 27. Let us recall that earlier the Ukrainian team missed the European Junior Championship due to the admission of Russians and Belarusians.

^ Bit strange lol. But I suppose they allow Israel, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey to appear in some sporting European competitions!

I honestly think Loma could win this if the judges don't rip him off.

Yes Loma is live dog and could box the ears of Davis but will have to look out for a one hit bomb as Davis has violently taken out opponents with one shot but these opponents were markedly inferior to Loma. Even Garcia had weight clauses that weakened him and had him looking like Bambi when he hit the ring.

If the fight is signed which is a near certainty this would be the first time the training wheels have been taken off Davis where he wasn't fighting a smaller guy going up a division or fighter in the PBC bubble or the burdensome weight clause against Garcia.

PS concerning last night David Avanesyan was never in his bout with Ennis and was battered and dropped and his corner showed mercy and didn't let him see the 6th round.

It looks like his peak was when he fought and beat a series of British welterweights while holding the European belt.

Tom Aspinal recommended this documentary. Tom has been dipping his hands in petrol like the old school travelers.

Jake Paul brings his circus to Florida which seems to be the home away from home for the Paul brothers, he fights White ghetto product Mike Perry who when he was about to be cancelled on social media for profane racist language claimed to be a Hextaroon and showed a 23 and me test to prove it(that went over like a led balloon). So this fight would have a circus background just off of that...

I don't expect much out of this fight but Paul could ko Perry spectacularly similar to the journeyman boxers he has fought lately. A few more blows to Perry's skull and he will sound even more like Drexel from True Romance....

PS tonight White Mexican Santiago Dominguez is the B side on a Golden Boy card against house fighter Alex Rocha. He's a bit of mystery as he has fought exclusively on the Mexican circuit less his last bout. We shall see what he is made of as Rocha has the look of a decent prospect.

Also a Japanese card is on US television I assume on Saturday morning around the time the Open is on television. Less the monster I have never seen too many of these cards but this card is a stacked card of sub 126 pound fights.

The Paul bros are Jew boys.
Summarizing the weekend results and on Friday Mexican prospect/contender Santiago Dominguez was exposed to a point as he was thoroughly out boxed by Alex Rocha and looked stiff and robotic at times. It's not like Rocha seems invincible as he has a points loss and was stopped in a step up fight about a year ago.

I remember years ago Chavez Sr. was taunted with the line of him feasting on Tijuana cab drivers and then he would squash his opponent who stated the taunt. The Mexican circuit has a tank town/Dixie Circuit element to it and many prospects with sterling records haven't faced any live opponents this could be the case with Dominguez.

Jake Paul toyed with the crude Mike Perry and scored multiple knockdowns until the referee showed mercy on the wobbly Perry who might have had a chance to do something with Paul if he used a basic boxing defense as he was able to slip some shots and land on Paul and even cut Paul and had him retreating during one round.

Also on the card Arab Canadian Lucas Bahdi ko'd hyped prospect Ashton Sylve with a 3 punch combination after absorbing one way traffic for every second of the fight until the dramatic ko win. I really didn't have a dog in this fight but this knockout could be talked about for years for the brutality and drama.

As for the Paul brothers being Jews as far as I know it's distant ancestry and that is a distinct possibility as Cleveland had a fairly large Jewish population at one time. Supposedly Jewish organized crime groups ran bookmaking operations, loan sharking and other mob activities but lost a war with Italian crime groups in the 1970's after a series of infamous car bombings knocked off various crime figures in the Jewish mob. Supposedly Don King who was a Black underling flipped sides during this war and became an instant Black Pisano and flipped his bookmaking/numbers running operation to Italian control after the war ended.

A great boxing weekend this week. The Joyce vs Chisora is loaded with good fights and white boxers. One of the more interesting fights is Moses Itauma vs Mariusz Wach. Itauma is supposed to be the next big thing in the HW division. We will see against the veteran Wach.

