Wow Hettes dominated Phan. I thought the fight could have been stopped in the first.

Brock is an embarrassment. What a head case. He had plenty of opportunities to take down Overeem but didn't even try. Who coaches this guy? He has no instinct whatsoever. He tries to stand up and throw to prove he can throw but the problem isn't his punching it's that he is so afraid damaging his thick skull that he turtles up whenever someone throws back. Good grief just wrestle the guy to ground. Should have been an easy win. I hope he quits.

Another "laudable" performance by bloody Brock Lesnar. Sheer embarrassment...

Anyway, thanks for the feeds boys...

Indeed, I dread whenever he represents us in "caste-matchups," the only two times I ever rooted for him he put in such embarrassing performances. Here's hoping JDS smashes the still overrated Overeem.

It's not his coach it's him. He has no MMA IQ what so ever. He thinks because he can KO a guy in a weightclass below him he can do that to Reem. IMO he should have one this fight easily, instead he gets him against the cage and allows for knees to his face. What he should have been doing is training with Josh Barnett or a Greco roman, and learning how to take someone from the upper body.

I'm not a Brock fan, but man that fight made me sad. I tought he had a chance by bullrushing him and mauling him on the ground. But I saw a scared man the minute he entered the octagon. He is looking awfully similar to Bob Sapp. He should retire now or have another easier fight and then hang them up, before people starts calling him Brock "Bob Sapp" Lesnar .

I don't think Brock truly wanted (wants) it anymore. :( I think his heart's not in it...as evident by his post fight retirement announcement. He could have won the fight had he sold out for wrestling & G+P. All in all, he's proven his athletic ability in the NCAA, NFL (for having not played in college) and the UFC. He needs to retire 100%. BTW, I think JDS will KO "Overroid" (who's 6 of 11 losses have came via KO/TKO).

Here's the rest of the card...

Preliminary card (Facebook)

Nunes defeated Gamburyan via unanimous decision (29–28, 29–28, 29–28). This bout aired on the PPV broadcast following the Lesnar vs. Overeem fight.
Volkmann defeated Escudero via unanimous decision (29–28, 29–28, 29–28).

Kim defeated Pierson via unanimous decision (30–27, 30–27, 30–27). This bout aired on the PPV broadcast following the Fitch vs. Hendricks fight.

Preliminary card (televised)
Castillo defeated Njokuani via split decision (29-28, 28-29, 29-28).

Pearson defeated Assunção via unanimous decision (30-27, 29-28, 29-28).

Main card
Hettes defeated Phan via unanimous decision (30-25, 30-25, 30-26).

Gustafsson defeated Matyushenko via TKO (punches) at 2:35 of Round 1.
Hendricks defeated Fitch via KO (punch) at 0:12 of Round 1. :(

Diaz defeated Cerrone via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28).

Overeem defeated Lesnar via TKO (strikes) at 2:26 of Round 1. :icon_rolleyes:

The Matyushenko/Gustafsson fight should get a big thumbs up. The Janitor is old, whereas The Mauler is a viking up-and-coming badass that could challenge for the crown someday.

There's no country more sadistic towards its white population than the USA.
They like their sportsmen black, along with their black singers, black actors and of course their black president.

I can't help noticing how strong Lesnar used to look against white opponents: Carwin, Mir, Couture and how pathetic he now looks against browns and blacks. This guy is a sell up.
American company "UFC" would never allow a white domination in mma. Dana White trash is king of the scums. That skank even cheered for David Haye (british mulatoo for those who don't follow boxing) to "knock the boring Klitscko out, we need a new heavyweight champ" that bald skank said: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxTkEXGNL24

Boycott that fixed Ufc crap people!

I'm glad Brock is retiring. He just doesn't have it anymore.

With Barnett, Mir and Carwin we still have some of the top guys and can maybe get the belt back in 2012.

Dos Santos is a white Brazilian and he will smash Overeem.

Fedor won by KO in Japan an hour or so ago.

Forrest Griffin is another guy who needs to retire. According to ESPN, Griffin cuts from 250 to make 205. No wonder he is so drained.

I just hope Gustaffson, Bader or even Bonnar can be the next one to fight Griffin.

