2026 NFL Draft

Anyone have any predraft predictions, questions or observations?

A few from me:

Will John Lynch actually draft a White defensive player?

How many teams will draft multiple White athletes? How many will draft none?

I believe the second tier of QBs will be drafted in the following order: Nuss, Allar, Payton, Beck

Thieneman, Taaffe and Wisniewski all have the chance to get drafted - 3 White DBs drafted would be a plus.

Will the trends of White TEs going to teams with black QBs continue, same for the top tier White OL.

Leo, there has been a rumor that Lynch and the 49ers have been very interested in Michael Taaffe. I'm not easiIy buying it. I think the only two Whites he will consider are Thieneman and Golday. Both are elite players' that can start day 1. Perhaps he'll, also, consider the lighter skinned Latin LB from Texas Tech?

I doubt Lynch drafts defensive Whites that are non-stars, for depth purposes. I believe Dillon T's brother (ex-Purdue safety) was actually on Lynch's Practice squad briefly a few years ago. Very rare White defender on the 49ers rosters since Lynch arrived ...end he was on the deep fringes!

Taaffe needs to be drafted in the top 4 rounds to have any serious to start in the NFL. Based on what I've noticed, any White safety drafted after round 4 has a huge uphill climb to ever start. Wisniewski seems borderline in terms of being drafted. But I think he's starting caliber, regardless where he is drafted. Supposedly, the Cowboys like him a lot? Should be more highly regarded, considering he was one of the big money NIL catches for Texas Tech.

Love to see 4 or 5 White DB's drafted, but that seems to be unlikely, for obvious reasons :smilie-devil:

I like all the second tier quarterbacks you listed. But the NFL has been pretty hostile to any White QB not drafted in round one. And extremely hostile to White QB's selected after round 2. I exposed this in a thread years ago: New Caste System for White Quarterbacks

Brock Purdy has become a very rare outlier, among White QB's -- White QB drafted after round 1 or 2 allowed to start!

I see Denver loves Haynes King as a lefty Taysom Hill, hopefully they draft him and develop him. I think he could be a 1,000 yard running back.

Lynch has been pretty terrible as a GM. Last year the 49ers had quite a few picks and he failed abysmally. The only reason he still has a job is because Brock Purdy saved it after one of the worst all time trades for an all time bust in Trey Lance.

I saw that Vrabel will miss day 3 of the draft for counseling due to the alleged affair with the pig female sports “reporter”. Can’t make this **** up! Lol. Would be nice to see the Pats get a few more pale faces on the roster.

The first round of this year is going to be boring with very little intrigue outside of Thieneman’s landing spot and whether or not Simpson gets drafted in the first round. Mendoza looks to be a lock to the Raiders. Otherwise it’s just some White OL that look to be projected first round picks.

For once Danny Kannell had a good point. He sees Carson Beck as second QB off the board instead of Ty Simpson.

Doesn't Nick Bosa count?

I just don't get the endless Lynch bashing from some posters. He's put together the relatively White friendliest offense in the league year after year, one of the best from that perspective in the past 40 years, and has a team that's an annual Super Bowl contender. Purdy, Kittle, McCaffrey, Pearsall, Juice. He recognized the Trey Lance mistake early on and quickly corrected it whereas just about every other team would have stuck with Lance for years trying to realize his "upside" (see The Great Eight Year Kordell Stewart Experiment for a notable example).

Who are the better GMs in the NFL from a CF perspective? Do you really think he's going to have a defense that looks like his offense in the Caste NFL? The 49ers resemble the dynasty Patriots on both sides of the ball more than any team since. I can think of 31 other GMs who deserve criticism more than John Lynch.

Bosa does count but that is a sure fire elite no brainer. He is the only White defender taken out of the 55 picks Lynch has made during his tenure. The White outliers have all made up for so many of his terrible picks over the years. He gets come credit in free agency and via trades but he’s just as bad as the other 32 GMs in the league.

Last year seeing the 49ers pass on White players until the 6th round was the final straw for me. He should get criticized just like the “genius” was.

I think I’d put Allar and Beck ahead of Simpson based on size and experience. Still think highly of Simpson though.
My irrational favorite is Nussmeier. I do think this class has plenty of talent though and I rank Beck at the bottom top prospect list. Allar is also very underrated.

It really depends where they land. I think Beck and Nussmeier could go land somewhere and play right away. Simpson and Allar would benefit from sitting for a little.

Belichick wasn't criticized much until he went castetard and the New England dynasty promptly became a laughable bottom feeder. He was more like a CF folk hero when the Patriots were winning Super Bowls and AFC championships.

Every team deserves criticism for sure. But it's also true that John Lynch has seemed to "trigger" some posters here going back to his days as an announcer, and that in turn "triggers" me.

Lynch was a great safety, a Hall of Famer and one of the very few White stars on defense during the dark days of the 1990s and early 2000s. He later became a color announcer and I always considered him one of the best at that job. Not flawless, but it's a fair guess that he wasn't spending whatever spare time he had lurking on Caste Football. As a GM there's been no one better in recent years.

I hope the 49ers will help their defense in the draft, but their o-line is also in need of shoring up. That will help their stars on offense a helluva lot, especially as McCaffrey, Kittle and Juice are getting up there in football years. Having a mostly black defense is the tradeoff for having a "throwback" offense. It would be nice if the 49ers would add one or two more White starters on defense, but it's not a pressing issue for me; I'm much more concerned about them keeping a top offense.

Compare Lynch to Dan Morgan. Morgan was an excellent ILB and who knows, he may also have made it to Canton if injuries hadn't cut short his career. He's currently overseeing an historically black team. Will Morgan draft any White defensive players, or any White players at all?

At any rate I'm not trying to rain on our annual Draft Watch (rain is in the forecast for Friday and Saturday for Pittsburgh and from what I've been told umbrellas aren't allowed at the venue, so that could be interesting), let's enjoy the usual reaches, projects, etc., and the Castespeak that goes along with it.

At least the Giants won't get to draft Love

After last year's "generational talent" Jeanty was selected at 6. Another word that has just become pure caste speak.
Yes, this is great news. The Giants have 2 early picks but I don’t believe any other RB is good enough to be drafted that high.

Titans with a huge reach LOL.

Will Giants go sumo or draft another edge rusher a year after having the most hyped d-line going into last season?

Tate not at all a dominant WR in college. More of a deep threat but somehow that is worth the 4th overall pick.

Giants draft Avrell Reese who is compared to Abdul Carter a year after drafting Abdul Carter. Reese has laughable production over 2 seasons but somehow warrants being a top 5 pick. Draft season is retard season for the Giants!

Arvell Reese to the Giants with his 6.5 sacks.

Caden Curry with 11 will quietly go in the mid rounds. I wonder why…
