Vitali Klitschko Scraps June Date, Will Fight Tomasz Adamek on September10

Vitali Klitschko has decided against taking a fight on June 4, as had
been previously rumored, and will instead wait until September 10 to
fight next, when he'll face Tomasz Adamek, likely in Poland.

Klitschko (42-2, 39 KO) is coming off of an easy night at the office
with his TKO-1 defeat of Odlanier Solis on March 19, when Solis went
down on a glancing blow, injured himself on the fall, and had the fight
waved off. Adamek (44-1, 28 KO) beat Kevin McBride this past Saturday
night in Newark, billed as a final tune-up for Klitschko.http://www.badlefthook.com/2011/4/12/2105656/vitali-klitschko-scraps-june-date-will-fight-tomasz-adamek-on

Vitali and Adamek are set to fight September 10th and it should be a
good one. I see Vitali stopping Adamek late but unlike most KlitschkO
opponents I think Adamek can and will win a few rounds. And unlike that coward Haye, I fully expect Adamek to get in the ring with Vitali.

Cant wait for the fight, but I must say I wish Adamek would have stayed in the Cruiserweight division and dominated.

Ok, If Vitali beats Adamek most likely he'll retire. Now who will be fighting for his vacant title?
The last WBC rankingI've seen had Ray Austinat#1, Solis #2, Boytsov #3 and Arreola #4.
Solis won over Austin and Vitali ko'd Solis. Will Boytsov be fighting Arreolafor Vitali's title if hequits after September? Or willit be arematch between Austin and Solis?

Is the Rain Man the illegitimate son of Sulaiman? I don't get how this guy has a rating near the top of the division. He has twice been blown out in a title fight and an eliminator. Let's hope this recycled AMC Gremlin doesn't get another title fight.

Austin is back with Don King. That explains it.

He's currently scheduled to fight Kubrat Pulev on May 7 on the Nielson-Holyfield card in Denmark, but I heard from an inside source that Austin is going to back out of that fight.

It really dosen't matterwith Austin, because he's not a legitimate danger for any top white fighter at this point.

The one thing I would love to see is Waldimir go back totheir old trainer when Viali's gone.
As I've seen Steward has done nothing for any fighter.
He's good only at getting his hooks into an already proven champion like Lewis or Waldimir and altering them into a "Safety first/hold on to the title" style of boxer.Edited by: lost

I totally disagree. He was the reason why Lewis was dominant post McCall less the Rahman debacle. He is also the reason why Wlad hasn't come close to losing since he beat Byrd again. Nobody has been able to touch Wlad. If you can't touch him you can't find his his shaky chin. As for Austin he is robbing a potential legitimate challenger of a title fight or an eliminator. Obviously the "Rain Man" might only be a threat to himself these days.....

So Cal
lost, in the words of John Mcnroe "you can not be serious!" Steward is an elite trainer and knows that the great fighters are Europeans. As WIR states he a major reason why Wlad has not lost in the last 6 years or so.

Now, it looks like Steward has another diamond in Andy Lee and has rescued Miguel Cotto's career. Also, he is one of the fairest when calling big fights. I have no problem with him whatsoever.

Waldimir lost one fight with Fritz Sdunek and two with Steward. And hewas also a world champion before Steward. So what has Manny done for him?

In Wald's loss too Puritty, he really just gassed anyway. But I have never seenSteward take a "Non-Elite" fighter and make one of him.
Johnathon Banks has been under Steward his entire career, And the last time I saw Banks, he looked terrible......Edited by: lost

Was Steward Klitschko's trainer in 2003 and 2004 when he lost to Lamon Brewster and Corrie Sanders? I thought he became his trainer in like 2006 or 2007, though I could be wrong. THe Purrity fight was in the late 90's so he defintely didn't have Steward as his trainer then.

As I recall Steward started working with Waldimir just before the MCcline fight. But I may be wrong.
<div></div>I do know he was with Wald for the Brewster fight...

I checked Wikipedia and it's not very clear when Steward actually starting training him but it looks like 2004, right before the Brewster fight. In this case it looks like Steward wasn't his trainer for the Sanders fight. That would give Wladimir one loss under Steward.

Stewart started working with Wlad just before Brewster I. The reason why Wlad has never been touched since Byrd II is because he was taught a more balanced approach to boxing. Before Wlad used to be an all action fighter who looked to hunt down opponents. Steward taught him to let the opponents come to him and to pick them off with jabs and counter rights and hooks. He did the same thing with Lewis. Also the reason why you haven't seen Steward turn Johnathan Banks into Wlad or Lewis is the same reason why Bob Baffert can't turn a 10K claiming horse into a Breeders Cup Classic winner you need talent to work with to mold the talent into a world class athlete.

This is correct. I burned all of Wlad's fights onto DVD several years ago. Ironically, "Brewster I"Â￾ is indeed Wlad's first fight under Stewart.

Since that loss, Wlad's only tense moments under Stewart's tutelage was during the "Peter I"Â￾ fight.Edited by: Thrashen