Wallin's comeback fight is probably the most interesting fight to me see what Wallin has left, I'm not sure if his opponent has the ability to test him though.

I heard some British talk radio and the commentators were wondering if Chisora should have his licensed suspended for his own good well Wach has been in this territory for years and will make a fraction of the money of Chisora for his beating against Itauma. I hope the referee has a short hook if the fight is very one sided.

The biggest news of the week is probably the news that both Golden Boy and Top Rank have official contracts to work with the Saudi sports authority in promoting fights in the United States. For the fans we will have no red tape when it comes to stable stars not fighting cross promotion stars as the purses will be X times larger than what these fighters earned under their old promotional banner and the promoters will be well compensated for risking their fighters records. https://fightnews.com/riyadh-season-announces-deal-with-us-promoters/163709

As I speculated Wallin blew out his Nigerian opponent. From what I read it was the first big shot to the chin and the Nigerian giant fell like an oak tree. We will need an opponent with more bottle than that to see where Wallin stands in the heavyweight division.

Anyone know where to watch the Olympics without having Discovery+? Is there streams showing it?

What country do you live in or have access to Olympic broadcasting?

I never mentioned the Wach fight and as I speculated he was of little resistance to the touted prospect Itamu. Wach should call it day or the British licensing board should suspend his British license as he wasn't vaguely competitive with the prospect and seemed to wobble the first time he was touched by the prospect. Wach even a few years ago could take a beating and ask for more but that is gone now and now is simply a target.

PS in the main event Chisora upset the badly fading Mulatto Joyce and won a tight decision where a miracle bomb from left field dropped the defensively deficient Joyce. Chisora like Wach has clearly seen better days and if Joyce hadn't faded badly over the last year and half he would have probably ground out a decision but now Chisora will fight on but I don't see a rosy future except for his bank balance...

PS2 this is a big weekend coming up with Madrimov vs Crawford but that fight will be a PPV in North America...

I watched the Callum Peters vs Nurbek and the Rafael vs Yusuf fight, and it has been really strange that the Australians have been robbed after a clear and decisive 3-0 victories

The big fight for the weekend is Crawford vs Madrimov for the WBA title as White is right mention. There are a couple of HW fights this weekend, Andy Ruiz vs Jarrell Miller and Jared Anderson vs Martin Bakole. It is make-or-break time for Ruiz and Jared Miller.

A fairly intriguing matchup on that card is the light heavyweight showdown between David Morell and Radivoje Kalajdzic. Kalajdzic could play spoiler to the hyped fighter coming out of Cuba. Morrell is a heavy handed fighter but he’s spent his entire career at super middle weight so I imagine he will start to struggle against the higher ranked guys if he’s moving up to light heavyweight for good. I’m not sure if Kalajdzic is the underdog in this one but if he is he should be a very live underdog and it would be nice to see him pull out the win.

PS - Kalajdzik knocked out Cuban fighter Sullivan Bererra in impressive fashion this past March.

Good call NWsoccerfan. That should be an exciting fight. I would love to see Kalajdic beat the much-hyped Cuban.

Every fight on these cards could have a moment of excitement to an all out war. The weigh in for the the card is similar to the UFC cards and was ceremonial as Crawford weighed in wearing beach slippers. I expect Israil Madrimov to be a live dog in the fight but if he doesn't beat up Crawford and decisively beat Crawford he will get screwed similar to Golovkin in the first two Canelo fights as the business of boxing wants Crawford to win and either unify 154 or move up and fight Canelo in a 200 million+ super fight for the two boxing stars.

PS the Ruiz vs Miller fight should be a hard pass betting wise as both are still too heavy with Miller being 3 bills but looking "tight" for 300+ and Ruiz looking "tight" for 275 pounds but still heavier than his winning night against Joshua. Both fighters really aren't serious about conditioning and it may come down to what Ruiz has left as he looks to have been slipping the last few fights he has fought as his chin looks vulnerable.https://fightnews.com/crawford-madrimov-cruz-valenzuela-make-weight/163940
