I think folks are underestimating Jon Fitch.

I agree, shogun. Fitch has been very impressive in every match i have seen him in so far. I expect an all out war, it'll be a great match.

How good is Herring? Is this supposed to be a win-able match to launch Lesnar's career?

Ditto guys. Fitch is getting underestimated just like Forrest was. If GSP can be beaten by Matt Serra, he certainly can be beaten by Fitch. I still think GSP wins a close one but rooting for Fitch.

Fitch is a big welter weight. I think his size/ height will give GSP trouble. Don't know who is going to win.

Herring is a gate keeper in the UFC. He finds a way to lose to the elite of MMA, but beats the next level of guys. He could permanently derail the Lesnar express train.

Good analysis of Herring. If Herring would be more dedicated to his craft and conditioning, I think he could be more than a gatekeeper.

Herring almost beat Nog, but lost to Jake O'Brien. He is up and down and one of those guys about which you wonder, which version will show up?

Brock Lesnar by massive beatdown.

Look for Brock to win by TKO/G&P in the 1st round. This guy is a freak of an athelete with incredible functional strength & explosiveness. Unless he decides to stand with Herring, he'll be too physically dominate for Herring. I'm pulling for Fitch & Kenflo as well. Should be a good card.

With continued training, Lesnar is a threat to anybody in MMA.

I agree with you for once, nevada.

I didn't watch this one. How convincing was the Florian win over Huerta? I heard Huerta was spitting on the canvas, what was that all about?

So Brock looked pretty good then?

What happened to Fitch?

Florian won 30-27. He handled Huerta easily standing and on the ground. It wasn't a 'dominating' performance however because Kenny lacked power. He never seemed to have Huerta in any real danger and Huerta spent most of the fight pursuing Florian around the cage.

Huerta at one point turned and spit, and Goldberg said "And Huerta spits at the fans!" The people I watched it with interpreted it as more of a "c'mon!" gesture. He wanted to brawl and Kenny picked him apart.

Brock dominated Herring. He hit Herring so hard with a straight right within seconds of the first round that lifted Herring off his feet and sent him backwards in a somersault landing. Herring spent most of the night turtled, evidently trying to force Lesnar into hitting the back of his head. Lesnar almost crumpled Herring to the ground with knees to the body. The one time that Herring managed to land a few punches Lesnar bulldozed him into the ground with a takedown. It was a unanimous 30-27 beatdown.

Fitch got beat up for five rounds. GSP almost knocked him out, literally, several times but Fitch managed to survive. Just as you'd think it was over, Fitch would come out in the next round and track GSP across the cage. It was a fun fight to watch especially for a GSP fan (I was rooting for Fitch.) Fitch has to be the toughest SOB in the UFC. The judges scored it 50-44, 50-44, 50-43 for GSP, so each judge had at least one 10-8 round.

I'll second that thanks. Good descriptions.

I like Fitch, but GSP is one of the best P4P fighters in the sport, and I want it to stay that way. Florian was a no brainer, and it would be great to see Lesnar become an elite heavyweight.

Next time he should stop taunting his opponents, this is not the wwe.

Looks like GSP will fight BJ next, that should be a great battle.

The new "no hitting the back of the head" rule is the only thing that prevented Herring from getting TKO'd. It also saved Mir.

Herring, a veteran with 40 fights, and who has fought over 20 times under PRIDE rules where you can do almost anything, and under which rules Herring has mashed people by kneeing and kicking them in the face when they were prone on the ground, began to complain INSTANTLY when Lesnars fist even approached the back of his head. He was getting dominated and wanted the ref to make sure he had every chance to break the fighters and deduct a point from Lesnar.

I hate the modern rules, as I've stated many times. I've been having trouble watching the shows this year because of how much the fighters abuse the two worst modern rules. Do not hit the back of the head, and if a fighter has even one knee or one FINGER on the ground, you cannot touch his head with any part of your leg. Fighters now use these "safe zones" to avoid getting hit.

By far the worst fight this year from this perspective was the Franklin-Lutter fight, in which Travis Lutter should have had all his teeth knocked out and had his nose broken by Rich Franklin's knees and feet. Instead, the silly modern rules allowed him to crawl forward on his hands and knees towards Rich Franklin for over 2 minutes. It was garbage.

I am pulling for Brock Lesnar 100%, but I agree that victory taunt was bush-league & not becoming of a White athlete. I did hear rumors of Brock fighting (Rogaine & Goldberg worshipped) Kongo next. If Herring beat Kongo, just imagine what that animal Lesnar will do to Rogaine/Goldberg's wackoff fodder/Kongo!

P.S. - I'd love to see GSP wipe the mat with that egomaniac Penn!

Lesnars good but I think the problem with him is that he is too one demensional, He looks like Mark Coleman. However I do like that he is training at the Minnesota Martial Arts academy. The biggest problem Coleman had was not wanting to learn BJJ or even improve his strikeing. They have developed wrestlers like Brock Larson and Sean Sherk into good MMA fighters. Another good fighter from there is Logan Clark. I would rank them up their with Xtreme Couture, Arizona Combat club, and Millitech Martial arts.

Lesnar brought Comprido into this training camp to learn BJJ. Lesnar is hungry to learn I don't think he will be one dimensional for long.
