i think all of us are aware of how truly dominant the white tight ends are this year. but here are a couple of articles that highlight two of our guys, and their chances in the NFL:

Zach Miller from Arizona State, and Iowa's Scott Chandler

a couple of excerpts:

ESPN's Mel Kiper rates Miller as the second best NFL junior tight end prospect behind Miami's Greg Olsen. Where that would put him in the 2007 draft, with seniors such as Minnesota's Matt Spaeth and Oregon State's Joe Newton, will be part of the information reconnaissance for the Miller family.

those are all white tight ends! awesome!

Yea this years draft looks to replenish the stock of white te's in the NFL. Rutgers Clark Harris is another one to look for.

Someone actually compared a white college player to a black star NFL player! Is the world coming to an end?

i think we will see more and more great white tight ends (see recent years: Shockey, Heap, Miller, Fasano, Daniels and many others) who are hard workers, great blockers and have a combination of size and hands...
why will we have more? because for whites that don't want to play defense and are steered away from runningback and wide receiver position, tight end is the only place to be, if they want to be a skill players on offense...

that's an exellent point backrow! white guys with size and speed basically have two options in the caste system: linebacker or tight end. if they ever want to touch the ball, with only very rare exceptions tight end is about the only place it can happen.

Yep, you are both right. I hope we can add to this trend more white O-linemen and QBs, otherwise we haven't gained a lot as far as numbers go. It will be great to have more skill players on the field though, even if there are less "non-skilled" players.

Draft Daddy has a profile up on Maryland tight end Joey Haynos. he's another in the long line of white walk-ons who become dominant players.

Colonel Reb, i'd hate to see us come up short at any position. it shouldn't be mutually exclusive that you can only have white guys at certain spots, or a certain number of 'em on the field at a time. i don't think any of us ever take credit away from a deserving black player, so all we're asking for in return is credit where it is due to the white guys.

why is that so hard for so many folks to understand?

I know what you mean. The trends though, are for more black O-linemen, again thanks to the Caste System. Because of this, we might have mostly white TEs but much blacker lines. If things were all equal, and playing time was based on who earned the spot, there would be a lot more whites on the field. The problem with this is we are dealing with a system that has a bias against whites. Thus, we may gain in one area, but the Caste bosses wont let the overall makeup of the team change, therefore getting more black o-linemen or getting more blacks at some other position.

you know, since collegiate and pro sports are all about the dollars. and dollars increase with spectacle and rivalry, you would think that eventually some GM would try to make a white team just for the attention it would receive.

boxing, since time began, has used race to inspire fans to spend their hard-earned money. watching a white dude square off against a black guy makes for great spectacle, and thus entertainment, which turns into large amoounts of cash. why not football? it would be relatively easy, i would think, to recruit the top white players around the country at the skill positions (all you'd have to do is tell 'em you'd give 'em a fair shot!) and put a viable team on the field.

this would make LOTS of money, so why hasn't it been done?

Because there is an agenda to make white men feel inferior. Boxing has no control over the Russians who now dominate it. There can only be so much done to keep a fighter off the stage. Football has so many more opportunities for holding white players back. First, there is the myth that whites have to go against, from Junior High on up, this affects nearly all the coaches. Then the recruiters and media from high school and college on up. Its just a stacked system that is against white players making it.

you are absolutley right, Colonel. but the stupidity of humanity never ceases to amaze me. how can so many people disregard the overwhelming abundance of FACTUAL EVIDENCE that exists, and continue pretending that real problems in the real world don't exist? or that even acknowledging those problems makes one become part of the problem?

too true! but with no media/former players' support, it is hard to make eveybody realize what's been going on...

It would be impossible to get a large share of the best white players into one college program. You've got to remember, most white players go to college to get an education, which is smart since no matter who you are there's only a tiny chance that you'll be able to make a career out of football.

Most of the leftist major universities would never let their coach field a mostly white team. The Utah teams are the only exception, and going to a school like BYU with strict codes of conduct is unpalatable to most white players from other regions of the country.

whatever happened to the basketball player out of UCONN, Jim Nelson i think his name was, who gave the NFL a shot at tight end?

it seems the League likes athletic hoopers that are physical, ie. Tony Gonzalez, Antonio Gates, etc.

interesting... Nelson was a better basketball player than Gonzalez, but not as good as Gates. so one could easily place his talent level on par with both, but it seems that is where the comparisons will end. the experiment, it seems, doesn't work with the pale-skinned.

Tony Gonzalez, 6'5", 251-pounds; Played in 82 basketball games at Cal, starting in 16. Averaged 6.4 points and 4.3 rebounds as a rugged interior scrapper. His true talents were on the gridiron, where he was named All-America honors. The 13th overall selection in the '97 NFL draft after his junior year. Among the NFL's elite tight ends.

Ed Nelson, 6'8", 260-pounds; Was the 2001-02 ACC Rookie of the Year at Georgia Tech, and after transferring was the strongest player on UConn's basketball team. Was a role player on an incredibly talented UConn basketball team, averaging 3 points and 3 rebounds per game.

sadly, i couldn't find a football photo...

It would seem that his early disappearance is a mystery...

The Giants did a training camp experiment with black basketball player Jai Lewis this year as well. Both Lewis and Nelson were cut right away. Who cares? That's one hell of a transition to make from college basketball player to NFL football. Antonio Gates was a fluke. The copycat nature of the NFL makes me want to puke. I'd rather see some kid who actually played football in college get picked up. Maybe instead of sending football scouts to basketball games they should take a closer look at the huge white talent pool in D1AA.Edited by: jared

it's interesting because flukes are apparently always black players. that's the deal. the exceptions are always wrapped in a dark package. somehow white guys who have the same kind of potential are repeatedly and non-chalantly tossed aside. THAT is a big problem.
