I think the only difference between this version of Vitali and the 99' to 04' version is that he isn't as explosive. I don't think Briggs would have been staggering around until the final bell back in that time period. You might be right about PED usage helping Briggs. His skull could be thicker from HGH usage. Also what a brave corner Briggs had sending him out there for the last few rounds. Briggs who is usually quite humble in defeat or even winning might not know who he is after that frightful beating...

PED helps a fighter take punch's better
because it will make their neck bigger, so their head don't get that "whip"
after being hit, that's what hurts most figters....imo!

Great stream, thanks Parody! Anyone paranoid about installing that unknown software to view the fight? I hate that.

I installed it on my laptop and uninstalled it after the fight. A little later my laptop was no longer connected to the internet and my usual network had been replaced by an "unidentified network"which I can't get rid of. I also noticed that my antivirus software is now gone.It's probablya coincidence, but who knows?

The Compubox numbers were a complete washout. Vitali landed more than four times as many punches as the slow, plodding Briggs. The fight went exactly as I predicted: Briggs was basically a Sam Peter clone who lacks speed and is a sitting duck in the ring. He's not elusive like Kevin Johnson, whose speed allowed him to avoid some of Vitali's big punches though Johnson had no offense whatsoever.

the intensive care unit at the University Hospital Eppendorf in Hamburg.
Briggs suffered fractures below both eyes as well as a concussion,
after taking dozens of hard shots from WBC heavyweight champion Vitali
Klitschko on Saturday night, but is responsive according to RTL. Briggs
was rushed to the hospital after the fight after doctors observed
symptoms associated with neurological disturbances and drowsiness.

I had a bad feeling when I heard the referee Ian John-Lewis was working the fight.

He worked the Wlodarczyk-Fragomeni I fight and kept yelling at Wlodarczyk every time he started to hurt Fragomeni, and he didn't count a knockdown which would have given Wlodarczyk the win.

Ironically, he has a reputation for stopping fights in the UK too EARLY in favor of the home boxer.

Briggs corner should have threw the towel in during the 9th or 10th round. At that point he was taking a tremendous beating and was defenseless. What was the point in allowing the fight to continue? Obviously he had no chance of winning.

This was inevitable. The beating Briggs took is analogous to being in multiple, mini, head-on collisions. No amount of PED's or HGH can protect facial/cranial structures or brain matter.Again, his going the distance with the champion was impressive, however, it may have cost him irrevocable damage. All pre-fight bravado and trash talk by Briggs aside, this is sad to hear.

Naturally it's great that Vitali won, but it's terrible that Briggs is in the hospital.

Of course, as in almost every competition between Whites and Blacks, I prefer the White to win, but I don't ever want to see the other guy get hurt like that. If he's got a family or kids, this must be an awful time for them.

Here's hoping Briggs pulls through with his health intact, and learns a healthy respect for his competition, White or Black.

Having said all that, I'm sure the media, the DWFs, and the feminist world in general would have creamed their collective panties with glee had the glove been on the other hand, and it had been Vitali Klitschko going Flowers for Algernon on us all.

I'm watching a video of the ESPN version of Briggs-Vitali.

What a difference a commentator makes! They have BJ Flores doing the color commentary and he does an excellent job.

It's impossible to fully enjoy a Klitschko fight while listening to the destestable Teddy Atlas with his anti-white agenda and insane rants, but the fair and balanced commentary from Flores is a refreshing change.

By Dave Lahr: Former World Boxing Organization (WBO) heavyweight champion Shannon Briggs (51-6-1, 45 KO's) put in a valiant effort last Saturday night against WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko (41-2, 38 KO's), losing by a 12 round decision after badly tearing up his left biceps at the O2 World Arena, in Hamburg, Germany. Fighting with only his right arm for much of the fight, Briggs was unable to use his main weapon â€" his left hook â€" take out the tall Ukrainian. It was almost as if Briggs was fighting with a crippling injury, because it left him with no back-up plan.

Some fighters are just as deadly with both hands, but Briggs has always been a big puncher with his left for some reason. For those boxing fans who wonder why Briggs looked so bad, they need to consider the horrible injury that Briggs sustained to his left biceps before they make judgments about him. Fighting with a painful biceps tear is one of the most debilitating injuries you can have.

I once pulled one of my biceps while lifting weights and believe me, it hurt and I can't imagine fighting with a complete tear of my biceps like Briggs. No wonder he wasn't able to get his punches off. Had he been able to fight with two good arms, I have no doubts that he would have made mincemeat of Vitali's face and torn up his tender skin around his eyes. That skin was just begging to be torn up by Briggs, but having a biceps tear is like having a flat tire on race day. You're not going to be beating anyone with a biceps tear, believe me. But at least Briggs didn't quit. What did Vitali do when he tore up his shoulder in his fight with Chris Byrd in 2000?

If my memory serves me, Vitali quit on his stool after the 9th round. He didn't stick it out like Briggs and fight to the bitter end. Instead, Vitali took the soft way out by having the fight stopped in between rounds after getting hit with a few slapping punches by Byrd in the 9th. Vitali had a huge lead in the fight and all he had to do was fight three more rounds and he would have won the fight. But what did he do? He quit. So, I'm very proud of how Briggs stood up and fought with a bad injury and didn't let it get him down and cause him to quit.

I watched the fight replay on espn this afternoon, briggs took a bad beating the second half of the fight. The commentary was excellent, thank goodness atlas wasnt doing it. Vitali is one the greatest fighters of all time, he fights like the guys did almost 100 years ago,shows you how effective they would be today,fighters like jess willard and gene tunney.

Briggs' corner should have thrown in the towel. The doctor should have been examining and questioning Briggs. The referee should have stopped the fight.

He should have added that Vitali has dominated boxing for over a decade after wisely stopping the Byrd fight to prevent permanent damage to his torn shoulder while Briggs is now in the ICU in critical condition. I'm sure Brigg's family will rest easy knowing they have this jewish supremacists respect for their loved one...

How can any decent human being brag about a fighters heart while he's in CC and may die because of it? The fight should have been stopped 3-4 rounds before the 12th and Briggs would be fine right now just as Vitali was fine after "quitting" against Byrd and having his shoulder repaired.