I said Lesnar looked soft in the middle as soon as he took his shirt off. I guess his illness took a lot out of him. Yeah, he looked scared and didn't do anything at all. Be glad you didn't pay to see it.

They oughta fine Diaz for doing the middle finger thing in the middle of his fight. Didn't they want to keep this sport high class?

I'd like to see how Gustaffson could do in a real sport - boxing. He looks good.

it looks like brock lesnar never really recovered from his health problems
i agree, he lost interest in UFC too

how can a suposedly drug tested federation like UFC allow such an obvious juicer to fight?
without drugs, overeem wouldn't be heavy enough to be a heavy weight

Well, the both of them...

yes, ofcourse
but brock takes less than when he was in WWE
or maybe he looks less impressive because of his illness

(and brock is naturally broader than overeem, ofcourse, because he is white, so without drugs brock would be bigger than overeem)

I wouldn't be shocked if it turned out Lesnar threw this fight. Priot to this fight he signed to fight the Undertaker at Wrestlemania, and it appears he will be retuning to the WWE in May. He left the WWE before because he didn't like the fans, mainly due to the fact that he has no personality what-so-ever.

I don't know, but he sure didn't seem to be trying very hard.

I don't understand this sport. Cerrone was getting beat up boxing with Diaz, but he also knocked him down with kicks numerous times, so why didn't he follow up and jump him when he knocked him down? But he just let him get back up each time.

Sometimes fighters fight hurt. Cerrone is a guy who has fought with a staff infection, many times they come in not 100 percent. The reason so many guys left Pat Militech's camp was because they would get so banged up fighting that when the match came around they we're hurt. I think Cerrone, must have been injured because Diaz got outstruck by Grey Maynard, who is not know for his striking. This could also be the case of styles make matches. I think Cerrone still has a bright future in MMA, so I see him fighting harder next time.

And us piling on Lesnar now is part of that problem. It isn't all that healthy for pro-white people to savage any white fighter who loses a high profile fight. Not very appealing to take up the mantle of Great White Hope knowing that your white supporters will absolutely loathe you the moment you lose.

Sure Lesnar was over-hyped which obscures the fact that he had all of eight fights in a striking sport with no striking background anywhere else in his athletic career. Nevertheless, he went 5-3 against mostly top competition with two of his losses coming after a major illness.

Palecon, no doubt that Brock is the best athlete in the HW division. However, it didn't appear to me that he truly wanted that victory. He could have easily taken Untereem down...had he sold out for the shot. He was non-chalant on any grappling & settled for standup against a guy (while overrated) is a better striker. It appeared he wasn't totally committed to winning.

Brock did try to take down Overeem once, tried to grab a couple knees, and tried to push him around and into the cage. Overeem is a big, strong, steroid-addled bastard with solid takedown defense and knees from doom. You would need alot more than 2 and a half minutes to soften him up and get the takedown. Especially when he has zero respect for your standup and is keeping his hands down and body leaning over.

Brock trained MMA for about 5 years. He's good but not great. He's decent with great wrestling but got to the top by beating other decent-but-not-great fighters. Not great by today's standards that is. He relied on his wrestling and athleticism. When he ran into guys that are more athletic he didn't have the skill to beat them. A testament to his toughness for sure though. Anybody who would get into the ring with the likes of Overeem with just 7 fights and 12 inches of missing colon is all balls.

It is frustrating that Lesnar never developed another skill to go along with his takedowns. These days a fighter really needs at least two serviceable skills.

Overeem's TDD isn't very good, Brock was just highly overrated. Even as a wrestler I don't think he was as good as Steven Neal, Jared Zabriskie, Mark Ellis, Chad Corvin, or Steve Mocco. Overeem was giving up a lot of takedowns to less quality people, Randy Couture in training and Mark Hunt in the fight. In MMA you need to use your punches to set up the takedown, Brock is to dumb to understand that. Brock is nothing more than a bigger version of Mark Coleman, he's good against ground fighters and terrible against MMA fighter. He should have lost that fight agianst Shane Carwin, but the ref didn't stop the fight when he should have. Good luck to Brock rolling around in his underwear with a bunch of grown men, wacked out of their mind on painkillers and and steriods. Brock will be dead by the time he reaches 40.
