2025 NFL Week 2

how did the colts win? I just watched their kicker miss at 60 yards, turned off the game, just checked the score and they won somehow? Congrats Danny Dimes future comeback player of the year!
They called a 15 yard personal foul for leverage on the kick and he then made the shorter kick.

Busy today doing HVAC prep to having my system replaced after it died last week during 2nd summer here in KC. Chiefs-Eagles fest was a snoozer with both QB's stinking it up. Kelce becomes the goat after bobbling a sure TD pass and it becomes an interception. Also got to watch NINE tush-pushes by the Eagles, including one where the whole line got a 1/2 second head start before the ball snapped, touchdown. I hate that play. Drue Tranquill led the defense with four tackles and 2 assists. That's it.

Looking at the "Skol!" crowd in Minnesota I didn't see any diversity at all. I guess the sizeable invasive immigrant population isn't much interested in football. I guess it's too civilized or something.

No diversity on the Vikings defense either as their three White starters are all out for this game -- Van Ginkel has a concussion, Cashman is on four week IR with a knee issue, and Harrison Smith has some mysterious illness that hasn't been named. Supposedly Smith has a good chance of playing next week.

Not sure if anyone mentioned it but Cooper Kupp had 7 rec. for 90 yards today in a Seahawks win. Great to see him shining again. It's
still horrible how bad the Rams treated him with his talent & popularity there.

Skattebo was one of the best stories this week. Keep giving him at least 10-12 touches a game and he'll deliver.

I'd like to see the league get to a point with multiple McCaffrey/Skattebo types so that even factoring in injuries, bye weeks, and someone having a bad day, we can be treated to a good show by multiple Our Guys (TM) every week. Would make the NFL far more watchable than it is now.

Hopefully Shipley joins them sooner or later.

Can you say mega-bust? Legette was a first round draft choice just last year. The Panthers may be even worse than the Patriots when it comes to drafting "unlimited upside" at wide receiver. Meanwhile it looks like Hunter Renfrow may take over from Adam Thielen and become Carolina's leading receiver this season.

Xavier Legette caught 1-of-8 targets for -2 yards in the Panthers’ Week 2 loss against the Cardinals. Legette had one of the most stunningly inefficient games in NFL history. In fact, he’s the only player in the modern era to post negative receiving yards on eight targets.

but i bet his room brightening smile and tremendous upside make it all worthwhile. probably has dat wrist flick, too. LOL

Giants sumo tackle James Hudson was epically bad yesterday. Here he is clubbing the defender. Summary below.

But he'll get opportunities again and again that White athletes are denied.

Speaking of idiotic plays, this one by Steelers rookie RB Kaleb Johnson ranks up there. Lets a kickoff hit him and then instead of chasing the ball he stands there for a moment and then starts heading for the sideline while the Seahawks pounce on it in the endzone for a TD.

Johnson is a third round draft choice out of Iowa, taken to replace Najeh Harris, who was a reliable and durable workhorse for four seasons but also a plodding one with no special traits. Johnson looked bad in training camp and instead of replacing Harris he began the new season as third string behind even Kenneth Gainwell. He may still work out, but plays like this also show the general lack of preparedness and discipline that all Mike Tomlin teams do, but in this case the stupidity level was beyond coachable. Johnson also fumbled a kickoff last week against the Jets. Maybe find a new kick returner Mikey?

Something I noticed was that there seems to have been much fewer injuries to White players so far in Week 2, whereas a slew of black ones were hurt.
I agree. Also, is it me or does there seem to be, all of a sudden less ACL tears than normal? If so, that's great, but why? It seemed for years that there were ACL tears weekly. Am I wrong?

I really don't know if there are less or not. They're definitely still happening, but it doesn't seem like any notable White players have suffered one yet this season so maybe it is happening less often.

Looks like J. J. McCarthy is out 2-4 weeks with a high ankle sprain. The Vikings picked up Carson Wentz as his backup, which should prove to be a wise choice.

Always take pff with a grain of salt but 2 of the top 5 graded rb of week 3 was Skattebo and Cmac. So the only 2 whites allowed to play rb are in the top 5 graded players. Just like de and cb where the only whites allowed to play are literally all-pro level players

Looking forward to Wentz getting another chance to start. I don't have any issue with the Vikings taking their time with McCarthy getting back into the line up. Sitting is beneficial for a young QB.

Fun fact I just came across: Through two games, Jalen Hurts has two completions of 10-plus air yards.

The Eagles' star receiver A. J. Brown has 6 catches for 35 yards through two games. Very few of the "revolutionaries" are looking very revolutionary again this season, even less so than last season. Lamar Jackson is still carrying the torch but then there's quite the falloff. Lamar's "second in command" Jayden Daniels, like C. J. Stroud last year, seems to be not nearly as effective as he was in his rookie season and now has a knee sprain and may not play in Week 3. To update what the Wesley Snipes character said in a movie whose title I've forgotten, "When in doubt bet on white."

Skattebo has a chance to be a fan favorite like the legendary Mark Bavaro. A true throwback football player.

Didn't see any of that game but checked the score in the late 3rd quarter and I think he had less than 100 yards passing. For a supposed game of the week both QBs who are supposedly two of the best in the league were anything but. QB play has been pretty bad especially by the "revolutionaries" of the position so far. Is Hurts really better than guys like Marc Bulger? Matt Hasselbeck? Jake Delhomme? Trent Dilfer? Why is he treated so differently than the solid middle of the pack QBs? Another case of standards being lowered as they are in the rest of society?
