Anyone else think its kind of stupid you have a bunch of American born players playing for another country? I think its stupid Mike Piazza is playing for Italy - was he born there? But on the other hand it might be cool to see some of the other countries play.

Interesting arrangement. I wonder why England or Ireland or Germany doesn't have teams made up of Americans who are part of their particular ancestery? Why just Italy? Is it because Italians are so noticeable because of their names? How about Polish or Slavic players?
 
Didn't Eric Karros play for Greece in the last Olympics?

This whole World Baseball Classic is going to be a disaster. It is poorly organized and cuts through Spring Training. What some players get hurt? Then what, all for a glorified exhibition. Baseball has gone down hill since they intergrated. Trying to promote the sport as a worldwide sport through multicultural schemes has been their downfall. Japan practices limited segregation and its number one over there. The NFL primarly targets Americanblacks and poor Whites from the Midwest to play several positions, and they are the number one sports. Stop trying to include everyone in the tent and focus on your paying White American Audience and their needs.
 
Two White Sox players(Buehrle, Iguchi) already dropped out of WBC.

"Unfortunately, I've decided to withdraw from the squad," Iguchi said while training in Japan's southernmost island of Okinawa, Kyodo News agency reported. "This is the second year of my two-year contract with the White Sox. The team expects more from me than in the first year, so I would have to be in Spring Training."

"I turned down to play in the World Baseball Classic," Buehrle told host Chris Rongey on Saturday morning. "The main reason is that I want to be ready for the season, and I don't want to cheat our fans and my teammates."

It will only be sucessful in Latin America. You don't see many Latin players dropping out like Buehrle or Iguchi. I will say this about Latin players: they play for their country, they have national pride. Not that I'm saying Iguchi or Buehrle don't, its just that MLB means so much more to them; playing in some new tournament, which hardly measures what country has the best talent, could be a risk they're not willing to take. Besides this will be no better than watching Olympic baseball, which is what WBC is replacing. Sure there will be MLB playing, but most players will be getting ready for MLB.Edited by: Bear-Arms

It will be much easier rooting for the USA baseball team without Mr. Steroids on the team. I am glad he won't be on it. I love the whole concept of a world cup of baseball...I believe we still play it better here with all due respect to japan, cuba and other latin countries.
 
I am very happy to see Bonds drop, and with any luck he'd just give it all up before we are forced to have Bonds passing Ruth shoved down our throats when he does this year.. (When he likely will, but I certainly hope not.) The media will certainly have an anti-white field day when this happens..

The tv promos have various Latin players representing various Latin teams. And Asians for Asian countries.

But for America? Derek Jeter.

America's Team: The Mulattos

Of course soccer's world cup, where the whole idea came from, is just as debased. France has virtually no French players. England is coached by a non-Englishman (and will be yet again handicapped by the insipid play of their Black players, a country that can produce Owens, Beckham and Rooney can certainly find adequate English replacements for the Carib clock watchers that infest the squad). Freddie Urdu (sp.?) was seriously considered for the American team.

All team members and coaching staff should be exclusively born and bred in their respective countries. Otherwise it is not a competition between nations but rather a contest between mercenaries and opportunists.

While less so than others, Jeter has still managed to bemoan his status in a racist country like America. Yet he's happy for the 'opportunity' to represent that same country. Charming.
 
What channel is this crap suppose to be on tomorrow? I been searching the net for 20 minutes.

I found it on ESPN2, its boring, and there is only 3 white starters.
 
I'm watching it off and on right now in between job related stuff and there are only three white starters today. But the pitching staff is mostly white and the starting lineup is likely to be different at times(hopefully). Prediction...Mark Texeira for eventual MVP.
 
Chipper Jones just hit a solo Home Run to give the Americans a 2-0 lead over the Mexicans bottom of the 7th. Michael Young just came in the game at short. So there is some white representation on the team. So three white starters(plus the pitcher) and the first two subs are white.
 
A lot of the players seem a little rusty since its only March. Jeter made an error today, I don't watch the Yankee's a lot, but I don't think that happens very often.

I think 12 of the 14 pitchers are white. I know all 3 catchers are white. Plus 4 of the 7 infielders are white and 2 of the 6 outfielders are white(if you count Damon).
 
I count Damon. 2 1/2 of the 6 outfielders are white!
 
White Canada is just smoking USA right now. Dontrelle Willis allowed most of the runs.
 
This will be embarrassing if we at least don't make it into the second round in our national pasttime.
 
As long as it's not Venezuela or Cuba for obvious political reasons. I wouldn't mind too much if Canada or Austrailia won. Japan and Korea are fine too.

Not to me since it's obviously not OUR national pasttime anymore. There aren't hardly any Whites in the field for us. I didn't get to see the game ,but from the skimpy highlight I saw, it looked as though Canada were all White or close to it. I'll be rooting for them and Australia. These international competitions are the best events to see our people compete in as teams, for other countries of course.Edited by: KG2422
 
There are plenty of whites on the team for us. It's a majority white team. Of course it's not going to be all white. Dontrelle Willis stinked yesterday but he did put up the kind of numbers last year worthy of being selected to the team. Roger Clemens starts the next game against South Africa. Does anybody know if that team is majority white represented?
