Well Wimbledon has started (actually like a week ago or something) and all of the favorites are moving along. Except V. Williams who was "upset" today. Oh well...go Martina!

Interesting to see if Nadal can down Federer on grass should they meet.

No Williams sisters for the media to fixate on!

James Blake is out too. Unfortunately Hingis also lost, and Agassi in his last Wimbledon appearance lost to Nadal. Maria Sharapova is playing well, would be nice to see her win it again.

I was reading an ESPN.com story on Agassi's loss and they have this quote from Nadal: "On the warm up, the five minutes, I was thinking I'm going [to] lose easy," Nadal said. "Agassi was touching the ball unbelievable, very low, very tough. I can't return the ball. But in the match, always is different, no? Maybe I serve my best day in my career, sure."

Now, the media always cleans up quotes from black athletes, making them appearto befluent speakers of the language even though after 400 years in America many still speakEnglish as though it were a foreign language. Why not do the same for Nadal, a young Spaniard who is learning English? It's not a big deal, but is typical of the way the media operates.

That's a really perceptive point about the language. I had never thought of that before but it sure feels right.

Too bad about Martina.

Sharapova got knocked out in the semis by Amelie Mauresmo, the player Martina Hingis once referred to as "half a man."

Clijsters lost to Henin-Hardenne. Far from an ideal finals matchup. At least Federer and Nadal seem headed for a showdown.

It's curious, especially in the hysteria over Ozzie Guillen's comment, that Federer is now being accused of having no balls. Guess he just hasn't been successful enough the past few years for the Caste System.

Here's a ridiculous article from a member of the homo-oriented corporate media:

I think it is not fair to refer to Mauresmo as "half a man".
In my opinion she is all man, or at least 98%.
The closest thing to a man in drag playing in a major sporting event I have ever seen.

Nadal and Roger are through to the finals. Who would have thunk it? Nadal's transition to the grass is a pleasant surprise. It's great for tennis, with the dynamics and all between the two. It will be fascinating to watch the tactics in this one. I'm throwing the French Open final out of the equation, I still contend that was just a sub-par performance by Roger, even taking into account his record against Nadal. Now if something similar happens, I've got splaining to do Lucy.

I know Andy Roddick lost in the third round, but I thought he was getting back into the groove. He just tore it up in his second round match and played great. In the third he ran into Andy Murray who had the match of his life. Unfortunate for Andy R. that you match up with someone on a day that they could do no wrong. There are rumors out there that he is looking at Jimmy Conners as a coach. My own opinion is that he should not get so agitated when things don't go his way. He seems to get all edgy and he can't flow with the match.Edited by: Quiet Speed

Nadal made it interesting after the first set but Federer never lost control of the match. Four in a row, what an achievement.

I have to give John McEnroe credit. He was very easy to listen to, lots of good observations and didn't make any disparaging Caste System type comments. But then again how could he watching two such great athletes duel against each other. Tennis is an excellentexample of a sport where the white advantage in spacial cognition is very evident. Blacks, Asians and other non-whites have always had a very token presence in tennis and that's unlikely to change despite the periodic media hoopla over alleged up and coming black American phenoms.

I want you all to know that I Googled Mauresmo in an attempt to find a more flattering photo of her, one that would show her 'feminine' qualities. I couldn't find any. Everyone of the pics I saw made her look like a man with long hair. As a matter of fact, the photo of her in this thread was one of the most flattering available. Her broad muscular shoulders and square jaw are too much to overcome.

Mr. Williams with another trenchant observation(from an article on SI.com):

"Afterward, Richard Williams pointed to the recent success in tennis of women from Eastern Europe and took a shot at the U.S. Tennis Association, saying it's looking for future tennis stars in the wrong places -- "in the white neighborhoods" and "not in the ghetto." Starting out in Compton, Calif., he raised his daughters to become champions. And there they were Tuesday, at the All England Club, one helping the other."

Maybe I'm missing something but aren't most if not all of the Eastern Europeans from white neighborhoods?

The morning rag carried an AP article about how Venus was the U.S.'s lone "bright spot" by winning her match, but it was a hard-foughtthree-set match against an obscure unseeded Russian who had never played at Wimbledon before. I'm looking forward to seeing both Williams sisters lose, especially Big Booty.

John McEnroe asked why Serena would cramp up in the second set of a grass court match after a 6-2 first set. Not exactly marathon tennis on an overcast day. He did mention diet among other things as possible reasons. I have no idea what he was alluding to. He better be careful, though, that might be perceived as some kind of conjecture on his part. It's a good way to run afoul of the powers that be, unlike a black guest on Espn this morning. It's perfectly fine to speculate if Roger Clemens is a product of ped's - he's big, something's going on.

As a side note, from the time I was in jr. high I noticed many, many black
athletes would play up pain, cramps, injuries while involved in a tough
match. Whether they were kids or professional affletes. This holds true
today, with black outfielders lying prone in the outfield after a good
catch to make it look tougher, like they hurt themselves to make an
awesome play or tennis players tied 5-5 who get cramps - just in case
they can't pull it off they can say it was the cramp/injury that kept them
from what should have been resounding victory. They are like children,
like Willie Mays wearing his hat loose so that it would fly off his head
when he was running. Like losing sprinters pulling up lame with a
hamstring pull when losing a race - then magically running in a big meet
a week later a la Mo Greene. Edited by: Colonel Callan

HA, HA , HA...Serena's nemesis strikes again! Justine Henin beat Serena today 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.

Of course Serena was her usual classless self after the match saying:

"Definitely not 100% at all," Williams said. "It was probably at 40 or 50 â€â€￾ max. If I had been healthy I think I would have won, 100%."

The opening sentence of the article:

"Justine Henin took advantage of an injured Serena Williams at Wimbledon on Wednesday..."

"Injured?" Now that I think about it she was probably faking it in her earlier match just to have an excuse against Henin. Someone she knows has her number.

Either way the result is the same. Good day.

I can't decide who is more disgusting -- the she-creatures, their pathetic father or the Negrophiles in the media?

Any world-class tennis player who actually was playing at 40-50% would get
completely smoked. What a liar.

Serena is #8 in the world yet she gets more favorable press attention than any other female tennis player. It pays to be a great black hope.

Serena had cramps in her calf in her previous match with Hantachuva that tennis announcers are still orgasming over. How is cramps an injury? Every athlete gets cramps. Most don't come back with an ace bandage for sympathy. After losing a point she barely appeared able to walk and then sprints and bounces on the next point. Magical! Michael Stitch had it right - "overreacting."

Now the steroid queen of tennis comes out with a bit of tape on her "off hand." That's the new official excuse for losing to Henin. Her left thumb hurt.

Sharapova on the other hand used no excuses in her lose to Venus. This despite fighting a shoulder injury (a real injury) for which she had taken cortizone months shots before but is refusing to do so now. I never heard the ESPN tennis talking heads give Sharapova any excuse like they did to Serena. In Sharapova's short match with Venus she had 6 double faults and 21 unforced errors - yet Venus was just unstopable. Give me a freaking break.

Funny how Serena had to take a piss break during Hantachuva's serve, but when denied until her own service game she magically lost the urge. Edited by: Kaptain Poop
