Some notes.

1) The Williams sisters are acting like clowns(big surprise). Venus in her own littlte fog and Serena wearing and dropping diamonds etc. on the court. They make me sick. I thinkparts of the mediaare finally starting to complain.

2) Get ready for the new black generation of players. Men and women. Most of the young american stars on the rise are black. And so is highly rated Gael Monfils from France. They are all around 18 or less. And the media is very quick to point out they are all superior athletes and have that unique quickness that only blacks possess. Nothing wrong with diversity but when black athletes enter the fray--see soccer posts--the media immediately crowns them athletic marvels and pushes the whites into the garbage bins. They will praise whites but will stop discussing whites in terms of speed. The media continues to pound that drum that only blacks are fast and or the fastest. This is even more disturbing when the NFL has virtually eliminated white speed position players and I am afraid the trend is gathering steam in baseball. Whites will be pitchers, catchers etc. but most of the young minor league speeedsters are black or mixed black. Perhaps soon whites will have to form their own leagues. Like a minor league to make room for the real black athletes who will make up the pro leagues except for kickers. Those "nancy white boys" can still play in the bigs.. And is it me or does it seem like the media is literally castrating white athletes when they continually dwell on the so called "speed " differences between the races? At least that is how i interpret it. Crazy but thats how I feel.

3) Meanwhile Maria shows exquisite taste in her outfits. She has style.

4) If say James Blake and a Williams wins the Open we will not hear the end of it .And once again the "blacks are supreme crowd" will be jumping with joy. Is it possible that one of the biggest motivators for blacks in sports is humiliating whites?

5) Is tennis the biggest sport in the world? Most argue soccer but I think it is tennis. Here in the states the TV revenues are 2nd tier but tennis as a whole generates a ton of money. And look at the crowds at Wimbledon and The US Open and other tournaments.. Full houses and those tix are not cheap at the US Open.

To answer number 4 sunshine, I think absolutely blacks are motivated by the thought of beating a white. There's no guessing about it. All you have to do is watch them and listen to these "docu-dramas" about blacks who "broke through" in a particular sport. People were quick to dredge up the "their grandfather owned your grandfather" type statements to rile the blacks up. This isn't heard of in public much anymore, but it was a significant tactic used in the past.

Blake, who looks like a mix of black and whitedefeated #2 Nadal. That will thrill the caste system media. At least the Williamssisters are playing each other early in the draw. When they play each other in a final, doesnt it seem like they decided ahead of time who will win?

Blacks definately get a high out of beating whites. I see it all
of the time. In basketball whenever a black is guarding a white
he seems to become more aggressive and energized.

Agassi started off slow and lost the first two sets but came back to win the final 3 sets to beat J.Blake.He is now onto the semifinals and is the oldest player at 35 to get this far since Jimmy Connors back in 1991.I would love to see him win another major. What a class guy.

Our girl Maria lost, but if she had to lose Clisters was the one to lose to. Its hard to believe Clisters still hasnt won a Grand Slam event. Hopefully her time is today.

That was a great Open. Agassi made it to the finalbut lost to the most dominant athlete this side of Lance Armstrong.

Roger is the most complete tennis player ever.He acheived back to back Wimbeldons and US Opens two years in a row.The last guy to do that was in the 1930's!The only one I can compare a little to him is Samprass but I believe Roger will break all of the records. He is such a classy guy to and he urged Agassi to keep playing next year.I hope he does.Congrats to Clissters finally winning a major. She deserves it.Now we just need to get Sharapova back to her winning ways too.Great US Open!

Federer's achievment is off the charts. He is in the Woods, Jordan, Armstrong ,Gretsky category ofcompeting on another statosphere. And Clijsters has athletic pedigree. Her mother was a top gymnast and her dad a famous soccer star for Belgium. Her legs are locomotive like and she became the highest paid female in sports history collecting a cool 2.2 million after winning the US Open. A lot of the female players have parents who were sprinters, track athletes, etc.The US Open set a record in attendence of 660 thousand fans crossing the turnstiles over the course of 2 weeks making it the most attended sporting event in American history. The Australian Open also set records andI think the French and Wimbledon did blockbuster stuff too. Tennis is very popular around the world. If SI doesn't put Federer on the cover this go around then weall shouldstopthinking about sports. Or something.Congrats to Roger and Kim!!!!!!

I don't think it's going to happen sunshine. The great thing about tennis is the inability to corrupt it with caste systems. Players must win to advance. Period. The William's sisters earned their ranking and their championship trophies the same as anyone. Players from all over the world compete and must earn everything. There will never be affirmative action in tennis. Amen!

