It might be a little early...but sophomore to be WR-Trey Quinn (Barbe HS/Lake Charles LA) is now on the radar! Still growing between 6'-0/6'-1" & 172-185...big-time vertical threat! Was dunking a basketball in 8th grade at 14! Also a baseball player...LSU will have to take a long look at this emerging prospect!

MAX PREP 1st Team WR Freshman All American; 5-A Honorable Mention All State...Check-out is his freshman highlights from last year! He had 65 receptions...1,288 yards & 9 TD's!

Trey Quinn having an impressive soph. season so far! He finished the regular season(10 games) with 51 receptions & 959 yards...11 TD's! Back on Sept 30th had the best single-game most receptions with 16 for 335 yards(2nd best) & 3 TD's vs power-house St.Thomas More!

His team has a 7-3 overall record entering the playoffs...

Wonder how Eric Decker & Jordy Nelson compared to Quinn at this early stage??

Only going to be a Junior...Coach Les Miles/LSU was so impressed at this weeks LSU Summer Camp he offered Trey Quinn a scholarship! Quinn created a buzz; stood out ahead of the big-time Senior Class of 13' prospects. Clocked at a 4.39 in the 40 and getting open at will....

Rivals.com needs to update his profile...now at 6'-0 188 & 4.39...they need to correct his VJ. Attended Alabama & Texas A&M camps; BYU also interested...favorites include Austin Collie & Ryan Broyles...also baseball prospect; but football appears #1.

The message boards are buzzing..caste speak and comparisons to Welker of course...wish you all could see the message boards! Promising future for a bright young player..sky is the limit!

Freshman...65-1,288 - 9
Soph.... 67-1,220-12...rushed 65-483-11TD's from Tailback & QB in Wildcat QB

Enters his Junior season he has 132 receptions...2,508 yards...21 TD's at the 5A Level!

Jordy Nelson comes to mind once he is fished growing; but Trey will not have to walk-on anywhere.

Nelson was a quarterback/db in high school. Remember that Kansas St originally had him playing safety before switching him to receiver in his sophomore year because of team need. As far as Decker, Quinn's already surpassed his high school yardage total.

Quinn has some incredibly gaudy stats for a rising junior playing 5A ball.

After catching up with the parents of Trey Quinn, we were eager to learn of this newest development. Dave Quinn, father of Trey, was a major part in getting Trey ready to compete at this camp. With an invitation to represent the LA Bootleggers, Quinn passed in order to be fresh for his biggest audition. That turned out to be a correct decision for the Quinn family as a whole.

Dave shared a few interesting aspects about what transpired today. "Up until a few hours ago, we were not sure what was going to happen," says Dave. "Coach Miles even spoke a little bit about the perception of white receivers as a whole, and obviously Trey broke the stereotype."

When campers first learned that Trey managed to clock a 4.39 forty, the buzz begin to heighten surrounding the electric receiver and teammate of DeSean Smith from Barbe high school.

"We are extremely humble people, and Trey just wanted to get this offer more than anything. We won't make this into a grand circus, and probably have a decision coming sooner than later," says Dave.

With the Quinn family leaving the facilities to go enjoy some lunch, we are expecting some quotes directly from Trey after lunch. As we were speaking with Trey's dad, Trey was on the phone telling his mom, and sharing in the good news.

Thanks Highlander...that is my ammo in CasteSpeak 2012...what the black QB endured in the 70's & 80's...the white skill player is enduring now & has been for some time!

Trey Quinn went to 2 Summer Camps...got 2 offers...LSU & Texas A&M....if he went to all 124 FBS Camps...he would get 124 offers!

Class of 2014 at WR is one of the deepest ever in La...A few ignorant posters on local LSU site talks of Quinn as being the more "polished" WR...But the other 2 have more "potential"...and they got called out by posters saying "code" words for white & black...being insulted! Good to see some fighting back! BTW... Quinn has tremendous upside!

Last Week vs St.Thomas More in a 42-35 loss...Barbe dropped Ranking to #4 in 5A.

Trey Quinn had 12 receptions for 212 yards & 2 TD's(a tremendous back of the end zone w/ one foot in catch!)

Now thru 5 games....36-803-8 TD's....

I wish he would have waited longer to make his decision. He's only a Sophomore, he has plenty of time to decide. I remember two or three years ago LSU offered a 4-star White DE (can't remember his name) and he accepted the offer after Caste-slut coach Miles visited him personally in his home and convinced him to go to LSU. I don't think he's played a single snap since.

Trey Quinn is now a Junior...he has not made a decision yet...he is taking his time. It looks to be between LSU & Texas A&M

Another big game last night in a 31-28 win...Don't have final stats..was unable to attend game.

You may be talking about (soph) DE-Jordan Allen 6'-6" 253 who they are very high on...unfortunately he is OUT for the year with knee injury a few weeks ago on special teams. He should be the projected starter next year; curently behind 2 projected 1st Round Picks.

Plays in the strongest 5A District in the state

Can play safety in a pinch when the game is on the line too.

College football teams from coast-to-coast have been jumping on the Trey Quinn bandwagon in recent months... Many schools seemed to step back when LSU and Texas A&M made early offers after Summer Camps last year....Now has 20 offers including Notre Dame, Clemson, Cal, Nebraska, Duke, Auburn, Ole Miss, Miss State, Arizona State, Texas, Oklahoma State, Cincinnati, Georgia Tech etc ...

