I don’t really follow soccer but for decades now I have heard this argument when the US fail to advance in the World Cup. It’s that they need more “athletes” which apparently isn’t the fix because this year the US men’s team was stacked full of them and fell short once again. The normies just double down on it.

The base argument always comes down to players being able to run fast in a straight line for the average dumbed down fan. No consideration for agility, coordination, technical knowledge, fundamentals or strategy of the game. It’s only getting worse too. This site is the only one that challenges this incorrect group think as it applies to sports.

Btw, I see they make this excuse now for soccer too. I thought it applied only to boxing after the Eastern Euros became pros and dominate the bigger divisions like there’s no tomorrow. What’s next? Tennis and water polo? :D

I doubt Thomas Tuchel makes the final decisions of who plays on the roster. The way England is going politically, some weasels above Tuchel (whoever hired him and pays him) likely demand a minimum 50-60% squad of foreigners (I don't care if any were born on the island of England they're still foreigners).
 
Four games is too small a sample size to accurately judge a player. Even great baseball players can have a four-game streak without a hit. And using that standard for soccer is even more illogical because an elite baseball player can average 1.25 to 1.5 hits per game, but even the best soccer players at the top pro level don't average that level of goals per game.

In soccer they don't even do pointless sprint tests because handling the ball, passing, shooting, and especially vision are the only things that matter anyway. The ball always moves faster than some dope can run and running around just makes a player tired anyway. Yesterday we could hear the dopey crowd start cheering when that US player with the dyed blond hair would sprint while the Belgian defender handled him like with ease.

I guess “Boppa” forgot about Chad Johnson’s attempt to play professional soccer and how running wide receiver routes didn’t quite translate into dribbling a soccer ball. He was laughably bad and if I remember correctly his experiment fizzled out pretty quick.

Blacks will always say the team needs to be all black. Let them. Fill the entire squad full of ghetto bums including the coaches and they won't even qualify for the next tournament.
 
I give this US team a B+.Started by hammering the lilliputians from Paraguay,a country with century long soccer tradition,won the group,a first for US.Belgium is ranked 8 or 9 by FIFA and US 17,not exactly earth shattering that Belgium won decisively.
There have been 23 WCs so far,only 8 countries have won one.Europe the bastion of soccer has only 5 countries(Italy,Germany,England,France,Spain) to have lifted the Cup.Soccer mad S.America has just 3(Uruguay,Brazil,Argentina).
England the blue blood of soccer hasn't won one in 60 years.
Soccer is an after thought in US,we're doing well considering.We dominate Basketball,T&F which is the true test of athletic ability and that's why it's the only sport referred to as 'athletics'.

I was at the DMV and I waited for close 2 hours to get told I needed more paper work done to get a bureaucratic process done and they had the game in the back ground and it seemed that every clerk working at the place I was at was an Arab female cheering for Egypt. I left the office Egypt up 2-0 with about 25 minutes to go in the game and the saying "Long live the king the king is dead" was running through my mind.

I didn't bother to look for updates then I got a text from a relative that Argentina scored 3 straight in the final 10 minutes and salted away the game...
