Yeah, I heard the trade analzyed on ESPN sports radio, and Tommy
Heinsohn, as well as the predictable (but forgetable) jock-sniffing
host, both kept referring to how much Wally likes to shoot. Isn't it
amazing when some white guy, who as was pointed out CAN actually shoot
well, takes any good number of shots, they are a "ball hog?" Meanwhile,
the super-ball hogs like Alan Iverson, Tracy McGrady, Kobe, etc., are
never referred to in this way at all. In fact, if they aren't gettting
their 30+ shots per game, then the announcers start complaining about
"getting them the ball!" As in all instances with sports these days,
the double standard is obvious. In a just sports world, Wally would be
the top scorer, or at least a top 5 scorer, every year, since he has
one of the best, if not the best, shot in the league.