Quinn now listed at 6'-1" 200 4.39(Rivals needs to update photo) ended his junior season as Louisiana's Leading Receiver with 115 receptions...2,141 yards & 26TD's!! His gaudy three year career totals so far...247 receptions...4,649 yards...47 TD's

His Barbe HS team lost in the 5A State Championship...he is taking the year off from baseball... is now running track...focusing on weight lifting & becoming a better receiver.

Trey Quinn landed at #37 Overall on ESPN's Top 300 HS Prospects Class of 14'.... &.... #3 WR in the U.S.! He could also become the nations all time leading WR at the rate he is going....

http://espn.go.com/college-sports/f...sition/wide-receiver/class/2014/view/position

Quinn has narrowed his list to......LSU, Clemson, Texas Tech, Ole Miss, Auburn, Texas, Oklahoma State, and Notre Dame

Of ESPN's Top 100 WR's...ONLY 7 are white...after Quinn at #3....there is not another WR until #53...Ian Sadler who committed to Texas Tech. # 55 Braxton Barrios(NC)...#63 Garrett Gray-TX (6'-4")...#65 Troy Apke(PA)...#71 CJ Worton(FL) & #100 Mike Dudek...there does seem to be a few mixed players too.

6'-6" 225 Mark Andrews is listed as a TE

Quinn is good enough to be a future college Center Fielder in baseball(State Champ HS Team as Soph)...however he did not play this past year...instead he ran track to work on his explosiveness.

I normally associate the name Trey with Blacks. This is the first time seeing a White athlete with that name.

LSU is also after the nation's top receiver, Malachi Dupre (River Ridge, La./John Curtis) and the nation's top-rated athlete, Speedy Noil (New Orleans/Karr), who projects as a wide receiver.
"It's awesome to have an opportunity to be part of what could be a great class," Quinn said. "It's like the Miami Heat. When you build something special, everyone wants to be a part of it. It's really exciting to have so many of us from Louisiana."

"People talked about LSU and Clemson, but there was also Ole Miss, Texas Tech and Auburn," Quinn said.

LOL that kid is naive if the believes he will be a big part of the offense. If he's lucky they will convert him to Safety and let him play on special teams. :rip:

That said his other choices except Texas Tech were all horrible.

No doubt the Class of 14' WR's in Louisiana could be the Strongest ever....but Trey Quinn breaks the mold..it does not matter if the others come or not...he is NOT going to cower due to a little competition! It has to start somewhere/sometime & it starts with him...let the dominos fall! He is an elite athlete!

Les Miles realizes it's been a long time since LSU has had a starting white WR...He even had a special conversation with Quinn about this...he wanted Quinn to play at LSU badly; he is WAY ahead of guys like Welker & Nelson were at that point of their careers...Miles had Hester & Steltz during their 07' National Championship!

Sure Texas Tech might have been the best avenue; they already have a few white WR's & Clemson starts WR-Adam Humphries; Quinn has more game than him!

Open the floodgates! Obliterate the stereotypes!

At Georgia Kris Durham's emergence helped paved the way for Michael Bennett...& now Rhett McGowen is playing too...

With names like Nelson & Abbrederis being mentioned here of CF...it had to be time for a Trey Quinn update! He has a shot to become the ALL-TIME LEADING RECIEVER in H.S. HISTORY at this current pace!

Thru 4 games so far in his Senior season at Barbe HS in Lake Charles LA....Trey Quinn has 29 receptions...for 605 yards & 7 TD's; (including 79, 60, 50, 48, 27, 21 & 18 yds) & 1 Kickoff Return TD from 92 yds out!

Washington-Marion....9-138-1...Eddie Kennison's old HS
La Grange..... 8-117-2
West Monroe....6-163-2...Power House program produces some NFL Talent
Carencro....6-187-2...Kevin Faulk's old HS

See if this is the proper link with his Senior highlights
http://www.hudl.com/athlete/o/1040088/highlights/77047939

Also shows his speed when his QB throws a couple of INT's and he catches them from behind!

Quinn now ONLY needs 358 more receiving yards to BREAK Louisiana's All-Time Receiving Record! & 747 more yards to BREAK the All Time National Record! set by Dorial Beckham-Green!

Quinn leads Louisiana in receiving yards w 861 after just 5 games so far!

Barbe WR Trey Quinn, an LSU commitment, caught 14 passes for 152 yards TD(from 71yds) in Friday's 42-21 win over Sulphur.

In the process Quinn became the Louisiana's "ALL TIME" Leader in career receiving yardage with 5,881 to surpass former LSU wide out Abram Booty of Evangel.

Quinn, who also holds Louisiana's receptions mark with 327, needs 475 yards to surpass the national mark for career receiving yardage held by current Missouri receiver Dorial Green-Beckham. Quinn, who is fourth all-time in national receptions, needs 31 to catch Davis Howell of Christian Academy of Knoxville.

After 9 games in his Senior season....Quinn leads Louisiana in receiving this year with 78 receptions...1,282 yards & 14 TD's!

Last Friday Trey Quinn had 10 receptions...299 yards...4 TD's!!+ 2 carries...53 yards & TD.... as 8th ranked Barbe(5A) beat Sam Houston 70-35....

The 10-game regular season now complete....Trey Quinn finished w 88 receptions....1,581 yards & 18 TD's! Quinn now needs only 176 yards to Break the All-Time Leading Receiver in Yardage in the U.S....they will be in the playoffs so he can break it!

Some are wondering why Rivals.com keeps Quinn as a 4-Star...& not elevate him to a 5-Star?? A few have stated on internet chat boards that "White WR's get a 1-Star reduction" for being melanin deficient! That's OK...Trey has a bright future no matter the stars!
