Some notes.
1) The Williams sisters are acting like clowns(big surprise). Venus in her own littlte fog and Serena wearing and dropping diamonds etc. on the court. They make me sick. I thinkparts of the mediaare finally starting to complain.
2) Get ready for the new black generation of players. Men and women. Most of the young american stars on the rise are black. And so is highly rated Gael Monfils from France. They are all around 18 or less.And the media is very quick to point out they are all superior athletes and have that unique quickness that only blacks possess. Nothing wrong with diversity but when black athletes enter the fray--see soccer posts--the media immediately crowns them athletic marvels and pushes the whites into the garbage bins. They will praise whites but will stop discussing whites in terms of speed. The media continues to pound that drum that only blacks are fast and or the fastest. This is even more disturbing when the NFL has virtually eliminated white speed position players and I am afraid the trend is gathering steam in baseball. Whites will be pitchers, catchers etc. but most of the young minor league speeedsters are black or mixed black. Perhaps soon whites will have to form their own leagues. Like a minor league to make room for the real black athletes who will make up the pro leagues except for kickers. Those "nancy white boys" can still play in the bigs.. And is it me or does it seem like the media is literally castrating white athletes when they continually dwell on the so called "speed " differences between the races? At least that is how i interpret it. Crazy but thats how I feel.
3) Meanwhile Maria shows exquisite taste in her outfits. She has style.
4) If say James Blake and a Williams wins the Open we will not hear the end of it .And once again the "blacks are supreme crowd" will be jumping with joy. Is it possible that one of the biggest motivators for blacks in sports is humiliating whites?
5) Is tennis the biggest sport in the world? Most argue soccer but I think it is tennis. Here in the states the TV revenues are 2nd tier but tennis as a whole generates a ton of money. And look at the crowds at Wimbledon and The US Open and other tournaments.. Full houses and those tix are not cheap at the US Open.
