So this bull**** scouting report - says Campanaro does not have "functional" strength - he was a top performer with 20 bench press reps. Also said he lacks explosiveness yet his 40 was 4.44 and 10 yard split was 1.53. They have yet to do 3-cone and shuttle drills which measure short area quickness which whites usually totally excel year in and year out yet those drills and ignored every year. That nonsense scouting report is purely race based.

Yea at 6'3 220 that is freakish. Better than many of the skinny black "track star" WRs. I am sure it will be brushed under the rug though and ignored. I hope that is not the case as his combine performance should propel him up draft boards.

I'm really happy with the times our guys are running. We all know that scouts and teams put way too much emphasis on the 40 times so at least our guys have been putting up times that they cannot say a damn thing about. They have to give these kids a little more respect with these blazing times. I'm anxious to see what Manziel does for his vertical. I'm guessing around 40 inches.
Jeff Janis can really fly. Damn that run reminded me of Matt Jones. Let's just hope he doesnt' get screwed over like Jones did. Janis likes to compare himself to Jordy Nelson and I can see why. Over a good combing thus far!

Ah yes the mysterious official 40 times start to come out. Manziel still a top 5 pick.

Yea Janis ran a 4.30 and a 4.44 - that does in no way average out to a 4.42. Tracer not sure if you are trolling or what but we are totally aware of the bogus official time - so I hope you are not trying to incite some sort of surprised reaction.
No one "keeps" their time. The unofficial and official have nothing to do with each other. One is the average of 2 hand timed, and one is the FAT (fully automated) laser time that the iaaf uses.
Only 2 wide receivers had official sub-4.40 times. Everyone usually falls about a tenth. Watkins went from 4.34 to 4.43.
Carr went from 4.65 to a 4.69, and Lynch went from 4.72 to 4.76. The hand-timing is just a guesstimate.
It would be interesting for someone to do the research to find out how much more (if at all) the "official" time for White players goes up on average compared to black players. It seems like Whites get the short end of the stick every year with official times often going up considerably from the initial times.
I've read these combine threads for 7 years on this board.. and for 7 years you guys have failed to grasp the simple concept of hand timing vs. fully automated timing.
Tajh Boyd went from 4.75 to 4.84
Martavis Bryant went from 4.34 to 4.42
Bruce Ellington went from 4.31 to 4.45
Odell Beckham went from 4.31 to 4.43
I suppose they got hosed too, huh? EVERYONE goes down. Hand timing is NOT ACCURATE.
We understand that, Einstein. The issue is how much times go down on average, White vs. black. Seven years lurking and you're still as dense as you were in 2007.

Really pleased with the times of Abbrederis, Janis, Shaw, and Manziel.
Someone ought to actually crunch the difference in average loss between white versus black before we start assuming. From where I'm sitting, it's all over the map. There are several black players who lost a lot off of their official times too.
What I'm curious about is why does it seem to take the laser so long to figure out its time? It seems like it ought to be able to figure out the times immediately so why even post the hand-timed numbers? When I think of a laser I think of something fast.

How the hell does Manziel run a 4.68 ?
RB Dri Archer had the fastest time so far, 4.26, which is his official time and close to Chris Johnson's all-time Combine best of 4.24. Archer's unofficial time was 4.28. I can't recall a White player's unofficial time being slower than his official time.
