Looking through the Robinson article, the only thing that really caught my eye was his bit on the Bengals in the "winners" section, where he writes: "With Larry Johnson(notes) looking fresh after sitting much of the last month and Bernard Scott(notes) continuing to show good burst, it looks like the Bengals could have three quality running backs down the stretch. That's if Cedric Benson(notes) can come back healthy after sitting out his second straight game with a hip injury. One thing the offense misses is Benson's nose for the goal line in the red zone. But with Detroit on the docket next week, he's got at least one more game to get healthy before his return becomes more vital."
Three quality running backs, Johnson, Scott, and Benson. Brian Leonard who??

Yes, Kruger's interception was wonderfully athletic- too bad the odious Andrea Kremer had to ruin it by stating, as she drooled over affletic marvels Ray Rice and "Killer" Ray Lewis in a postgame interview, "with all the stars you have on defense, it was PAUL KRUGER who made that play?" Message received by DWFs, Andrea.

I started to post about the condescending behavior by Kraemer. I was offended by it. I can imagine how Kruger's family felt if they saw the unconscionable interview.

I saw the first hallf of the Redskins - Eagles dunk and dinkathon. I don't think Campbell threw a pass longer than 12 yards. Very boring offense. I then flipped the channel and watched the halftime show on another network.

Couldn't help but laugh. One of the crew said, "Campbell's having a nice game"

Yeah, real nice game. At the half he had 1 TD, 2 INT's and 97 yards in the air. Wow!! It's getting comical.

Campbell was also praised for hisplay on the NFL Network. "See what a good quarterback he is when he gets protection," drooled Deion Sanders as "Mooch" bobbed his head up and down in agreement.

Washington reached 20 points for just the second time all season yesterday. Only the awful offenses of the Raiders, Browns and Rams have scored fewer points on the season.

Good for Chris. I have a lasting image of Brian Billick ripping into him during a game much the same way as when Mike Holmgren physically accosted Bill Schroeder on the sidelines.

No White QB had a chance in Baltimore during the regime of the "offensive genius" Billick. His teams and Jim Haslet's Saints used to fight it out each year for the "honor" of being the league's blackest team.
Brett Favre had to have every bit ofhis Iron Man toughness to survive Holmgren and eventually thrive. Without Favre Holmgren would have been an average coach at best, though I have no sympathy for the Caste clown Mora who is trying to clean up the mess Mikey left behind.

We've just had the following sequence -- Patriots score, commercial break; subsequent kickoff, commercial break; the next play Brady is intercepted, commercial break; one play by the Saints, end of quarter commercial break; very next play someone is injured, commercial break. I once read that in television, the commercials are what is important, not the program. The football game is just something to get you to turn on the TV. The commercials influencing the viewer to buy the products are why television programming exists.

Commercials sure have become more prominent and time consuming as compared to the 50s and 60s. Old shows usually had just a couple of commercial breaks that were short compared to today. The programs were longer as a result.

The Saints coordinator seems to really like Charleston and has been putting him in on more snaps as the season goes along. Hopefully Reis will see a little bit more playing time tonight, he has been playing quite a bit.

About Edelman not playing, Ive noticed a trend among most teams when it comes to playing games that are more likely to be watched by a national audience, teams tend to feature White players less, the game plan usually features affletes in a bigger role.

I first noticed this with Blair White when Mich St was on ESPN, they stopped using Blair White like they usually do, they had him running a few 5 yard routes and that is pretty much it. Even Saturday night with Stanford a majority White team, the backup black runningback received 12 carries, the the most he has seen the entire season, (it would be kind of hard not to use the White players for Stanford)

I only picked up about ten minutes of the game. So far, Boomer is saying NO is having their way with NE. Brees is smoking the secondary, Baady is not playing real well, and Welker is being mugged.

And he was going off on Randy Moss. Says he is missing in action and quitting on plays. Boomer mentioned three in particular which hurt the Patriots.

That's what happened last season too, they acquired Charleston mid-season and he was doing quite well with increased playing time, then he started this season all but invisible again.

