Yeah, but Clowney had a fantastic 3 sacks last year.

Mayock at least is high on Gaffney, a bright spot in his otherwise dreary Caste-speak performance. Mayock has been talking Gaffney up as a second or third round pick. Weenieworld on the other hand sees Gaffney as not worthy of being drafted despite excellent measurables, great production, and excelling in pass protection:

Stanford RB Tyler Gaffney clocked unofficial forty times of 4.43 and 4.48 at the NFL Scouting Combine. Despite the impressive size-speed Combine ratio, we were thoroughly unimpressed by Gaffney's college tape, expecting him to be an undrafted free agent before the Combine started. The measurables may help him jump into the third day of the draft, but Gaffney is not a special running talent by any stretch. He does excel in pass protection like ex-teammate Stepfan Taylor.

newsflash to those comparing unofficial to official. The NFL combine IS NOT 100 percent electronic, half of it is still based on humans. From the draftnik community (guys who pride themselves on scouting and basically put in the same work as nerds such as Mayock except don't get paid)

    "
I think it's fair to count the unofficial times as credible. Most NFL teams use the same method to get their own official times on a prospect.

    It's more about knowing generally if a player is a 4.5 guy, a 4.6 guy, or a 4.3 player.

I don't think most NFL execs really care about knowing a player's time to the hundredths of a second.

Also until the NFL discloses how they formulate their official 40 times, I usually take the unofficial times and factor in pro day clockings to get a feel for how fast a player really is."

and they also simultaneously played Manziel running with another prospect that timed faster, and Manziel had him beat.

    also
    :
"It seems like every year there's a huge discrepancy between the unofficial NFLN times and the adjusted official combine times.

For instance Sammie Watkins isn't a 4.4 guy. That's the reason why teams still hand time most of these prospects on their own."

not the footage I was talking about but here is Manziel and Kaepernick they are pretty even at 30 yards, and Manziel about a half step behind at 40 yards.

Hmmm Manziel is actually in the lead up until about 25 yards. That's kind of important because how often is a QB gonna run 40 yards in a real game?

This clown's (pun intended) only claim to fame is a single highlight reel tackle that came on a botched blocking assignment, a clip which was used by BSPN to somehow hype him into the greatest football player in the world. He's lazy, with sub-par production, not particularly strong or fast, and his work ethic needs to be seriously questioned. He has bust written all over him, but despite all the red flags, his unlimited upside will ensure a top 10 selection.

I have a feeling he will be battling for a roster spot. He is tiny at about 175. I don't know how skilled he is but at that size in the modern NFL he will be kickoff or punt returner at best.

    40 Times

These times are not especially accurate . Lyerla clearly beat the NC TE but lost out in "official"time. So lets cut to the chase these are not track and field iron clad times-something is amiss. Tracer keep that in mind!!!! Even if you think it isn't biased it is not the real truth either.
That said an ok day for us but I was hoping for a 4.5 from both Shaw and Johnny F but Johnny is more quick than fast and he tested well in quickness area.
Janis had a nice run but a 4.3 official would have looked even better. Somebody better draft him or I will be royally pissed . Both Jason A and Campy performed really well and both are very smooth and athletic.
Gaffney is not white to me.
Ultimately a grade B for the day and could have been an A- if Shaw and Johnny were able to run a 4.5 official whatever the hell that official means it ain't the kind of olympic timing just look at the starts timing seems off and rinky dink.

how is this guy not White? 628x471.jpg

but we root for guys like Salas? who obviously have some mixture in them. If Gaffney wasn't White, he'd be in contention for the top back taken. 5'11 220 pounds, great burst, wiggle, power, vision, balance, ran a 4.43 and a 4.48 which came out as an "official 4.49. Go look at the other top backs that are touted like Hill, who is slow, can't cut as fast as Gaffney etc. timed slower. Hyde is also ranked in the top, neither Hill or Hyde strike me as featured backs. Gaffney rushed for 1700 yards and 20 tds after taking a year off for baseball.

I remember someone posting the questiong if Ryan Matthews was White or not, I didn't think he was, and he put up big numbers in the WAC and was like a top 15 pick, the same year Gerhart came out, except he was smaller than Gerhart and was injury prone while playing in a weak conference. If Gaffney manages to go top 20 I'll reconsider his race. He'll be lucky to get picked in the 3rd.

looks like some of the White guys ive been friends with, well some of them might have a tad bit of indian blood in them (Cajuns) but barely, hard to tell with the ones who work out in the bayous and are in the sun all day. Nowhere near the level as Greg Salas or Jace Amaro. I just don't see it.

