"I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that Vicaut peaked to early in the season and will be slightly slower at the champs"

    I don't understand your mentality !

for me i wish may the best man win.
I wish that Christophe runs faster, not that Vicaut runs slower !

Building muscle naturally without the aid of "magic yams" for someone like Lemaitre, and most for that matter, is very very dificult. It requires good dieting, lots of sleep and of course an excellent work ethic in the gym. Lemaitre works very hard Im sure, but Im just not sure he is putting enough blood and sweat into his strength training. At the start you're essentially leaping off the line. It's an explosive powerful motion. If Lemaitre weighs 185-190lbs and could squat 400lbs then he's gonna burst off that line with more speed and power. The fix seems pretty simple to me. I think one thing the US has going for them is the emphasis football has had on speed and power training. Big weights = big strength = explosive starting ability. I think the best thing Lemaitre could do would be to come train in the US with some of the top trainers. This is all just my opinion of course as I don't claim to be an expert in track.

Hello, nobody seems to have noted that both Pierre Caraz and CL himself have aknowledged that he had a "heavy psychological personal contrariety" this week-end. Seems obvious when you see him just before running: sadness, no joy, he was obviously there "to do the job".

I think that some caracters here are really harsch about him and Mr Carraz, hope they will see they are wrong very soon !

I don't know if Christophe read this blog, but if it the case could not be very good for his morale.

There is the possibility coming in third to Warren Weir and not running under 20 killed his confidence in medaling at Moscow. Lemaitre expected to run sub 20 and run close with Bolt, he would of accepted losing to Bolt but not to Weir. That could be the issue... and throw in the fact that his training has been backwards from the start dosen't help. I hate to say it, but this kids confidence may be shot for good. I hope not though. He still has untapped talent.

I have been saying this for over two years now, but the Wizard of Training, the Great RCSMAN, knows otherwise.

Should we just say 'Great Job Christophe!' instead? As he runs slower times each year, loses to more and more runners, falls further and further down the list of top European sprinters?!
He's not a little boy. He should be able to face-up to the facts.
This blog/discussion board has been extremely supportive of Christophe, but we see that he is going downhill. If we didn't support him, we wouldn't care. But instead we care a great deal!
That's why there are so many comments about him, even though they have become negative since his performances have gotten worse.

and you just proved our point, no PROGRESSION. Which is what most people seem to be upset about.

it is pathetic. He should be with a different trainer. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.

yeah way to get butthurt because you can't take a ****ing joke. Yeah I read about it in a nazi book that I bought in the nazi section at Target. Since you don't speak English real well, that is a joke. Get real. Look at the top athletes in any events, how many jews? thats where I got my information. That doens't make me anti semitic. Its a simple observation.

and if you think that is bad then obviously you haven't read anything besides the Christophe thread.

like i said get off of Caraz's 8==D

you are the one with the prejudice thinking "french do things better than everyone in the world" , except you have little to show for it.

and "I SAID" go look at my posts, I never said anything about regressing, I said he needed to improve.

you just keep mentioning one little thing I said so you don't have to answer the real question of why he hasn't progressed. So you keep bringing it up to dismiss me.

seriously, what site am I on right now? when a comment like that makes me get labled anti semitic and a nazi...just ridiculous

This forum is about Christophe and you speak about Jews with stupid sentences like "hit the weight room gradually to avoid trauma? wtf, are we scrawny jews"

and now you say : "Look at the top athletes in any events, how many jews" ?

WHAT ? HOW MANY JEWS ? :scared:sorry but when I watch athletics on tv I do not count the Jews !!!! you're crazy !

and for your information JEWS is a religion not a nationality or race !

every JEWS is different like every CHRISTIANS or I don't know... BOUDHISTE, it's not an advantage or handicap for ATHLETICS !

YOU SAID "you are the one with the prejudice thinking "french do things better than everyone in the world" ?
After clichés about Jews, here are clichés about the French people !

YES, your comments are pathetic !

no this forum is about WHITE athletes, this thread is about Christophe, but good way of dismiising my question about why Christophe has not improved, no progression at all for years and why he shouldn't switch to a different trainer. He doesn't have much to lose by doing so, but can gain a lot.

This great thread is turning into nothing more than an argument. I think we should all agree to disagree. My opinion is that at this point it is reasonable for Christophe to consider a coaching and environment change. It's not a knock on his current coach, but sometimes a coach can only take you so far. Similar to a boxer switching trainers jfor a fresh start. He seems to be sort of stuck in the same place. Yes, it is true that he is not going backwards rapidly, but he really doesn't seem to have gotten any better and seems rather inconsistent right now. As for the strength issue, I think we can all agree he needs more strength.

he simply was only going through the motions at weekend ,
had a bad day at the office might say. lets just move on .

time maybe to wean ourselfes off him as put such a reliance on his
    performamces over years .

Does anybody know if he has changed his diet since last year .
i am not talking more greens here ,
i have heard that alot of athletes are getting benefits (some more than others)
from eating a largely gluten free diet .
thats what Novak Djokovic puts it down to his increase in performance
from age 23 or so .
some say it is a cover for ped use . but still is a plausible story
as have heard many athletes benefit from it ,but maybe not to novak's extreme.
definitely think would benefit lemaitre , as those breathing issues could
easily be down to a food sensitivity .
    just a thougth.

I agree for the most part, training the calves for size is detrimental 100%...but training for strength and spring is not. Calves should be trained sparingly though, and if so, for sprinters and jumpers - heavy weight, low sets and low reps with a explosive up and slow controlled down...superset it with rapid rope jumping(30 secs) or 5-10 box jumps. This is how we did it in football camp back in the day. Helped with our 40 time and VJ tests

FOR YOU, Christophe has not improved, no progression at all for years, NOT FOR ME, I DON'T AGREE with your opinion !

    In 2011, Christophe ran 5.70 (1st 50M) and 4.30 (2nd 50M) = 10.00 BASIC TIME
    In 2012, Christophe ran 5.77 (1st 50M) and 4.27 (2nd 50M) = 10.04 BASIC TIME

IN 2011 If Christophe had ran 5.77 in first 50M, He would never ran 10.04 BASIC TIME like 2012, probably 10.10.

Christophe is faster on the 2nd 50M although he is slower on the 1st 50M! It is very well, it demonstrates that he progressed, that he is more powerful, that he worked well the rhythm of these strides on the 2nd 50M!

He has to rectify his technical problems on the 1st 50M, and he can run under 9.90 !

    Christophe can run, 5.68 (1st 50M) and 4.22 (2nd 50M) = 9.90 !!!

it's not a problem of physical shape, Christophe has a very good physical shape, he worked HARD, his problem is TECHNICAL like Vicaut before this week end.

Can we make peace for the moment...since you seem to know a lot of what Christophe does, do you know his strength levels regarding weight training? does he run up hills or do any sled pushing/pulling? just curious

    thank you

In reality, in the last 2 years he has not improved...you only improve when you break your personal best, that is common sense. You seem to evaluate every little thing...his 1st 50 or last 50 mean nothing if his final 100 meter time is not better than his personal best. Wind, rain, elevation, stop the BS RCSMAN, I know you are smarter than that. C'mon now, it is getting ridiculous. When Lemaitre beats his 100 or 200 best then I will bow down to you, otherwise, stop making excuses!!!!!!!! an please answer my previous post
