Saints should hire hometown icon, Peyton Manning, as head coach. Did I say that?
Agreed, I'd say even more so. Brady at least had his "overachievers" to throw to and a stud like Gronk while Brees often turned crap into gold.
Weird about Payton, caste as heck, yes, but he kept white fullbacks around. Off hand he took Korey Hall when the Packers cut him and then John Kuhn, then a couple more I think Zach Line SMU standout then Vikings after thought. FTR I never watched or paid much attention to NO, actually kind of surprised they could fill a stadium, I worked in that area for about 2 years during the 80s and they didn't seem to drum up much excitement, but they were barely mediocre.
I don't think he wanted to go through a rebuild as it probably would have caused further burnout. He has been rumored to be jumping ship for a few years now. The Cowboys and Giants were speculated out loud by the media but Dallas would end in a disaster IMO as Jones is the poster boy for meddling owners, even in Jersey the Mara family while being more behind the scenes they have been rumored for meddling in the Eli Manning benching and starting again drama which all but sealed the end of Ben McAdoo.
Kamara showed his true colors when Hill was under center for the Saints. Nice to see the Tom iron rule play out once again.
IMO probably no big deal, geez we at times can sound like little old church ladies, I'd save my condemnation for that POS from Vegas who killed someone. I mean really I am to condemn this guy for that when he should be condemned for what he did to Brees.
FTR my last fight in my non-glorious fighting career was at a club and the bouncers were cool they gave me and my buddy a 10 minute head start to clear out of the area before they released the big ass frat kids, in my credit I took him to the ground. But we didn't need the cops or the wonderful court system to referee a beef about a spilled drink and a golf ball sized knot on my jaw.
More than little old church ladies should be concerned, but Kamara's black athlete skin privilege will undoubtedly result in the charge or charges being dropped or minimized to the point where he gets the slightest of slaps on the wrist:
Alvin Kamara was arrested in Las Vegas for "battery resulting in substantial bodily harm."The quote comes directly from the Las Vegas Police Department. Kamara was arrested hours after the conclusion of the Pro Bowl. The LVPD's statement states the incident occurred in a nightclub on February 5th. That was the day before Kamara participated in the Pro Bowl. The statement also notes the investigation into Kamara is still ongoing. New Orleans and the league should put out statements of their own soon, but they will likely let the legal situation play out before taking any action.
A slap on the wrist for a bloody lip sounds about right, but our court system as wonderful as it is does not need to adjudicate every bit of vibrancy coming down the pike. Now if it were a California Curb Job yeah that would be a felony and yes the NFL and the justice system would have to be involved. FTR I knew a guy rather well and he actually pulled off the curb job and the curbee lost a few teeth over it.
Two things back in the day the white players in the NFL were allowed a bit of vibrancy without everyone getting the vapors, but then again it would be hard to describe to young fellas that back in the day at certain social levels violence was a bit of a habit. My family occupied that social level, not that I inherited much of a talent for it I can throw a million butterfly punches but that doesn't count unlike my dad whose friends told me he was a hell of an ass whooper in the day, but my grandpa could probably have gone a few rounds with Tyson toe to toe.
Wife reminded me that the wonderful Mr. Kamara is employed by NASCAR for fan blah blah blah. FTR I hope all parties involved get the equivalent of sand crabs up the digestive tract pain they deserve.
Pro tip don't go to an establishment with that kind of name. Be kind of funny if this were a "Superfans" type of incident where some idiot white jock sniffer thought he would be cool. But instead it will go down to the usual TNB type of drunken idiocy, black on black.
Any white "liberal" lurking want to lecture us on vibrancy, tolerance and diversity?
The Saints were a bottom to middle tier team at best until Drew Brees came to elevate the franchise from mediocrity. Funny how once Brees left the team was in disarray once again.
It's what they do, it has a certain charm, and as an outsider I enjoyed my two years there but I knew to take my midwestern farm boy self back home where I belonged.
Perennial Chiefs scapegoat, Daniel Sorensen, signs a one year contract with the Saints.
I'm happy he is still in the NFL but he deserved a longer contract. He actually should still be a KC Chief but they don't apprectiate his talent. Hope he can
have a very good season and earn a longer contract either for the Saints or elsewhere.
Andy Dalton signed by the Saints.
If the Saints opt to draft a quarterback, the QB room will really be crowded. Jamis Winston, Andy Dalton, Blake Bortles and Ian Book are on the books as of now. Throw out one game of Taysom Hill's and he's proven he can perform and win. Too bad he has been caste aside.
It will be interesting. Sean Payton had a very qb friendly system. I doubt Winston replicates his success last year much like Bridgewater was exposed once he left the Saints.
Both Hill and Book were Payton picks. Hill being sent to TE shows what the new regime thinks of him. Book and Bortles are probably the odd men out. Dalton was a solid signing.
I will not be pleased unless Crab Legs throws another 30 INT. And **** Dennis Allen.
I would even posit that Winston wasn’t that great across the five games he played. Sure several touchdowns, which is fine, but he averaged less than 200 yards a game if I recall. And a chunk of his production game in the Packers opening egg of a game.
It looks like the top fullback in the draft is headed to the saints to unfortunately compete with Adam Prentice for
The fullback position. It’s pretty bad when a inferior athlete like Heyward was drafted by the Steelers and receiving rave reviews while a beast like Chenal probably won’t make the league.https://247sports.com/college/wisco...arns-NFL-minicamp-opportunity--187449312/Amp/
Heyward was stunningly mediocre in college. He was gifted a senior bowl invite over guys like Ratkovich.
Chenal was underused - could have been a power back for the Badgers. Hopefully he makes the team or league.