Clowney unofficially ran under 4.50 today. Michael Sam must have thought he died and went to Heaven seeing all the raging stiffies the scouts, coaches, draft gurus and announcers were sprouting after Clowney's run.

I believe Gaffney's dad is white and his mother is either black or maybe Samoan, Indian, something etc. there's pictures of his parents out there if someone wants to post them.

It seems many here on CF don't consider a player white, if the dad is black and the mother is white. I know I don't.. and some are saying Gaffney is white because his dad is white. If you're mixed race, you're mixed, but not white.

The mom looks Poly to me. Poly usually means black in the Caste System, but maybe not at running back. Fullback might be okay, but at running back with a white father ...... he will not be getting any carries in the NFL.

Either way props to him on coming back rushing for 1700 yards after a year off playing baseball. On top of that he comes out and runs a scorching fast 40! Really pleased w the numbers Shaw,Manziel, and Lynch put up. Abby,:Campanaro, and Janis were blazing fast, all 3 should not last past 3rd rd. Imagine had Neutz,Amidon, and Lora been invited! Also Brett Smith and Garret Gilbert are dual threat qbs who are huge combine snubs!

I dunno its hard to tell, i think looking at the small picture, and the picture of his little brother, she is mexican, or some type of hispanic with indian blood, I don't think he is part black like some suggest and looks Whiter than Jace Amaro and Greg Salas who many on this site support(ed.) Since its rb I will support him. I dunno, a poly might get to some carries like Matt Asiatia (spelling) who I believe is poly, and got carries with Peterson and Gerhart went down, and was praised for a mediocre performance (low ypc but some easy goal line tds), some speculated Ryan Matthews was poly until he said one parent was White and one was black in an NFL interview. I haven't seen a single dwf view him anything other than White and gets the standard "lack of straight line homerun speed, limited hip wiggle" comments.

One of my good friends growing up had a mom that looked similar, although a little lighter, from Houma, where Cajuns mixed with indians. He identified as White and was a good guy. If she were skinnier it would be easier to tell.

Tyler Gaffney is white! I have looked at good pictures of him. I actually was probably one of the first to notice Tyler Gaffney and Brandon Wegher from WhiteRivals.com and BrownieScout.com, but originally mistook them as mullato from non-close-up pics of them and got beat to starting a H.S thread on them by White Power and Jimmy Chitwood.

Gaffney was somehow ranked a FB on Rivals and not even in the White Rivals 250 after posting the measurables and ridiculous stats he did, including a eye popping 300 yard performance in his California H.S Championship game. Plus (just like Sam McGuffie) his ranking began to drop faster than flies- after originally being in the White rivals 100 as a tailback (so Gaffney's got to be white)!

I was gonna mention that about Gaffney tough! A black/mullato RB with Tyler's numbers and measurables would've been a 5-star back easily. Instead, he was a FB and not even ranked in the Rivals' 250. That alone pretty much proves he's white.

(and now its happening all over again in the NFL), I think he would get a better shot if he were poly, I mean look at at Troy P (not even going to bother spelling it right).

    combine profile

[h=4]Strengths[/h] Excellent size. Effective inside runner. Nice vision and patience. Runs behind his pads -- churns his legs through contact and fights for extra yards. Good hands as a receiver out of the backfield. Highly competitive. Tough and durable. Well-conditioned athlete -- showed he could handle a heavy workload after a year away from the gridiron (averaged 24 carries per game). [h=4]Weaknesses[/h] Tight-hipped and straight-linish. Limited twitch and wiggle. Gears down to cut. Average quickness to and through the hole. Runs duck-footed and lacks breakaway speed -- tracked down from behind. Has split his time and training between two sports. [h=4]Bottom Line[/h] Gaffney, who doubles as a baseball player, rejoined the Cardinal football team after a one-year stint in Class A. Did not skip a beat, shouldering the load as a feature back and putting himself back on the NFL radar by showing inside running skills as a big, athletic, downhill back willing to grind out the tough yards. Has the determination and competitiveness to earn a backup role for a power-running team.

The duck footed thing Ive noticed in the open field, I don't see it as a problem, but he does have wiggle and twitch and doesn't really need to gear down to change direction, not even close to what someone like Hill or Hyde have to, but thats what they say about every White guy who times well in the 40, that they are slow to change direction, i remember after Jordy's performance people were saying "yeah but it takes a sun dial to time his speed when he changes direction". His shuttle and 3 cone drill times prove his quickness, but that doesn't mean anything to anybody apparently.

