UConn true freshman Victor Rosa got the start for the Huskies against Ball State this past Saturday, and the nimble tailback showcased some impressive features. he finished the game with 72 yards on 14 carries, playing with patience and vision. he ran for 89 yards and 2 touchdowns on 16 carries a week ago. he is also the primary kick and punt returner.

Rosa, a high school quarterback, was the Connecticut Gatorade Player of the Year as a senior and has transitioned smoothly into the running back rotation at the collegiate level, surprising considering his head coach is caste disciple Jim Mora.

while it’s true that the true freshman got the nod due to injuries to 3 running blacks (he started the year 4th-string on the depth chart), Rosa has speed, agility, and vision, but he lacks strength on his slender frame. if he can improve in that area to help his yards-after-contact numbers improve, he has a chance to be a bell cow back in their program.

when is the last time a true freshman White tailback got the start at a Division One school? Sam McGuffie? maybe Carson Steele last year?
I recall Brandon Wegher at Iowa some ten years back. He screwed up his life with poor choices and was in the NFL for a couple years (practice squad for Panthers). He should have gotten a legitimate shot. He was as talented as a running back can come.

5’10”, 210 lbs of solid muscle and ran a legit 4.4 40-yard dash.

I don't think it has been mentioned here all season but true frosh. Rb Bryce Duke has been getting a number of carries this year for an underwhelming Virginia Tech team. In game 2 of this year he had a nice 27 yard reception for a td that was not in garbage time. He has been returning kickoffs as well but just lost out this week to Cole Beck who is finally injury free and is clearly the fastest player in college football with that 100 meter speed. Unfortunately he is not that good a football player though I am basing that on his high school rb days. I wonder with sub 10.1 100 meter some NFL team takes a gander his way. Probably not though.

Those are the kind of guys (and there are thousands) that get switched to safety or corner......Look at the big 12.....Every DB was probably a running back in high school but was converted to defense for those reasons....
But whitey collects splinters.

I can't find any updates on Carson Steele? Anyone heard or read anything? If Ball State can win their final game they can still make a bowl game after their up and down year. It would be nice to see Steele play again around the holidays. Such a devastating low to have him get hurt in the first half. He had 96 yards rushing and seemed well on track to a 200 yard game. What makes it even worse is he could have over
taken both running backs in front of him if he wouldn't have got hurt. Yes he could have been the leading rusher in the whole NCAA. He is
still this close even after missing the last part of the 2nd quarter and the whole 2nd half. Here are the NCAA Top Rushing Stats.

1 Chase Brown Illinois 1442 yards

2 Dewayne Mcbride U.A.B. 1404 yards

3 Carson Steele Ball State 1391 yards SUPERMAN/THOR :applaudit:

7 Brad Roberts Aif Force 1241 yards JET/ROCKETMAN :aplastao:

All that I can find is that Carson Steele may have a concussion and may miss next week's game due to concussion protocol. Now Eastern Michigan with Samson Evans is on.

Did anyone else notice that former Ohio State cornerback, Dustin Fox was the color commentator on the broadcast last night?

Jujst found this guy. Utah's Charlie Vincent appears to be fourth string rb right now but apparently due to injuries he started against Washington State this year and played quite a bit against Arizona. Hes a red shirt sophomore with alleged 4.56 speed. He has something like 18 carries for a 2.8 average which ain't good but at least one more guy to root for down the road. There has clearly been an uptick in honkies carrying the ball this year as opposed to the last 30 years I can remember.

I'll say one positive thing about the white rb situation. Minnesota has 3 real legit white guys that could tote the football next year. Teams like Ole Miss and Iowa State are offering white rbs for the first time in a VERY long time. Is this the McCaffrey effect ? Are coaches no longer afraid of the stigma they would get from the DWF population if they play a white rb ? I rememeber when Tre Smith of Auburn made his final starting debut against Miss State. He got and bout 20 carries and they were all up the gut and he had literally no blocking. I think he ran for about 38 yards or so and the home fans were booing him like it was his fault there was no room to run the ball. I mean nothing. McCaffrey has had bigger holes with San Fran and that ain't saying much. Its going to be schools like Clemson and Michigan that will hopefully give the opportunities for more white athletes to shine elsewhere. I had not spent a lot of time on Cole Cabana but was not impressed by the few videoes I have seen of him. I watched more of him a few weeks ago and this kid can shake and bake let alone the 4.34 speed. I hate to wish more injuries on Blake Corum but if Cabana is going to shine he may have to wait 2 to 3 more years because Corum is a 2nd rounder in my opinion.