So much for James Blake.Senior Citizen Andre Agassi knocked out Blake tonight in a five set match.I have to admit that it was a very exciting match.Andre will be in the Tennis Hall of Fame.He is simply one of the ten greatest players that I have ever seen play tennis.I hope he can get deep in the tournament and maybe make the finals as this is his last ever US Open.He is retiring.Hopefully he gives us all a few more memories to remember as he walks off into the sunset.Good luck to Andre both now and in the future.

white lightning,

That Agassi v Blake five setter was last year. It was rerun on TV Tuesday night because most all matches were cancelled due to rain.

USA network has already run several vignettes (sp?) on James Blake. They say his story is inspirational. His father died and Blake broke his neck. Though I seem to recall hearing all that at last year's US Open too.

His father was black, his mother is white.

Say goodbye to Serena. She was knocked out of the tournament today. The americans are really stuggling.Andy Roddick seems to be back to form.He is on to the semifinals.I belive he will be playing L.Hewitt.It should be a great game.It all still is going to have to go through the King Roger Federer.I don't see anyone beating him.He is so dominant.

Its turned out to be a great US Open from a fan perspective, all the big boys are through to the quarters.Safin is back to form,Hewitt is back as is Roddick who went through a real slump, aswell as the ever presents Nadal and Federer.Should shape up to be a great final week of tennis. These are the worlds best Tennis players, they may not all fill the ranks of the top ten which is based on tournament points because of injury, inactivity etc,but when on form they are in a different league.

The caste media no doubt has anaylised that men with the size, power and skill of Safin, speed, tanacity and toughness of Hewitt, the raw power of Roddick, the speed, athleticiscm and shotmaking ability of Nadal and the grace and genieus that is Federer are only competing at this level due to a serious shortage of Blacks.

Roddick is one match away from the finals. He will get there and I can't wait to see him meet Federer. As much as I love Roddick,I will still pull for Roger.I want to see Roger continue to dominate tennis like no one ever has or ever will possibly.Either way,Andy Roddick is back and in a big way.Congrats to him on getting this far and getting his career back on track. It's hard when you have so many ladies chasing you.It must be nice!

Sharapova beat the butch lesbian in three sets; the two sets she won were 6-0. Sweet! And BTW, I don't know if this is true or not, but I heard that they told Sharapova to tone down her grunting. LOL! Has anybody else heard about that? She grunted quite a bit in this match. I have no problem with it.

Also, ESPNews described the Federer/ Blake match as "grueling." It's just like that BS with the black player on the Greek basketball team. They try to prop up black athletes any way they can, regardless of how ridiculous it is.

Roger is in the finals. Barring something out of the ordinary he should capture another Slam as neither of the two remaining players have ever posed much of a threat to him.

Read a recent column in USATODAY (McPaper) by Ian Mckellan (or something like that)in which Federer was touted as the only athlete on the planet to be on par with Tiger Woods. That didn't upset me, what upset me (and I guess I should have expected it in this paper but still..) was that this writer couldn't mention a great white athlete without making the reference to Woods. Almost as if to remind his white readers that "see..don't get too cocky, Woods still dominates golf." Furthermore, I've noticed this pattern in this guy's columns for awhile. He will always and I mean always mention blacks somehow someway. Ann Coulter has gotten the same way.

It reminds of how every time Barry Bonds and steroids are mentioned Mark McGwire is mentioned as well. Irritating.

I'm looking forward to the ladies' final tonight -- Maria vs. Henin-Hardenne. Would love to see Maria win her second Grand Slam title.

That match and Texas-Ohio State in football at the same time -- I'm not leaving the house tonight!

Coulter is referencing how great blacks are every time she mentions white people? Can you send me to some links or articles that illustrate that? I haven't read a lot of what she writes but would be interested in seeing something like that in print.

That is so true. On the local sports talk shows in my area every single time a black is spoken about in a negative way they immediately throw a white name into the mix no matter how far the stretch. Another unwritten rule is when the subject of all time greats or favorite players is brought up, the white host invariably chooses blacks, while the black guest chooses blacks. Kinda funny in a way.

Ozzie Smith was a guest on the local showtwo days ago and they were talking about a St. Louis poll asking fans who was the greatest or favorite Cardinal player of all-time. I can't remember all the names, but the host said he voted and picked Smith overStan Musial. How totally ridiculous!! Smith was asked who were the best players he saw or played with over the years and surprise, surprise, he named only blacks.Edited by: Bart

Nice, dominating win by Maria to win the Open. She's still only 19, it could be the beginning of an era of her dominating women's tennis. My only request is that she stop growing -- she was 6-1 when she won Wimbledon in '04 and is now up to 6-3!
