Of course they blew it. Losing to Detroit 8-3. How pathetic. My days of still being a Yankee fan are numbered. How ridiculous.

A-Rod has been hammered by Yankee fans and writers for not producing in the post season. His super star status has diminished considerably. The claim has been made that hecompiles good numbers during the regular season, but when it's all on the line he folds like a tent. Even celebrity tycoon Donald Trumphas criticised him.Alexwas 1-14 against the Tigers, hitting at a .071 clip. He won't be referred to as Mr. Clutch.

The Yankees are going with a fading philosphy in building a team, buying the most expensive players mostly non-white. Since non-white players are highly overvalued it means that the only smart money is on pitchers (who are mostly white). But pitchers are a delicate commodity and paying big bucks for a Randy Johnson at this point in his career is risky.

Detroit is built around some fantastic young white pitchers, and one old one (Kenny Rodgers) and in a short series that makes the difference.

What if the Tigers win the World Series on Devils Night? It might resemble Dresden in 1945.

Much of it already does.

The Yankees in their current run have led a charmed life. It was VERY problematic that two of their home-grown products from the 1988-1995 minor league cradle would turn out to be world-class talents (Derek Jeter and Bernie Williams) with both discipline and longevity.

These two gents have been the real backbone of the recent Yankee dynasty. George S. has merely surrounded them with stolen players from elsewhere. Any new crop of Yankee farm graduates will be less magnificent than Jeter and Williams. The Yanks will fade into the pack, to the absolute rage of their absolute dictator George S.

Kudos for Rogers and Bonderman for shutting down the Yanks for about 16 innings.

And how about the celebration? I've never seen players spray champagne on the fans! Pretty wild.

Damn Yanks have gotten too cocky, that's why they always blow it when it comes down to the nitty gritty. I've given up...LET'S GO METS!

The A's and Cardinals are two easy choices for me to root for over the Tigers' and Mets' model UN teams.

One of the local rags ran an article today by Bob Klapisch of The Record (Hackensack, NJ).According to Klapisch, theYankees' unhappy and dysfunctional locker room was causedin great part byRandy Johnson and Mike Mussina, one a sure Hall of Famer and the other a likely one. They are also among the very few white stars on the team. Guess he ran out of space before he could add Jason Giambi to his ring of villains.

So typical Don,In Pittsburgh a few years back,it was Kendall and Giles, and in L.A and NY it was Mike Piazza! The establishment tried to spread the word that Piazza was gay,and then he married one of the most beautiful women on the planet!

Someone named,"Rosenthall',on espn, took verbal shots at Mike Last week!

Yeah, the A's or the Cards winning would be nice. I can't stand the Mets new status as the PC "Hispanic team."

Despite their current racial proportions, if the Tigs win the series through great performances by their starting pitchers and Brandon Inge, then maybe the excellence of the white athlete might stand out all the more. Bonderman and Rogers just stunned the Yanks!

Re: Mussina and Johnson. Mussina and Randy did their respective jobs (15 wins--despite being out for two weeks--and 18 wins). As for the locker-room chemistry issue, all I remember is that Mussina made a few mildly critical noises about A-Rod when he was playing really lousy, saying that the Team needed the "real A-Rod to show up."

Fact is AROD was AWOL during this series.

This is a downer of a post season as far as baseball is concerned especially compared to the last two years. In 2004 the WHITE Red Sox beat the very white Cardinals. Last year the WHITE White Sox beat the extremely white Astros.

This year the best we have is 4 position players out of the nine being white on the A's and Cards. The A's have Mark Kotay in center (the rare white centerfielder, for some reason only winning teams have them), Nick Swisher in left, Jason Kendall at catcher, Dan Johnson at first. Eric Chavez is the third baseman, he is a really white looking dude born in LA (we know where he got his baseball genes). Should the A's make the series Frank Thomas will probably take over at first for Johnson.

The Cards have Jim Edmonds in center (another white centerfielder on a winning team), Scott Rolen at third, Dave Eckstein at short and Chis Duncan in left.

Detroit has a nearly all white pitching staff (as do most of the others with the Mets being the least white.) Brandon Inge is the little appreciated 3rd baseman and late season career ender Sean Casey is at first. That's all folks.

Even the Mets are better. Shawn Green is in right, David Wright at third and Paul Do Luca at catcher.

I predict the Tigers to win it all because they are my hometown team and I won't enjoy any of it partly because people like myself that are in the auto business should not be cheering for hispanics that are taking American jobs. They got teams in Santa Domingo, play there foreign invaders!!!
