Well, I think it is time to make a 2009 draft topic. The first overall pick is Stafford out of Georgia, going to Detroit. The rest of the first round has maybe one to three white O linemen going and the pair of white USC linebacker along with James L. So we could have maybe 5 to 7 whites going in the first, if you consider Sanchez white. Edited by: Jack Lambert

Mark Sanchez is Mexican to me because he's been outspoken about his ethnicity and wears a Mexican flag like mouthpiece. They can claim him, I don't want him.

Ok, I was just wondering about Sanchez, so he is Mexican then.

Anyways, I saw some mock drafts earlier that were saying James L. would be picked by the Lions in the 2nd round! If James is going to get picked by the Lions, it will be with the 20th pick in the draft. Clay Mathews I think would be an excellent pick for the Patriots. Most mock drafts have Cushing going in the 10-20 pick range. Maybe a little after 20, but not very much.

Josh Freeman is the latest pathetic black QB hope along with Nate Davis. These morons have Freeman going in the first round. I hope he does, so he gets an easy starting job and plays like crap.

Don't forget that Connor Barwin could also possibly go in the 1st round.

BTW- Stafford's contract was the best ever for a rookie. He has a virtual guarantee of 41.7 million dollars. The entire contract was 6 years for 72 million with the possibility of 78 million if he reaches incentives.

The only way the Lions could avoid paying the 41.7 million is if he refuses to play football or goes Plaxico on us. A career ending injury, or cutting him loose for bad play does not void the 41.7 million guarantee.

I consider Sanchez white. He looks about 7/8 Euro and 1/8 Indian, or maybe 3/4 and 1/4. As mentioned in a previous thread, the Mexican heritage thing was pushed on him by the media, much as they have tried to turn Sam Bradford into some kind of Indian icon even though he's only 1/16 Indian. Sanchez is racially not much different than Jeff Garcia, who has always been considered a white QB.

Oh yeah, Thx TJR, I forgot about Barwin there for a second. From most mock drafts, they have either the Bengals or Raiders taking lazy fatass Andre Smith, a fine addition to either of these teams.

Smith will fit right in. Hopefully, the Steelers will be smart and pick Alex Mack, ERic Wood, or Max Unger.

It would be nice to see Cushing go to Buffalo at 11, the Bills would then have Cushing and Posluszny.

The Bills seem to be signing more white O-Linemen over this offseason, while trading Jason Pters and releasing Derrick Dockery.

Mel Kiper still has Andre Smith as the second OT taken. He is still ranked way too high. A mock draft in USA today by Nate Davis had Andre Smith going to the Packers as the 3rd OT taken at #9- saying "He's had plenty of drama in recent months, but he's a "SPECIAL TALENT" he'd take over for RT Mark Tauscher immediately and LT Chad Clifton eventually".

are there any white db's looking to be drafted this year? free agent signing possibly?

Last year there were a few good ones. Tom zbikowski, caleb campbell (even though he had to go to the military), craig steltz.

NFLdraftscout.com has James Casey now ranked as the #1 FB and as a 2nd to 3rd round draft pick. I think he could be very good in an H-Back role (he could run the ball a little too). James Casey is a poor man's Peyton Hillis athletic wise and had 1,000 receiving yards last year at Rice. A smart team should find creative ways to use him- throwing to him, running with him a bit and even using him as a wildcat QB.

NFLdraftscout also ranks Brian Toal as the 5th FB. I don't mind that if an NFL team would run with him and throw to him a bit, but I highly doubt that happening. Therefore, I'd rather see him as an OLB.

Colt Anderson of Montana very well could get drafted in the last few rounds at Safety and Anthony Sciorotto (spelling?) has somewhat of a shot as well.

Several times I have made the point that Jim Plunkett was always considered a white QB in his playing days. Back then, I read that Plunkett was 3/4 Mexican and 1/4 Irish. When Joe Gilliam started the 1974 opening game for the Steelers, the press made a big thing of "all the other NFL starters are white." One of them was Jim Plunkett.

Mark Sanchez looks more white than Plunkett. Thirty-five years ago, little or nothing would have been made about his ethnicity. The same held for Tom Flores when he was an AFL starting QB in the 1960's. Flores was just another QB and him being of Mexican extraction was no big thing.

Beginning in the 1960's, the MSM's obsession has been black QB's. They have been demanding them for getting close to five decades.

That is ridiculous, I personally wouldn't even consider this lazy lard until late 3rd to mid 4th, depending on what I needed in the draft. The draft is starting.

I don't know anything about Colt Anderson but this is a typical situation. He had to settle for playing at Montana. It is always schools like Colorado, BYU, and Wyoming giving whites chances at these positions.

Very true. No matter what their talents, some programs simply will not offer white safeties. Anthony Sciorotto is from Penn State, so he's in a big program, but is still underrated. Another very underrated guy is Daniel Charbonnet of Texas Tech. I believe he had 6 INTs and could be a good FS!

Yeah Don, if Stafford were black, he would be treated as a savior to the Lions.
Time to see who the Rams pick. The Rams pick Jason Smith. Of course not many boos for him.

I'm trying to pay attention but it's difficult not to watch the Penguins-Flyers game on NBC. Guess I need to go full bore DWF and have multiple TV sets next to each other.

Yeah Don, I may need more than 1 TV set too.

Browns traded pick to Jets, who picked Mark Sanchez, Bengals add to their roster of thugs and lazy idiots, with the pick of Andre Smith.

The senile-run Raiders just picked this year's version of Troy Williamson.

Steve Young looks extremely annoyed by Keyshawn right now, lol. Raiders picked Heyward-Bey. Did you see the look on Bey's face when he got picked by the Raiders.

I agree with Don, Bey is going the way of Williamson and the Detroit Lion's recievers that got picked the last few yearsEdited by: Jack Lambert
