I think so too. If Ouellette can carve out a decent career in this league he should be at least on a CFL roster carving out a decent career if not starring.

But to get a NFL shot you need to have super star CFL numbers for 2 years in a row and then usually a team will throw you a veteran minimum type deal with a decent signing bonus but not real guarantees.

PS I would probably take a CFL job over these other start up leagues who have proven nothing beyond that the are mercurial at best and flim flamy at worst.
Absolutely, that’s the angle I’m looking at as well. The CFL is a viable league with an established history. I’ve enjoyed watching the games when they’ve been on. Anything that gives more of our men a chance to pursue a dream is great (even if it mimics the racism of the NFL against white men). Borghi has too much football talent to not play somewhere.

Of course, he should be featuring in the NFL but if not, the CFL is a worthy second choice.

AJ Ouellette's Toronto Argonauts have made it to the CFL Championship this upcoming Sunday November 20 (Kickoff at 6:00pm EST on ESPN2).

Ouellette was named starting tailback in CFL Week 10 after an injury to mulatto Andrew Harris and outperformed many people's expectations. AJ finished the regular season with 516 rushing yards (5.3 YPC in 3-down football) + 350 receiving yards with 3 touchdowns in 13 games.

Ouellette's combination of superior explosiveness, agility and downright violent running style makes him such a joy to watch. He looks to initiate contact and loves trucking over the small CFL DBs and linebackers. When they go low he has no issues hurdling over tackles.

AJ was still listed as starter and had 91 total yards + 1 touchdown in last Sunday's Eastern Final, despite Harris returning from his injury.

AJ is expected to get the start once again on Sunday in what should be an epic clash against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers team that features a majority-White roster including starters and backups. A majority White team is as unusual in the CFL as it would be in the NFL.

The Bombers feature former NCAA star QB Zach Collaros, WRs Greg Ellingson, Dalton Shoen and Drew Wolitarsky, 3 Starting OLinemen, and start 3 of our guys on defense: DT Casey Sayles, DT Jake Thomas and LB Adam Bighill (CB Evan Holm also receives significant playing time).

The Argonauts only have RB AJ Ouellette and QB McLeod Bethel-Thompson + 3 OLine starters on their otherwise coal-black roster.

Halftime show will feature country singers Jordan Davis, Tyler Hubbard of Florida Georgia Line and Canadian Josh Ross.

US Audiences can watch on ESPN2. Kickoff is Sunday November 20 6:00PM EST.

Wow, thanks for the update. The “Canadian Super Bowl” sounds significantly better than what the NFL is going to present to the world this winter. The teams will certainly be “blacker” and the entertainment is almost certainly going to be a ghetto affair. I don’t think they let White people sing at NFL games anymore….

Thanks for that write-up! Nice to see some familiar names having success up north.

Thanks, I wonder where Shoen ended up.
Thank you for asking about Dalton Shoen...

Shoen actually led the CFL in receiving yards, most receiving touchdowns and most touchdowns overall, finishing the regular season with 70 catches for 1477 yards and 17 touchdowns. He was just named the CFL's Rookie of the Year for 2022.

If he replicates this success next season, who knows, maybe he follows Brandon Zylstra's path and signs in the NFL after his second CFL season. He would need to wait until the end of 2023 season to sign with any NFL team due to the 2-year CFL contract.

Shoen is a big play threat anytime he is on the field.

I found Shoen's 2022 highlights on Youtube:

Those are great highlights thanks. How many months of bad ice in Winnipeg 2 or 3?

I knew Schoen had loads of talent when as a walk on at KState he was routinely burning world's best Affletic DBs at Texas and OU. Awesome to see him dominate CFL!

Ha! Are you kidding? Winnipeg is the coldest city in Canada! The ground is covered in snow and ice for an average of 6 months per year, usually from late October until April.

Last week's West Division Final was in Winnipeg, played in snow and ice: (another dominant performance by Shoen)

Today's Grey Cup will be in Regina Saskatchewan, comparably balmy weather expected: 27 Fahrenheit / -3 Celsius at Kickoff at 5pm Central Time.

it appears that Winnipeg starts a White running back, in addition to their trio of White receivers and quarterback. pretty cool to see such a lineup, especially for their league’s championship.

Brady Oliveira seems like a mystery meat, which is why I didn’t mention him in the initial breakdown.

AJ Ouellette with a 5-yard touchdown run to give Toronto the lead! 14-10 with 11:05 remaining in Q3.

Well worth watching, thanks for the rec. Did not watch a second of NFL yesterday nothing I was interested in watching. I only wish they had tried to get the ball to Dalton a bit more but it was good to see Ouelette get his touches and CDs.

Of course he goes to the same team Oulette signed with. Can’t have two white running backs.
