USA Men's 23 Players Under New Coach Bruce Arena

Bruce Arena has returned as head coach of the US national team. He checks a number of boxes simply for being "not an archetype multiculturalist cuckolding shill" like his predecessor Jurgen Klinsmann. Arena was a champion college coach at Virginia at the beginning of his career and most recently had been presiding over a very successful and generally white-friendly LA Galaxy club team. He is a "safe" hire and probably owns the best resume of any realistic candidate.

Last night, the USA "righted the ship" by pasting Honduras 6-0 in a World Cup qualifier. All six goals were scored by white players. However, Arena opted for a starting lineup with five whites, two Mexicans, and four blacks (two mulattos, an African, and a Haitian). Three white substitutes made appearances, and the bench consisted of two blacks, nine whites, and a Tiger Woods.

As far as the "entrenched" players go, Dempsey, Bradley, Cameron, and Pulisic seem to be steady starters. Altidore, Brooks, and Howard also appear to enjoy that status. I appreciate Arena being willing to mix up the team around his core. Let's hope future lineups trend more toward eight white starters than the five we just saw.

Just want to point out the next qualifying match is not on FS1 Tuesday night. Instead it will be on the beIN network at 9:50 EST. beIN is a cable station available on most cable companies. A growing station they focus on international soccer and women's tennis among other stuff. It is a chance to set eyes on the next international sensation Pulisic. Too bad speedy Jordan Morris is recovering from a minor injury.

Thanks for the breakdown, Phall! It was great seeing all of the white attackers for the USA. I'm hoping Lletget recovers as well - one of Honduras's clumsy players injured him with a bad slide just minutes after he scored his goal. Lletget could be a huge part of the team moving forward. The defenders are a bit of a concern, but I love the fact that 9/11 of the midfielders and forwards are white.

To replace Lletget, Arena called up midfielder Paul Arriola. According to Wikipedia, his great grandparents immigrated from Mexico. As you can see however, his family appears to be European. I don't even think the phrase "white Hispanic" applies to Arriola.

The US team started just four whites in tonight's friendly against Venezuela. At the onset of the second half, they were temporarily down to three white players on the pitch. This is especially frustrating because the 23-man roster has the personnel to field an all-white eleven. Since this is an exhibition, there should be some extra substitutions to "amend" the ratio.

Pulisic just created a nice-looking goal for himself.

To further the global agenda of alienating and emasculating white heterosexual men, the USSF has outfitted the national team with pro-sodomy jerseys to 'raise awareness' of men who have anal sex with other men (as well as awareness for men who have vaginas, women who have penises, etc).

So soccer really is gay. North Americans have been saying that for decades but now it is supposed to be a good thing.

The thing is nowhere in the soccer world will this gaydom be more acceptable to the fans than in North America (and maybe Australia/NZ). I do like that the United States is giving a lot of white players chances, even if the starting XI doesn't always show it. A lot of new guys, and also guys who've played for the previously getting back in the fold. I know Lichaj started the last game. They also have guys like Jordan Morris (whom Heretic mentioned), Paul Arriola, Chris Pontius, Kelyn Rowe, Matt Miazga, Dax McCarty, etc. Hopefully some of these guys will stick. Matt Besler has also been playing again.

A side note, it's amazing a guy like Gyasi Zardes still suits up for the national team. Sure, he's fast, but he can't do much else, and often gives the ball away.

Can't forget about Christian Pulisic, either. Would be great to see both him and Jordan Morris on the pitch at the same time.

You are correct, as one of the striker spots will undoubtedly go to Altidore or Wood. I think Guzan is back down to 2nd team; Howard had previously retired, and is now playing again. Brooks is also anointed as one of the starting CBs, so that's two blacks players who'll automatically be starting come WC time.

What an absolute failure for "Team USA" who started a meager 5 whites against Trinidad and Tobago and lost 2-1, knocking them out of the World Cup. Arena started off good early in his tenure, and then resorted to Klinsmann form, making his teams darker and darker. I feel bad for guys like Pulisic, but overall, the USA manages to one-up Australia and not even make it to a play-off out of a bad region. If the USA can't qualify directly out of their sh** region, then they don't deserve to go. I hope Gulati is fired with Arena.

Just the other day, Arena said something to the tune of "Have a hotshot European team try to qualify in CONCACAFF." I'm sure teams like Germany or Poland or Croatia, or even Northern Ireland would be shaking having to play Trinidad and Tobago. A middling team in Europe like Wales would qualify every World Cup.

Good riddance! I do have a question for anyone who may have more info on this, but how the hell did an Indian vermin by the name of Sunil Gulati become the head of US Soccer? What are his qualifications? Heck, as far as I know, other than cricket, India is not known as a sporting nation of any kind whatsoever. It would be one thing if a British or German was running the federation, but all I know of this Gulati scum is that his primary objective has been to diversify the sport and get those "inner city kids" interested in soccer.

This embarrassment of missing the 2018 WC should be more than enough to can this bum, along with Arena and start over.

The US only started 4 white players, not 5. Pulisic and Cameron are the only good players on this team. Bradley is awful now. The rest of the team are mestizo and blacks. The US is even starting an African midfielder in Nagbe

GK TIM HOWARD, 3: There wasn't much he could do about the opening own goal, but he was caught flat-footed on Alvin Jones' wonder-goal and badly spilled another long-range effort.

D DEANDRE YEDLIN, 6: Created flashes of danger with his energy down the flank and did well to limit opportunities on his side.

D OMAR GONZALEZ, 2: His misplayed clearance resulted in a stunning own goal to put T&T on the board, and he was lucky not to be called for a penalty moments later. The decision to bench Geoff Cameron looms large.