So, so a little mexican/indian blood isn't going to stop me from rooting for him, as long as it isn't black. I actuallly have an easier time rooting for him than the jewish guy from Iowa, Mark Weissman but its all about how fans perceive him, I mean even Woodhead looks to have a small amount of indian blood in him. If we were judging players from a stormfront perspective we'd lose some athletes to cheeer for.

Wow, you couldn't make this **** up! Is this Groundhog Day or what?

Meanwhile, everyone's favorite homo ran a 4.91 40 and got a lousy 17 reps on the bench press. Simply pathetic, and not even remotely close to being NFL caliber numbers.

at least he insists that he had only 1 and it wasn't serious, so I don't know if we see him disappear. THe Ryan Swope thing is just too weird, he passed the medical tests, he never missed a game, but just "retires" from football. I think something fishy went on there but we will never know what the real truth is. How is it that Brandon Stokley can have like 14 to 15 concussions in their career and be fine and all of a sudden a few are going to rule these guys out. Stokley had a long productive career, although underused.

The gay guy is going to get picked earlier because hes gay, if he were White and straight he'd be lucky to earn a spot on a practice squad.

Maybe there's something about the shape of one's skull or brain size that influences concussion severity, besides just the force of the impact?

Probably. And likely related to the question of why some boxer's take a great punch while others are what they call "chinny" and and easier to hurt. Austin Collie would be the equivalent of a fighter who is a really good boxer but has a problem taking a punch. Somebody somewhere is probably researching the science of it, but for now it's just a mystery.

    LB 40 times

Not much to get excited about here great lack of DE's and sparse LB's this year. Jordan Tripp ran very well. Excellent athlete. BTW some of those black Lb's are built like wr's so take their 40 times with a grain of salt.
Bullough ok for the middle and Murphy same as DE/LB. Not much else.
Today D backs and well even worse. Hope Sorenson from BYU runs a good time.
Still at end of day WR is my position I care about most and all three came up aces. Will Swope ever make a comeback? Ever notice when they put up fastest QB's at combine they neglect Matt Jones 4.37 who played QB during college?

I thought that the LBs all performed well yesterday. They will be victims of DWF/BSPN overreaction to 40 times. Borland ran a 4.8 for a MLB with top notch instincts and a first step is just fine. Bullough ran in the 4.7 range at 250 lbs. Zumwalt also ran in the 4.7 range, this was the player who knocked out Logan Thomas in the bowl game and was an all around playmaker for UCLA last season. Tripp is a guy that I didn't know much about until the Senior Bowl - he played well there as a small school player and put on one of the best combine performances out of any of the LBs.

Trent Murphy is an OLB/DE more so than a traditional 4-3 OLB, it will be interesting to see if he gets the Chase Thomas treatment - Murphy shouldn't be anything less than a 2nd round pick. Trevor Reilly did not parcitipate due to injury, he was projected as a 1st rounder during last season. Morgan Breslin needs to perform well at his pro day.

Mauro and Marsh were they only white players I noticed as part of the DL group. Marsh projects as more of an OLB and Mauro is a 3-4 DE. Taylor Hart did not participate nor did Brent Urban. These guys are all projected as DE. The DT drought and whiteout at this position continues. Beau Allen should get drafted but the DT position is as black as ever. The caste method to keep white players off the d-line is to convert them all to Offensive linemen. Every year white offensive linemen perform really well at the combine, yet no one seems to think that they are "athletic" enough to play defensive line. Joe Thomas could of been a DT, Lewan this year could of been a DT.

As a total I think the number of white defensive players drafted will be around 20. Usually a couple white players not invited to the combine open some eyes at proday. Hopefully Zimmerman does this and gets drafted.

I hate to say it, but it wouldn't surprise me if the average larger brains of whites makes us more susceptible to concussions....

With raw data like this and his game films he has to drop to a marginal draft pick and a borderline training camp body type. Many White prospects with his athleticism are told that on the day they graduate/lose their eligibility to update their resumes or look for a job at Kinkos . Ps Casteon fool Rich Eisen dropped the loafers and broke 6 for his 40 yard dash.....:smile:http://www.nfl.com/runrichrun

Something to note about concussions, they're completely subjective. Of course they exist but what one physician considers to be a concussion another physician might just write off.

Another problem with concussions is their detection is partly based off the base intelligent of the person concussed. If someone like Ryan Fitzpatrick gets concussion it'll be much easier to detect than someone like Frank Gore getting a concussion. Since whites on average have higher IQs than blacks they'll have higher concussion rates.