The Vince Young "magical" comeback has WWE written all over it. How can anyone believe this guy -who up until this point had been only slightly less unimpressive as a passer than Jamarcus- is now the hottest QB in the league?

The media might want you to believe that Young is the "hottest QB" in the league, but how can that be when the Saints, not to mention the Colts, are undefeated? Not to mention Brett Favre's incredible season? Drew Brees has 3 TD passes already tonight!

Also, I would really like to know how Vince Young has OWNED us? How many of "US" were on the coal black Cardinals' defense? Cheer up!!

Yep, he matched the starting defensive end's sack total in limited playing time last season. Now a new coordinator came in and its like he has had to start from scratch again and reprove himself. A little ridiculous when the new coordinator said "no starter's job is safe" and Charleston had a great camp.

They have been playing dirty against Welker the entire game, I guess its the only way they can slow him down. You can tell by Welker's face that he is pissed. He will get one huge play before this game is over (besides the big return)Edited by: dwid

It's official - Vince Young &gt; Drew Brees


EDIT: Drew Brees has an NFL-leading 27 TD passes (195 career). It seems like CF is getting more members, and for that to continue, we mustn't sound insecure or distort the fact that White QB's absolutely dominate. If people think CF is a self-loathing site, they won't want to sign up.

I certainly wasn't suggesting that I agree with the media lovefest for Young. On the contrary, that's why I can't accept his or his team's sudden success, which has resulted in an astounding turn of fortunes. The media's obsession with him is all too real, and bound to become even more sickening with every Titans' win. Watch the game with the Colts coming up this week- I certainly hope I'm wrong, but I suspect that VY is going to pull the huge upset, and yes, it will be portrayed that way by the jock-sniffers- VY besting Peyton Manning.

The Patriots effort against the Saints tonight was pathetic. What kind of "genius" head coach passes on every down when his team is leading by 35 points (as Belicheck has done repeatedly the past few years), but runs every other play when his team is down by 3 TDs (as in tonight's game)? Also, how could the Saints bring enough pressure on seemingly every pass play to cause Brady to misfire, while at the same time their DBs were allegedly blanketing all his receivers? On one particular play, the Patriots called a fake reverse to Welker, which fooled the Saints and allowed Brady plenty of time to look deep for Moss. In Earl Morrall-like fashion (some of you will recognize the Super Bowl III reference), Brady somehow didn't see Moss wide open, waving his arms in vain, and instead threw a short pass to Welker for a marginal gain. Funny, the jock sniffers in the booth explained that the play was designed for only one receiver, but neglected to note that Brady obviously was looking deep at Moss (who they had acknowledged was the lone receiver), yet somehow didn't see him? How do you look downfield at a wide open player, and not throw the ball? Those are the kinds of plays that have, over the course of several decades, convinced me that these games are fixed. Don't rag on me for insinuating Brady is dishonest- imho, he's part of a thoroughly corrupt organization. He is paid very well to perform his job. I'd like to hear an innocent explanation from someone for what happened on that play.

I did hear some of the things that were said after the Cardinals' game had concluded. They came right out and said, "Vince Young has arrived. Vince Young has entered football immortality."

However, I agree with Don "that it's premature to claim that." Don, I hope I'm not taking your post out of context when you were talking about Kordell Stewart and the issue of consistency.

I started the Philip Rivers thread (in the Chargers' forum last year), and he hasn't disappointed me.

I talked-up Drew Brees a lot this year and I even wrote an article about him, and he hasn't disappointed me. These 2 men throw a bunch of TDs. I think Vince Young still has 30 (or less) passing TDs.

That is significant because Rivers' wasn't always a starter and he has 97 passing TDs now. I recall hearing that he'll be one of the fastest QBs to reach 100 TDs. The talking-heads were saying that he just scores, he just puts points on the board.


P.S. - I like David Stewart and Michael Roos so I couldn't really be saddened by ultra-sumo Arizona losing.

Of course, it's easy to notice that the Patriots defense has been getting worse the blacker they get. Ted Bruschi retires, replaced by a black, Vrabel traded to the Chiefs, replaced by a black, etc. Now the coal-black Patriots defense has all of these soopa affletes and are starting to give up points by the bushel.
