Clearly, it's all about the system with Welker, including that incredible outside catch.

Welker could break 200 yards today, which might pad the early losses of Gronk and Woodhead. Still hoping Woodhead can come back today. GO PATS:biggrin:

Great one handed catch by Welker. Jim Nance goes to commercial by saying he "finds a way to get it done".

6 catches for 120 yards for Welker after that 47-yard bomb.

You beat me to it my friend. I predicted Welker would have a monster day with around 120 yards in receiving
before the game. Little did I know he would do it in the first half. Go for 200 yards Wes. Show all of America
who is the best receiver in the NFL for the last 5-6 years! No one catches more receptions than this guy. He is
as good as they come period! Wake up dumb fans and root for these guys! We are witnessing history!

spread option is a generic term for the new brand of option football, back in the day option football was like Nebraska with Eric Crouch, its what Navy and Air Force runs. The spread part is because most teams use 3 to 4 receiver sets. You could say the Patriots use a spread offense Although spread also kind of meant to literally spread the field with linemen lining up further apart, the idea being that the defensive ends are further away from the qb but teams vary on how wide the linemen line up.

Basic zone read is leaving a defender unblocked usually the de, allowing the offensive line to get good double teams, if the unblocked defender comes after the qb, he hands off, if he comes after the rb he runs. It has evolved and there are many wrinkles since there is a way to stop the basic zone read.

pistol formation combines the benefits of lining up in shotgun with the benefits of having a downhill running game like the i formation or single back sets. The spread option has had problems with power running out of shotgun, Florida combated the problem with having Tebow run up the middle. Nevada came up with the pistol formation, so your rb is going downhill when taking the handoff. The qb lines up 4 yards behind the center and the rb 3 yards behind the qb, in shotgun the qb is 5 to 7 yards with the rb more to the side. I've never understood why more teams don't adopt the formation, its not that big of an adjustment, usually in the NFL the qb is only 5 yards back in shotgun.

It makes things easier on the qb because they crowd the box for the run, they have to worry about the qb or rb running and the qb passing, it usually gives the qb single coverage when passing. A good deal of college defenses have gotten used to it and have found ways to slow it down. Although every couple of years they add some new wrinkles in that makes it harder to defend with guys like Chip Kelly usually staying ahead of the game. This is the first year the NFL has had to prepare for a full spread option attack, with Washington's being the most complicated, Shanahan mixing in his potent zone blocking scheme in with the spread option.

Thanks dwid.

Whenever I argue with DWF's about how scam, gremlin, etc only put up good numbers because of the systems they play in they always say "oh yeah if it's such a great system then why doesn't every team use it ? ". And I have nothing to say to that.

Over on Drudge the top headline is the score of the game along with huge pics of Brady and Watt.

Drudge is very savvy in ginning up huge numbers of hits on his web site by playing the racial angle in all facets of life in Amerika. Most of the sole negro stories are about their dysfunctiality and proness to crime. Basically he singing to choir (people like me) and educating DWFs and the rest of dumb Amerika.

Glad that NE is romping, but bummed that Woody is injured. Anyone know the extent? The other backs are thriving right now. It seems that Woody has the worst luck. He would have been featured big time tonight if not for the injury. Just when I believe that Woody has estiblished a large vital role, he gets injured or one of the other running affelets gets in a groove. So frustrating. Hopefully its nothing too serious.

Drudge has formed a semi-alliance with Alex Jones, which has greatly increased traffic to Jones' sites. Drudge's traffic is mind-boggling.

Vereen's great performance tonight could have been Danny's, if not for his bizarre thumb injury during a carry on the first play. I just noticed a shot of Woodhead sitting on the bench and he didn't seem to be in pain.

Barring some mercile by Houston, hopefully he and Gronkowski can recover for next weeks matchup against the Rwanda Ravens. At the very least, if New England makes the Superbowl, these two white stars will have three weeks to heal.

This game is a carbon copy of the earlier NE-HOU game. It's a blowout, with NE's black players making all the plays and scoring all the TDs. No Gronk, no Woodhead, no Edelman, and just Welker with a decent game.

Yeah, the Blackhawks lost, but overall, given the possibilities and expectations, this has been a hugely disappointing weekend.

A disappointing weekend to be sure, but the bottom line is all the relatively White friendly teams made the playoffs this year and the Patriots have a good chance to play in the Super Bowl again. A New England-Atlanta Super Bowl was the second or third best possible matchup going into the playoffs after New England-Green Bay, as Minnesota is not a serious contender yet. Denver-Green Bay would also have been a nice matchup.

Yeah, I'd be fine with New England v. Atlanta. Especially if the white players like Gronkowski and Woodhead are recovered in time.

Blacks really do not like the Pats. Today they started 11 whites (just like Houston). On offense it was 9 whites and one Hispanic.

Only 1 Negro is good enough to start on the best offense in the league! A true slap in the gob to the DWFs, biased media and black racists.

Man, still pissed about Gronk and Woody getting injured and not playing. I really hope they return for the Ravens and later the SB. I keep telling my self that Woody will have a watershed performance in the playoff and SB, where all the DWFs will say "where did he come from? man, I did not know a white man could run like that."

Unfortunately, Gronkowski re-broke his forearm today according to early reports. . .

Gronk is done for the rest of the year. The hits just keep coming. At least Hernandez is not an affelet and can play. I hope not to hear the other shoe drop regarding Woody. Just a sprain I hope.

Well, not the best outcome this weekend, but certainly not the worst. Can you imagine all the black quarterbacks winning with the prospect of 24/7 BSPN telling us of the "new breed" of quaterback emerging in the NFL.

There is now the real possiblity of seeing NE vs ATL in the SB.

This is a huge blow to NE and their chances for the remainder of the playoffs. I still believe they would've won the SB last year with a healthy Gronk.

They now have the Ravens and possibly SF coming up, both without the best TE in the league. Both teams give them trouble and beat them earlier this year, so we'll see how the rematches go.

This has been a bad year for injuries to White players. Key linebackers, receivers, Gronkowski, Woodhead losing a great opportunity today. Have to hope for a healthier 2013 season.
