Good for him, glad to see he has solidified his grasp on the ILB job. I guess he brought his hard hat and lunch pail to work every day.

Gruden has done some pretty commendable things this year as head coach.

Compton's a tackling machine and that's what it will be attributed to, not his athleticism. Same as it always is with Paul Worrilow, and even the great Paul Posluszny, though Poz is finally, at age 31 and in his ninth season, gaining some respect for his talent.

Will gets a long overdue official promotion to starting Mike LB. Gruden has some complimentary things to say about him on the video at the link below.

The defensive side of the ball is where you’ll notice a few tweaks to this week’s unofficial depth chart.

-- At the “Mikeâ€￾ linebacker position, Will Compton moves up to the starter spot, ahead of Keenan Robinson. Compton has played some tough-nosed defense in the heart of the Redskins’ defense the past few weeks as a replacement for Robinson, who has been battling a shoulder injury. In all, Compton is second on the team with 78 tackles, and he also has two pass deflections and one fumble recovery on the year.

He's done a hell of a job since taking over! He has has 75 tackles on the year and only 6 starts! On pace for 100. Promising young backer.

Good article on "Coach Comp" from the Washington Times:

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/dec/17/will-compton-redskins-starting-role-in-the-details/

"We joke around and call him 'Coach Comp' sometimes because he breaks down all the film himself," outside linebacker Trent Murphy said. "He takes what the coaches take, and then he takes his own stuff too and breaks down every play, gets the run-pass tendencies, knows what they’re going to run, when they’re going to run it. It’s a huge advantage. It help everyone else play with confidence."

Looks like Compton has solidified himself as a starter and will be the defensive signal caller this season. That's 3 pale face starters on D along with Kerrigan & Murphy. Unfortunately, that only 1 more than the offense.