I feel Fleck will just march another black RB to the front of the line and give him 35 carries a game. That seems to be his MO.

It was garbage time but in the first 3 games of the year redshirt walk on Preston Jellen got about 8 carries for I think abiout a 17 yard average. Ill look it up later and repost. The kids not bad. I mentioned another kid who might be second string by the end of summer practice and they still have the 4th string lb who is probably just as impressive as that Ibrahim guy who as you mentioned was getting like 30 carries a game kind of like Illinois rb who is going to cut into Aidan Laugherys eventual carries in a few years. I know we are biased here but there is so much white untapped talent that falls by the wayside for whatever reason. I am not a college coach or are any of us so we don't know what happens every day in practice butI was a pretty successful psychologist back in the day and I live by the rule of Occam's Razor. I wont explain it as it aint that complicated but most counseling is just common sense. Common sense tells me that the caste system is real and most coaches abide by it. Plain and simple. The information has beeen recorded on this site for 18 years. But sheeple are sheeple. Humans are the best and worst thing to ever happen to this planet and its sad to say but mental illness seems to be dramatically on the rise everywhere.

I agree, plenty of talented White athletes never get to see the field...we all know the reason they don't get the same opportunity. The caste system is a well oiled, well financed machine and all the human components that make up the system have no desire to ask questions or the false truths being sold.

I certainly hope we see some of these kids get meaningful playing time.

Jelen upon further review actually played in 7 games as a rb and 5 against big ten teams. He is listed as a fifth year senior but has 2 more years of eligibility. Minnesota will be starting senior Trey Potts next year but I really expect true soph. Cole Berghorn to run this guy down by mid season. Yes this is only due to watching high school highlights but Berghorn I am not going to hype like Rice's Dean Connors who I still think is an NFL talent but I am not coaching at Rice. I dont k now why he went from 2nd string back to fourth string back to 2nd string to getting an average of 2 carries a game. We are not there. Im not defending the caste system but sometime the answer is not always so simple as just the caste system alone. Just ranting.

So there are at least 4 RBs with 1,000 yards this year; 1. Brad Roberts 2. Carson Steele 3. Will Shipley 4. Samson Evans. Is that on par as usual or slightly better than usual over the past 15 years (for FBS)???

I’d say better.....I need to go back to my old notes, but 5 years ago when CMC crushed, maybe a couple other backs had 1000.....4 in FBS....???
It’s been years.......Some of my favorite backs ever were FCS guys. Zenner, Dudek......Steele and especially Shipley are certain NFL possibilities....Evans doesn’t look the part to the shallow NFL scouts...Roberts is awesome, but will suffer from service bias.

Next year looks promising. I’ll take the over if four is the line....Shipley, Steele, Skattebo, Rosa (shared duties today, but when he was in he was the better back).....Air Force has a few whiteys to take Roberts’ place.....Is Emmitt Jr playing next year? If not, maybe Filkins gets 1000. Castle?
Cabana or some other freshman?.....I’m taking the over......

I think we will see more white running backs break through. Shipley should dominate next year -I’m predicting +1500 yards. Steele is up in the air… not sure he will get the chance to be the guy at whatever school he signs with.

Just looking up some stats but Lincoln Pare of Texas State ran for 750 yards this season on a bad team. Maybe he hits the thousand yard mark next year but 990 would still be good to me

Yes hopefully he hits the 1k mark.

Odd to say 990 would be alright too, as that’s only 10 yards from what you first said you hoped he would reach. Typo?

Ouelads has some 2023 pre depth charts posted and in good news Cameron Skatebo is first for Arizona State yet Carson Steele is only third on UCLA which I am sure will change by next fall

I really dislike Steel to UCLA. I fear he **** himself in the foot. He should have stayed in Big Ten country where I think he would have received a more fair shot.
