What is Houston doing? The end getting closer for 'analytics guru' Morey?

They look to be firmly headed into stagnation. Kevin McHale already became a fall guy for the James Harden/Dwight Howard experiment, plus having to deal with a less-talented roster the last couple seasons.

Eric Gordon and Ryan Anderson have notable injury histories and neither add toughness to the Rockets, something they sorely need. Anderson has played 70+ games once, just once, in his 8 year career. Gordon hasn't played more than 64 games in a season since his rookie year, and played just 45 games last season. Eric Gordon has been a one-and-done (out of Indiana) hype-job from the beginning, where he shot 33.7% from 3 and was terrified to grab rebounds. Analyze that! At every turn, the Caste-media sickeningly coddled him.

As Daryl Morey keeps getting fatter, he strikes me as really having become full-of-himself, unjustly so, as he reverts to the status quo of zero-accountability contracts. Mirza Teletovic (MIL), Jon Leuer (DET) and others, would have been better options for their up-tempo system.

New coach Mike D'Antoni really has his work cut out! Houston is a large market with real expectations, greater than being a 7th or 8th seed and then proceed to get bounced early.

Golden State jacks up 3 pointers like nobody's business but it looks like Houston will challenge them in that department. Isn't that Morey's strategy? 3 points are more valuable than 2 pointers so shoot as many of them as possible?

On the plus side, Ryan Anderson will have the opportunity to put up the best numbers of his career in this offense. I'd just like to see Sam Dekker get in on the action as well.

Yes, Morey and D'Antoni have very much the same philosophy/strategy of 3s, up-tempo and more possessions.

Sadly, Anderson's 3-point-shooting has gotten worse.

Rockets just traded for Chris Paul. Clippers received Sam Dekker and Patrick Beverly. Houston is trying to stay relevant in the West.

No idea they're both ballhogs, Harden more so. Paul was 1st team all NBA this year and Harden led league in assists .So they're talented but they get enough MSM coverage as is. There will be a crashing of egos. Rockets still have McDermott and Anderson as role players. But they're another team looking to build a "big three ", hoping to draw another big free agent.

More excited to see Dekker in LA. He should thrive in a new setting with increased minutes. He was hurt his rookie season and only averaged 6ppg and 18min of action last year. He did show some promise. Career high of 30pts in one of his two career starts. Plus Clippers are depleted. Paul is gone and looks like JJ is headed east.

These ridiculous contracts and the stacking of a few teams with players will hopefully kill the NBA.