D MATT BESLER, 5: Had a couple iffy moments and didn't offer much in distribution, but he managed to avoid any major miscues in the back.

D JORGE VILLAFANA, 3: Was seemingly targeted by T&T, struggling to defend one-on-one, and never got going in the attack.

M PAUL ARRIOLA, 3: Didn't find much of the ball during that sluggish first 45 minutes before exiting at halftime.

M MICHAEL BRADLEY, 4: Was limited in his ability to dictate the tempo on such a choppy field and didn't play with his usual defensive intensity.

M DARLINGTON NAGBE, 4: Didn't move the ball quickly enough in the first half, though he did bring some added urgency after halftime.

M CHRISTIAN PULISIC, 6: Drifted in and out of the game but created some half-chances in an otherwise dismal first half and brought the U.S. back into the game with a 47th-minute strike. A missed opportunity for the 19-year-old to star on the World Cup stage is heartbreaking.

F JOZY ALTIDORE, 3: Failed to capitalize on the opportunities that fell his way and lacked his usual sharpness in hold-up play.

F BOBBY WOOD, 4: Didn't bring much to the table up top, struggling to get on the ball or execute combination play. Did threaten with a late header that was denied by a stellar save.

Thanks for the correction, MilanClass (Good to see you back on the forum!). When I was looking at the pictures, I must've counted wrong. Good analysis as well of the players. Watching Arena, Omar Gonzalez, and Josy Altidore's interviews, it was quite obvious that none of them actually cared about getting to the World Cup. I did not sense any emotion in their voices whatsoever.

The fact that Arena started the same lineup for this game boggles my mind. This lineup is also filled with has-beens and waaay past their prime players. The United States needed a freaking draw against a team that had lost 8 straight and couldn't get it done. Even DWFs were ragging on players like Altidore and Gonzalez today. They even said the USA should've started Cameron, McCarty, and Feilhaber for this match. Instead, they go with a tired lineup of like I said, has-beens and veterans who shouldn't be started anymore. The result? Christian Pulisic and Clint Dempsey looked like the only two players who actually cared about this match. I feel bad for both of them, but they were let down by their atrocious teammates.

I was reading a post today on Facebook that basically called U.S. soccer racist. You know, those soft suburban white kids who make up nearly all of the national team (sarcasm) are the only ones who get opportunities? Oh wait, the team has a TON of blacks and Latinos on the team, with many more coming up through the youth system. Guess it wasn't those "soft" white guys that ruined the team after-all. How about those high upside minorities who couldn't give a sh** about representing the United States? Maybe it was them?

Former national team player Taylor Twellman hit on the fact that the United States hasn't made the Olympics in men's soccer since 2008. Who were the majorities on those teams that couldn't manage to qualify in piss-weak CONCACAF? It couldn't have been those high upside minority footballers DWFs and those powers-that-be in the USSF say we need more of could it? Oh wait, it was. A lot of those blacks and Latinos from those failed qualifying teams are nowhere to be found any more, and those that are still on the team suck to the point where the United States is relying on 19-year old Christian Pulisic (who's far and away the best and most talented player on the team) and past-their-prime veterans like 38 year old Tim Howard, 34 year old Clint Dempsey, a 30-year old Michael Bradley who's been wrecked by injuries. Now Pulisic is already a superstar, but still, why is the core of the team guys who for any good national side would've been relegated to bench duty this cycle? There are simply no good "in-their prime" players playing for the United States right now.

The fact that older guys like DaMarcus Beasley, GKs Brad Guzan and Nick Rimando, Chris Wondolowski are on the team on top of crap players like Omar Gonzalez, Darlington Nagbe, Jorge Villafana, and Jozy Altidore just shows the sorry state United States soccer is in. Nobody on this team over 30 should be back after this. Fire Bruce Arena and Sunil Gulate. Get the young guys like Morris, Miazga, Aron Johannesson (who must really be hating his decision to represent the USA over Iceland) and Sebastian Lletget (who was inexplicably not called back up for this cycle) into the team at once. Dump useless players like Omar Gonzalez and Josey Altidore, and go young, with a few vets like Cameron, Wood, Besler, Yedlin, etc. to help acclimate them into the team. Lastly, get a coach who won't be afraid to actually use the talented white players the United States has in their system. If those things don't happen, the USA will look like Australia's national "team." Wait, they already do. At least Australia managed by their crap competition, whereas the "USA" could not.

A well thought out post thank you JL. It is not like me at all but I fell asleep at the switch and forgot the USA was playing last night so I missed the entire match. Additionally the odds were heavily in their favor to advance but through a screwy set of circumstances(did Mexico lose on purpose to screw the USA?) they missed the World Cup cut. Absolutely Pulisic is far and away their greatest talent and I would venture to guess if you had a team that was made up of "only" soft suburban white players we would have advanced. Are the black players interested in teamwork or individual glory? The American woman's team that won the World Cup was basically all white. What gives ******* race baiters? Today, the ******* of all time Mike Greenberg ( believe me folks I hate him more than any other sports commentator) said the problem was lack of black players, which was an ignorant comment quickly disproven by the facts--see above post by JL. Then Greenberg went on to pontificate on the wonders of the " athletic" type black basketball players and that those guys would never lose. What? Soccer players are generally not tall. I too heard the analysis from Twellman and because colleges drop everything to cater to the football and basketball programs college soccer isn't set up properly to prepare the players for international competition. Like he said the young stud players in our country from the ages of 15-19 often opt for Europe since that is the better fit for them to grow as a player.
My guess as a rebuke to those who have suggested otherwise is that this won't affect the excitement surrounding the World Cup next year. The bars will still be packed and in general the soccer "craze" in the USA will continue to climb upward. But it is a big blow and very disappointing especially since I wanted Pulisic to have a chance to shine on the big stage.
