The English and Dutch teams went at each other the other day. It looks like both have a good number of black players. Is this normal? Do the white English and Dutch players typically just come out of the wood work a little later? Or will the English and Dutch national teams soon begin to resemble that of the French?

England started 5 blacks and Holland 6. What i've noticed with English football is that the vast majority of English footballers come from the inner cities because thats where the money is put into football academies and scouting (to keep inner city kids away from trouble). There are just as many blacks kids than whites kids in most English inner cities now, so the England youth football teams are going to reflect those numbers. The players in the current under21 squad who look as though they will go onto the full England team are Scott Carson, Steven Taylor, Tom Huddlestone (mixed race), Ashley Young (black), James Milner, David Nugent and Leroy Lita (black). I think it's a fair number when looking at demographics, although I can't help but think how much talent is being wasted from outside the inner cities, where kids have less of a chance to make it into professional football.

So the bottom line is that the English will hardly be represented in the next World Cup. Just like the French. Thanks for an honest answer.

No - the French team had just one white outfield player at times at the last world cup, sometimes two. The English team will not be like the French in the forseeable future and will be more balanced and will reflect the demographics of the big cities - like the Englishman said. I would predict about 66% - 75% white at the next world cup.

Englishman,

how big a factor does money play in the selection of players to develop? the reason i ask is because it seems (albeit in my limited ability to stay on top of things across the pond)like the white players are MUCH more popular if they are any good, and hence they can command a bigger salary. is this true?

if so, it would be another reason for the powers that be to reward minority players with multiple opportunities to succeed over their white counterparts, despite the wishes of the fans and the deserving merits of young white players.

OC football, I think indigenous English footballers will always be fairly represented in the national team. I doubt we'll ever become like France (who play 3 regular whites in Coupet(goalkeeper), Sagnol and Ribery) because unlike them we don't send scouts into our former colonies in Africa and steal Africas finest youngsters. France are cheats, simple as that. In the last world cup England started no black players, just two mixed race players in Ashley Cole and Rio Ferdinand. French sport is getting blacker on the whole, when looking at their youth rugby teams, boxers and atheletics, where as here in England we still have very successful whites in boxing and atheletics and our youth national rugby team is still predominantly white. Another interesting fact about Frances black players is that most are born in Africa where as all the black English players are 2nd or 3rd generation English.

Jimmy Chitwood, I don't think money has a factor at all when it comes to race in England. If you are good enough regardless of race you will reep the rewards. I could be wrong but having been to America 3 times (have friends in WA) I think that we here in England are a lot less race conscious than Americans on the whole (We don't have brainwashing TV that can at times be extemely anti white). This is probably because we don't have this white guilt due to a segregated past which we've never experienced in England. Having said that recently we indigenous English got a hounding from certain quarters of black England because of the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the slave trade.

Englishman,

thanks for your explanation.

i have noticed when talking to Brits that they tend to be less racially aware than Americans. whether that's good or bad is another thing altogether. but either way, i hope England continues developing some of the best white soccer talent in the world. i love the way the English play footy.

Looks like FIFA is going to punish the Serbian football association over "racist chants" by Serbian fans directed at a black player after a controversial goal. It's been all over the press in the UK. England player Matt Derbyshire said of the Serbs: "Everyone knows around the nation what sort of country they are, the fans and what have you".

For the record the "Dutch" defeated Serbia in the final 4 - 1.Edited by: Matra1

I am from the Netherlands. My English is not so good.
The dutch team was Horibble with so many blacks.
This is becoming the future if you look to the dutch youth teams of professional clubs you see more than 50 % blacks.White people do not like football as much like the Blacks do but they are still extremely overrepresentated.reasens that there are so many blacks in professional soccer is that blacks life in the big cities were the scouts do scouting.and they think that every black is very fast. And scouts scout mostly strikers(who make the goals)and blacks are nearly all striker.Only for defender they choose often for Whites.the reasen for that is that whites are bigger and taller(medium 185 cm) and being big and tall is good for a defender.Funny thing is that the last year the Netherlands won with a mostly white team and there were much more people that did watch the tournament. The were more people that watched to K-1(fighting with the WHITE dutch heaviweight Sem Schilt).Fightsports is becoming a lot more populare under whites and they started competing in it because theay see a lot of great white dutch fighters in K-1 thai boxing and Kickboxing.

I'm a massive fan of Dutch football always have been. It's the same situation all over Europe with the scouting systems and how the vast majority of youth academies are in inner city areas. It just so happens that England, The Netherlands and France have big populations of blacks in inner city areas.

I like the English Premier League.Always when i watch it on TV I have the feeling that the Premier League League is so much faster then every other League.
And I like the supperters they are always singing.
Who do is the best real English player at the moment I think Rooney and Whitie Cole ( i dont know which is Joe or Ashley) John Terry is a good defender.Which of the players is the best do you think?.Good Dutch player maybe van persie.Best player of the world is Ricardo Quaresma why dont they English buy him is state of Nani.Did you know Cristiano Ronaldo has Learn all his movements like scissors and Stepovers from (dutch) Rene Meulensteen he was in the past skill and trainer of man united.Rene Meulensteen got them from Wiel Coerver who i call professor soccer Because he registrated all the movements of the greatest players of all time and learn them to so called Wiel Coerver trainer.DVD's he made.the trick is to repeat the movements to learn very good and when you do scissors and stepovers you do your feet very little room around the ball so you can do them very fast and on speed.i pastdefenders when i played football easily with the movements but i didnt did in on the highest level(i stopped a year ago).I have the feeeling that do you have to be able to fly to be scouted when you play not at the Highest level and do not live in a big city where they scou and play on the highest level.

Englands most important players are Terry, Gerrard and Rooney, and they are the best in England at there positions. My personal faveourite is Joe Cole (the white Cole). Personaly I think the best player in the world is Kaka, even Pele says that. It wouldn't suprise me if Crissy Ronaldo learnt a lot of his skills from a Dutch coach because the Dutch have always been very skillfull but most of Ronaldo's skills are purely his natural skill. I'd agree with Van Persie being your best player although again my personal faveourite is Van Der Vaart, he is brilliant.

The World Under 20 championships is taking place at the moment and the Czech republic beat Austria to get through to the final. The other semi finalists are Argentina and Chile.
France (the worlds best Black Soccer team)got nowhere. Nigeria got the the quarters along with the above four teams and the USA, Spain, and Mexico.
